Beautiful illustrations, detailed and easy to understand. It is a book, for the average practitioner, to have around and look into from time to time in order to gain more insight on the muscles each pose directly affects. There is just so much depth to yoga poses than what we might simply guess. I think this a very interesting book.

Leslie Kaminoff is a well known yogi with a depth of knowledge into the human body and its anatomy. If you ever wondered how yoga works this book will explain it in easy to understand ways. The illustrations in this book are wonderful. Lots of illustrations of the human body in yoga postures and all the muscles that are activated in the poses. A must read for any serious yoga student.

I really like this book! It's unique, with showing the muscles used in the poses, and the explanations that go along with it are easy to read and understand. Everyone I show this book to wants to get themselves a copy! You should, too!

A great resource for helping students with particular areas they want to work. We are requiring students to present a well rounded yoga activity speaking of the muscles involved and this book answers all of their questions related to "what poses/postures work the hamstrings?" Encouraged students who wanted more information on the science of stretching to prepare for a specific activity (skiing, baseball, vs a student who just wanted to use it for stress-reduction).

This book is awwwwesome! The illustrations are beautiful and they are very clear in helping out anyone no matter what their previous level of anatomy. I found it very helpful to look at after classes to ensure poses were done correctly.

The best yoga anatomy book! And I have several to compare it to. Leslie Kaminoff is great and the photography in this book is excellent. Lots of care went into creating an excellent resource for yoga teachers.

This is great for both the beginner (like myself) and those who have practiced yoga for a while. It is beautifully illustrated and easy to understand making it a great guide to learning the positions and what muscle groups are being used.

Wow, were to begin... All of her books are awesome. I will say though that different styles of yoga have different names for poses so know ing the name of the pose helps.. But the diagrams make it easy to find what you're looking for

This book is essential for someone dedicated to learning yoga. It teaches you the correct alignment for each pose (which is EXTREMELY) important, and explains how it affects and is affected by your anatomy.

This book doesn't really have the biggest selection of asanas but it does have cool scientific diagrams to tell you what asanas impact what muscles. It's glossy and in colour with some suggestion of pose variants.

As a nurse I really appreciated the somewhat clinical approach in the review of the poses.
I attend classes with a very enthusiastic young teacher and have purchased this book for her as a Christmas gift.
I think it will add to her knowledge and benefit everyone in the class through her incresed appreciation of the anatomy and muscles involved in every practice. It might help create addaptations for those having difficulty with some poses.
