Review:I thought the book was inspirational but in no way is this non- fiction. I was very disappointed that it is sold as a true story. I am not an expert but common sense tells me that no one could accomplish this the way it was presented. This is only my opinion and does not detract from the way it was written. I enjoyed reading it. Read more

Review:He not only did great historical research, he tried to understand the importance of male and female balance in the universe from nomadic perspective. It is not easy task for anyone who is outlander and try to explain it. But he really did! In order to understand a certain culture very well you willing to go really deep into it and "taste" it with your human basic senses; looking, eating, smelling, listening, and touching. He did it all. I really appreciate his effort to complete the missing chap... Read more
Review:An incisive critique of the enigma that Gandhi was, the gigantuan effort he put into, to shape and wield the political and psychological forces that led to the ousting of the island nation of England, who found India , their 'Jewel in the Crown, too good to leave behind. Great book. Read more
Review:My late paternal great-aunt, 1/4 unknown European and 3/4 Chinese was the only grand-family that my father counted on financially since the sudden death of his father at age of 8 in 1945. She was mean and tended to verbally abuse her own family and even step-family who later supported her at old age. She expected everyone to look up to her and to always say good morning, great-aunt every day from us. I grew up fearing her in my home when she came to visit us from San Francisco to Hong Kong al... Review:This book surprised me as I felt Theodore Roosevelt has gone down in history as a great man and president. History proves this to be true, but this author denies the facts. In his opinion Roosevelt led us into World War II single handedly. This does not ring true.
I really hope that people read on after this book and learn the truth about Teddy Roosevelt.] Read more
Review:This book was INCREDIBLE I had to read Chinese Cinderella for school and decided to read this book after and I am very glad I did. This book tugs at all your heart strings and really makes you think. I highly recommend reading this book. Read more
Review:The author describes India as profound and profane. That pretty much sums up her book as well. Maybe Disney Land with the whiff and splat of raw sewerage would be another summation of her india. She thoroughly investigates every single "ism" and geographic location on the sub continent. Calcutta is about the only place she doesn't visit. The book is thoroughly educational from a cultural, religious, and geographic stand point. In reading up on India for a coming visit she is one of the best... Read more
Review:Good book which lead me to some other good reading. If you want to read the story because you think it sounds good and have no personal interest in the region, I imagine it would be hard to get through. Can be tedious at times. Read more
