Lincoln the Unknown
Lincoln the Unknown

Review:WOW. I forgot all about this book. My dad cherished both Lincoln + Dale Carnegie. My sweet husband found this, (signed) about 10 yrs before my dad died. At the end, my dad was losing it mentally. My mom thinks he may have given it away. What a shame. Read more

Read My Pins: Stories from a Diplomat's Jewel Box

Review:My wife enjoyed this book. She loved the fact that Madeleine Albright's sense of humour and sense of occasion was transported through her gorgeous collection of pins and also that Heads of State from around the world could determine how a meeting was going to work out by looking at the pin she was wearing on her lapel. She also shared wonderful memories through her jewellery. Read more

Madam Secretary: A Memoir
Madam Secretary: A Memoir

Review:MEMIORS
Look at the subject then read on. Most of the reviews on Madeleine were negative, but personally think the book is really good. Madeleine's memior is was much more candid then Margaret's memiors which more textbook. Both had twins, Madeleine had 2 girls that look the same, Margaret had boy and girl. Madeleine had a divorce and Margaret didn't. I could go on forever, but I stop here. I hope Madeleine comes to my town's book store to sign her book for the customers. Thank you. Read more

The Incredible Story of Green Beret Sergeant Roy Benavidez's Heroic Mission to Rescue a Special Forces Team Caught Behind Enemy Lines

Review:Eric Blehm does it again! After "The Only Thing Worth Dying For" and "Fearless" one might think Mr. Blehm would miss a beat with his new book "Legend." He doesn't! Another great story, another great book. Real life heroes come alive once again. Couldn't recommend it more! Read more

The Writing Life
The Writing Life

Review:A stream of rambling nonsense that has nothing to teach about writing or anything else.
If you start reading it and tell yourself that " it must get better if I just read a little further", you will be disappointed.
On the bright side - the existence of this book proves that anyone can become a published author - anyone Read more

Pilgrim at Tinker Creek - An American Childhood
Pilgrim at Tinker Creek - An American Childhood

Review:I originally read this book, in the tree flesh about 9 years ago and recently purchased this audio book in search of something nostalgic, familiar that soothe my ire to an from work on the 110 Freeway. The recording itself is not bad, the speaker's voice is what you would want to hear nature narrations told in. Although when going through a mid-youth crisis as I am, I found myself having to skip back tracks often, attempting to find the greater meaning that Dillard has so expertly woven in betw... Review:David Carr was a very courageous and talented man. His life could have easily continued to spiral out of his control had he not made significant changes for the sake of his daughters. His book was a page turner. Read more

This book was a good read. I enjoyed Kaitlins attitude& philosophies, as well as her account of what happened at Sandy Hook school (well obviously I didn't "enjoy" that but the first hand account was more informative than removed news commentators) . The only downer was how it affected her later on, I did not see that coming nor the attitud... Read more

Memories, Dreams, Reflections
Memories, Dreams, Reflections

Review:Jung's own words on his childhood, musings, and how his philosophy developed. His split from Freud, his interest in Asian spirituality and his concept of the shadow and why it is important for us, in a world where can destroy ourselves and our planet at the press of a button, to recognize that we all have a darker side. "How could this have happened?" is the response of a society in denial. Read more
