I enjoyed this second book even more than the first. Angle of Truth is the second book in the new Fallen Empire series, but can still be read as a stand-alone story since there are some explanations to bring readers up to speed. The action keeps coming and carries the crew of the Snapper’s along quite entertainingly.
Jelena, Thor, Erick and Masika’s personalities are shaping up and interacting well in this new story of would be mercenaries and the disingenuous workings of people in power. Jelena is striving to be an independent, capable young woman while learning that life is not as black and white as it seemed when she was a child and that truth is often colored by one’s perspective.

Lindsay's done it again. Helena and her starship, the Snapper, along with her crew Erik, Prince Thorian, Masika, Austin and Allie the dog dive headlong into another great adventure. Intent on paying off a 50000 tindark fine levied by the Alliance she's come up with a scatterbrained plan to become Mercinarues and rescue some Alliance bigwigs. During their search they're taken captive and see that these people have been duped by the people their hired to save. Jalenas new mission becomes stopping the planetary war. Wow! Fun times ahead. The humor and the storyline keeps you on the edge. Another 5 star book. Looking forward to more

Space opera with a sense of humor. Just received the ARC. Jelena is still the provisional captain of the second ship in the family freight hauling fleet. She needs to earn a lot of money fast to pay for the damages created in her last adventure and keep the ship running. Leonidas’ suggestion for a lemonade stand by the ship’s entry ramp at each stop didn’t go over too well. The crew is aged 18 to low 20s and the conversation reflects that level of maturity. They charge into an opportunity without fully researching it and things go downhill from there. Mixing dad’s Starseer genes with mom’s habit for finding trouble and her smart mouth make for a fun ride. Waiting for the next one.

This second novel in the series is a great read. Pilot Jelena Marchenko just wants to be a successful pilot/businesswoman, except Fate keeps shifting the path of Marchenko and her crew. This time, the crew of the Snapper arrive on a war-torn planet, with two continents locked in what appears at first blush to be a conflict of religions. Jelena volunteers her crew for a rescue mission, only to discover the sinister truth.

The novel is an excellent read, steady excitement and enough surprises to keep the pages turning.

Jelena and crew are at it again in another action packed adventure, looking for a paying contract that will allow them to pay off some debts arising from her last venture into impetuousness. Again, things do not go smoothly, and it could get serious. A good job Jelena has a sense of humor, even though this is not always appreciated. Beefing up the Snapper's shields would help too, as Jelena is always finding trouble from better armed opponents.

Lindsay Buroker gets better and better. I eagerly await the rest of this series.

Lindsay Buroker has created another great and engaging entry in this series. I really enjoyed that the events from the first book have severe consequences in this book. This really moved the plot and changed the motivations in this entry in the series. The characters continue to grow and evolve across the series in really interesting ways.

The authors dialogue continues to be the highlight of the books for me. The interactions between the characters combined with the great action really makes this book great!

Lindsay with another hit! I have become quite a Lindsay fan, or maybe I should say a fan of her characters, since that is who I feel I know. The precocious young Captain is back at the helm getting her rag tag group back into danger again. Lindsay is continuing to develop her characters into lovable, albeit flawed, heroes. The crew is growing, the thrills are mounting, the drama is building. When will Alfie realize he is the first starseer canine? Grab the book, it is a quick fun read.

This second installment of the series is the one that truly sold me. I had given the first book 4 stars because the characters hadn't totally grabbed my interest. But since I've read almost all of Lindsay Buroker's books, I felt sure that the series would be worth it. She did not disappoint. I enjoyed this adventure. I enjoyed it enough for 5 stars. It took place on the edge of the solar system in a lawless area. The crew falls into the middle of a civil war. Some very real and poignant issues of the rights and wrongs of war are dealt with tactfully. The humor did not detract from the seriousness. The seriousness did not take anything away from the entertainment. Of course, the potential for a romance between the main characters keeps you wanting more. I'll be waiting for the next installment. This has the makings of an amazing series.

Lindsay Buroker has done it again! Angle of Truth is the sequel to "The Rogue Prince," and it's even better! In this installment of the Sky Full of Stars series, Jelena Marchenko finds herself (and her crew) in hot water yet again. She learns that her previous misadventures are going to be very costly, and as a result, she tries to find a side job to earn extra money. As always, things don't go smoothly, and a simple rescue mission turns out to be anything but. Along the way, Jelena ends up with a few new crew members and the gratitude of an entire planet. As with all of Lindsay's books, this one is a must-read. Make sure to have time to read it all at once, because you won't be able to put it down.

