Review:Really interesting approach to writing a novel.
My problem is that i start off with a gangbuster opening, get to the middle and then can't figure out a logical end. Using Bell's technique, you start with the middle of the story and work out.
He lays out very clear steps and lots of prompts to think differently about how you organize your writing. Well done. Read more
Review:Full of inaccuracies, you have to fact-check every story. Quite a few grammar errors. Anyone who's been in the military will spot unlikely events. The information value is learning which stars died an unnatural death. After a while I just stopped reading the book's explanation and just went online for facts. Read more
Review:This book is fabulous! I believe that most of the people who are bemoaning that this book is just a rehash of old stories are wrong. This book is not about the stories. Review:I was prepared to like Mr. Astin - the character of Sam is one of my literary favorites. My daughter, who collects all things LOTR, asked for this book for Christmas, however, knowing that Hollywood types like to lace every thought, written and spoken, with profanity, I checked this book out of the library for a look-see. Review:I had been looking for a biography on River Phoenix for awhile and this seem to be the best out of a select few. Didn't like the writing style, flip flops back and forth...between River Phoenix, other actors at the time and The Viper Room. About half way through I gave up on reading it, which is extremely rare for me with books. Read more
