Well, color me surprised! I didn't think I would l like a book about a true Dom/sub relationship, but I loved this one. Dahlia was a true submissive, but she was no pushover, that's for sure. She knew what she needed in a relationship, but she never thought there was a man who could give her the Dominance she craved, and not terrify her. She had been "broken," as in the title, when she was only nineteen years old, when a bastard in her family beat and raped her. She was afraid to turn him in, and he reveled in that, taunting her all his life because he got away with it. Our hero, Lucian, is a "true" Dom, in that his whole purpose in a relationship was to love his sub, to care for her every need, and to protect her from harm. He knew that Dahlia was that mate, but something was wrong with her. Until she finally confessed to him so many years later, he felt she just didn't love him enough. Once she'd told him the truth, he "fixed" it - he well and truly "fixed" it. How he did that is a story he will just have to tell you himself - and, boy, is that a tale worth hearing! It really does take all sorts of folks to make a world, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

This is the first book by Lauren Landish and Willow Winters. This was no ordinary dom/sub book. Was so pleasantly surprised was so so captivated with Lucien, loved his love at first sight for his treasure. Dalihia was so broken ..so utterly crushed for her. The raw emotions for them is what drew me to them. Every scene, every touch and every smack was just an out of body experience. Can't wait to see where this two characters go. Bravo, finally a fresh look at a genre that little can write about.
The Dom's Dungeon :: Dark Citadel (Masters of the Shadowlands Series Book 2) :: Beneath the Scars (Masters of the Shadowlands) (Volume 13) :: Breaking Free (Masters of the Shadowlands) (Volume 3) :: Mischief and the Masters (Masters of the Shadowlands Book 12)

Bought: Highest Bidder is the first book I have purchased from Lauren Landish. I enjoyed the story line and appreciated exploring the flawed characters. I liked this story so much I purchased Sold, Owned and Given. I loved getting to know the other character's stories. I also enjoyed the second book included with Brought.
