Review:It is my feeling that Bill Watterson had enough integrity and ethics to prevent the syndicate from cranking out endless meaninglessly repetitive compilations. Of course, he did quit partly because he was becoming disgusted with many of the commercial aspects of his work. With most comics, even good ones, the collections get stale after a few. Watterson's collections dont. There are a dozen or so C&H compilations/collections, but you wont be dissapointed with owning the whole shebang, especia... Read more
Review:Book arrived just as described. My 3-year old just started getting money for doing chores and he saved up to buy Calvin & Hobbes in "good" condition. Book looks great & reads great to a little boy who finds naughty Calvin hilarious! Read more
Review:I've always read this strip since Watterson is one of my favorite cartoonists. I was really sad when he pulled out of the cartoonist rat race ten years ago over conflict in merchandising of Calvin & Hobbs. Now, I buy his books whenever I see them: Goodwill stores, flea markets or yard sales. This well illustrated ebook of Calvin & Hobbs and their encounter of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster is one of the best. Read more
Review:Hard to believe this is the next to last Calvin and Hobbes collection. For fans of the series, there isn't much to say but buy the book. You'll love it as much as the others. New to the comic strip? Here's why you should buy it.

Review:As one Amazon reviewer said, this book is like the nightmare you can't rouse yourself from. Ryder, the principal character, arrives in a town he recognizes--or maybe doesn't--for an event he can't quite recall having committed to. He meets the butler in the hotel, who is also his father-in-law--or at least the father of the woman who may or may not be his wife. This pattern is repeated over and over, as Ryder constantly finds himself praised for doing nothing, or criticized for breaking commitme... Read more
Review:It is not comprehesive enough in terms of characters coverage. No information about the war between the dwarves and the dragon, no information about the war between the dwarves and the Orcs. I personally do not think it is a visual companion which cannot leave the readers especially those who have watched the film a positive impression. If you compare the similar essential visual guide published by DK for other films and other stories, DK is much much better. I hope the publisher of The Hobbit... Read more
