Review:Another fantastic book to explain to our African-American grandchildren about different skin colors of people from different parts of the world. My Mom was Italian, and she had a different color skin than a lot of Anglo people, and this explains that also. This is a must read for all children...we are all the same inside even tho we may look different on the outside. Read more
Review:This is a really cute book. My daughters love it, they love the concept and had no idea what to expect in the end. (Girls ages: 8 & 7).
This past week my daughter asked to be "The girl from The Name Jar" for Halloween. That speaks volumes to me as a Mom because she is finding strength in something other than the mainstream.
It is a Must have for my kids bookshelf and will hopefully be a great thing to read for years to come! Read more
Review:The story is easy reading and has a great meaning. I think it should be required reading for children in middle school thru high school. The story shows how one can overcome deep rooted anger and also the feeling of helplessness. I read it along with my granddaughter (she's in 6th grade) and we had some good discussions. Going to try and get my grandson to read who is in high school (9th grade). Read more
Review:Not usually a fan of period-piece fiction, but my aversion fell to the wayside after readinf the first 2 books in this series. Great characters - fully rendered - and all the action and intrigue you could ask for. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Read more
Review:Exiled Queen takes what was started in The Demon King and explodes it forward. After starting it,I could not put it down. Waiting for book three is going to be torture. Each character really seems to grow and mature in this book. I care about each main character and I'm not sure how I want this to turn out. There are so many possibilies.
I recommend this book for any fantasy fans out there. Read more
Review:My presents to my grandchildren usually involve items that have to be shared with one of their parents because I have this funny idea that interaction between them is to be encouraged. This book is going to be combined with a puzzle of the United States. By giving them to the six-year old granddaughter, then they can be passed down to the four-year old at a later date. Read more

Review:I liked the idea of the girl seeing her reflection as a princess, but I didn't think it was executed well. The story was repetitive in a way that didn't add anything to the story or help with the flow of language. I would still consider another book by this author but wouldn't have high hopes going in. Review:After reading the information about this book , I believed that it was aimed at tweens. But as a 55 year old woman I did not want to stop reading Fire Mage. Fire Mage truly held my interest and I hated when I came to the end of the book. I work with 10 to 12 year old children and they all would enjoy this book. It is well written and makes you want more. The details are clear and the charters are likeable and the book is enteraining. At times as I read Fire Mage I felt that I could see and smell... Read more
Review:Grandchild was thrilled with this maze book. Although only 4 y.o., she loves mazes and this book has enough different skill levels to keep her interested. Small size makes it great for traveling, too. Read more
