Seychelle Collection (Seychelle Sullivan)

I downloaded this set because I am a Florida mystery/adventure addict. The stories are intruiging at the start but the main characters are...well, 2-1/2 dimensional. For the price the books were OK. I won't be rushing to pay more for new stories.

I really like Kling's writing style. If you like Catherine Coulter you should enjoy this author. Mysterious surrounding the boating industry is a new and very informative type of mystery for me. Loved the collection.

Enjoyed reading this book collection -would recommend it, twists & turns I didn't always see coming...which I like! I've read another in this series which I've enjoyed also. I liked watching the characters evolve, questions answered and such. But....the main character Seychelle makes the same stupid, irresponsible mistakes over & over. Granted helpful in solving the murders...most times putting people in harm's way, often fatally :( she does have a big heart, no doubt....but I would really like to see her grow into a much smarter, responsible woman who solves murders with tiny mistakes....the other is getting very predictable and old. So as I have really enjoyed these 5 books, I'm not sure if I'll continue unless much character progress is made.....and it just might have in the last book of the boxed set, only time will tell :)

I bought the entire series about Seychelle one ebook at a time, before the boxed set was offered. In a nutshell, all four are terrific novels that will satisfy mystery fans who are also nautical buffs. My boating experience comes from mooching rides from friends with both sail and powerboats, and I don't really know a painter from a sheet, but Kling spices engaging and well plotted mysteries with just the right amount of nautical salt to please landlubbers and boaters alike. 5 Stars all the way.

Plus I just finished her latest, Circle of Bones, an epic adventure story with lots of meat on its own bones at some 526 pages. That one is highly recommended as well.

Entertaining! Loved the main character. Read all of these as paperbacks. Now on to Kindle and signed up for unlimited. Listened to the two new books: Circle of Bones and Dragon's Triangle. Enjoyed them very much as audio books. Looking forward to the third in this series. Having sailed for many years I can identify with 'life aboard'. Wish I could go along on the adventures!

Mysteries, travelogues and histories are especially good books for sailors. In this adventurous series you've got it all (history comes in story details based on real people, incidents, boats and place names in Florida) PLUS a woman salvage tug captain and drama that only the Florida keys could provide. The boat handling is accurate and it's obvious the author knows her way away around the channels, the reefs and backwaters of the area. A fun read for anyone who loves boating, fast-paced mysteries and vicarious travel. A perfect gift for woman sailor friends, partners, wives.

Love how Seychelle cares so much for everyone. She actually takes action and does what needs to be done for her friends. She doesn't just sit back and complain about it and wait for someone else to fix it.
