Review:Naomi Klein has summed it all up. There definitely is a lot of history to go through, but it is so interesting and keeps your interest all the way through. It is far from a personal perspective on Global and Domestic Shock Economics. She backs up everything with citations from a multitude of sources, worldwide. Her allusions and similes based on hard facts scared the hell out of me of what the government has been capable of over the past 60 years.
It seems like she has "outed" the Shock... Read more

Review:In synopsis of Marx, capitalism--whereupon he provides multifarious, multitudinous, and incontrovertible evidence--negates ourselves (qua, humanity). Succinctly: "Capitalism Kills." Ergo, it's our responsibility--qua, humans--to "negate the negation" (i.e., supercede capitalism previous to its terminating ourselves).
This brief volume calls capitalism to account on multiple fronts; while capitalism is a death warrant , Prof. Chomsky--in seasoned, left-veteran fashion--whineth not. Th... Read more
Review:Most of the comments expressing disappointment here have to do with content. I bought the CD audio version and I am actually okay with the content. It's good not great, but certainly sufficient to hold my interest.
My disappointment relates to the poor enunciation of one of the reader / authors, Professor Steven D. Levitt. He is obviously an intelligent, insightful man but the CD suffers because he does not enunciate well. His speaking volume declines drastically at the end of senten... Read more

Review:This book shows how the politicians and cheap labor tech people are trying to destroy the tech industry and the careers of decent hardworking Americans.
This is especially bad as the tech industry is an area where average people can go to school and with some effort and discipline hopefully get a well paying long term job. The politicians talk about well paying long term jobs and they actively attack and attempt to destroy an industry and the careers of their citizens. This is terrible. A... Read more
Review:This book effectively shows how very small changes to defaults can leverage human nature in complex systems to help people make choices that will ultimately be better for them. Using the concept of Libertarian Paternalism, the authors explain how "Choice Architects" can make the world a better place while allowing people the freedom to make the wrong choices. Read more
Review:I was intrigued by this book because in my career field (fitness and nutrition) there are a lot of "obvious" things people think they know are true when in actuality they're not at all. Saturated fat will clog your arteries and give you a heart attack. You must eat "healthy" whole grains in your diet. Red meat will cause cancer. You must exercise for an hour a day. The list goes on and on and all of these things comprise what is known as conventional wisdom. They're generally accepted by people ... Read more

Review:Everyone needs to know how government really works. If people don't take the time to read about it, they will forever make bad decisions. What corporations do is not against the law, because they right the laws. Thank you Robert Reich for trying to educate us. Read more