Well, Lindsay's way of writing will never cease to enchant me. Some of the dialogues were beyond priceless and the writer has become a maestro in making the repartee among the characters a special delight for the reader. The plot was one of the best she has ever written and Jelena has tried very hard to do the right thing and has succeeded in stopping the war in a most imaginative way.
Don't you ever stop writing your delightful stories,Lindsay!

Another adventure for the crew of the "Snapper"! Jelena, Thor, Erick and Masika are delivering cargo and have a few, um, problems. Awful people receiving their cargo, locals trying to acquire that cargo and a message from Mom. That message sends them on a quest to bring in some extra cash, another good read from Lindsay Buroker. You won'the want to miss it!

The star-based road trip between childhood friends Jelena and ex-prince Thorian continue in this sequel to The Rogue Prince. Looking for money to pay of debts from her previous adventures, Jelena and Thorian take us into the unpredictable and dark world of the mercinary soldier. Can they keep to the deal they have made to be mercinaries? Will Thorian's ability to kill or Jelena's lateral thinking bring them through? Navigating the complexities of war they take us on another entertaining adventure.

I absolutely loved this book! So much action, suspense and just the right amount of humorous back and forth banter. Jelena is following in her mother's footsteps and leading her own team through amazing adventures on planets at the edge of Alliance space. She has her mother's knack of finding trouble in unlikely places and I can't wait to continue her and her team's adventures in book three! Definitely recommend!

I was unimpressed by Rogue Prince, the 1st book in this “Sky Full ..” series, as it was predictable and possibly a bit too Young Adult. However this second book in the series is a major improvement! (Funnily enough the 2nd book of her Fallen Empire series, from which this one derives, was also much better than the 1st)

It is (again) well written, still young adult..ish but much more believable than Rogue Prince. Light, easy, good fun read as I am now accustomed to see from L. Buroker.

This is the continuing story of Jelena and her companions. I love reading the books by Lindsay Buroker. Her books are fast paced and full of action. They take place in space and usually have a bit of romance and lots of humor. Her characters are well thought out and the books are entertaining and fun.

Great second book in this new series! Loved the development of the characters from the first book and how their relationships have evolved. The adventure was great too, so many twists and turns of the story line kept me engaged and wondering what would happen next. I can't wait to see what Jelena gets them into next!

"Angle of Truth (Sky Full of Stars, Book 2)," continues the new youth market series, based on the "Fallen Empire" series. Authored by the able author, Miss Lindsay Buroker, it brings to mind the cartoon series, "Scoobydoo, Where are You?" watched as a youth. The sublimation of the "Fallen Empire" series, into "Sky Full of Stars," is that level of juvenile, sappy, cartoonish, unicorn obsessed storytelling. It is well written structurally, but sugary goofy.

The book is not recommended and was fully read via Kindle Unlimited.

Wow I absolutely loved this book. The story line is unfolding and we get to know more about the characters. Buroker has written a high speed action packed story. And combined with that an interesting view on lawlesness and sides of war.

I have loved every book of Lindsay Burokers. Really enjoyed the second story in new Sky Full of Stars series. Jelena is so her mothers daughter! Great interaction with her crew, especially Thor! I can't wait to see what they do next. Highly recommend this series.

Back with Jelena, Thor, Erick and Masika for more adventure.
Once the recap. of the first book is out of the way, the story gets into the usual Lindsay Buroker fast pace crazy twists and very entertaining novel. Since I don't want to give spoilers all I will do is say if you enjoyed book 1, Book 2 does not disappoint. Go for It!
PS: great Book cover... For both books actually..too bad my kindle does not do It justice.

Lindsay brings new ideas and characters into the future. She carefully crafts the adventures and shows great understanding of the realities of political entities. Very enjoyable reading for all ages.

The adventure in this story is interesting but not original, and I have yet to connect well with the main characters. I keep waiting for these unexpected bursts of power from Jelena to mean something but so far they're just surprise her (but sadly not myself). As a huge fan of Lindsey Buroker, this series is a bit disappointing.

*ARC received from author*

After having read the first two books, I feel confident in predicting that this series is going to become another hit. Lindsay Buroker has a unique talent to weave together action, adventure, excitement, mystery, interesting worlds far away, supernatural abilities, believable conflicts into these amazing sci-fi/space opera tales that you can’t put down. Actually this series contains quite a few elements I was sure (up till now) I did not like: a story set in a galaxy far, far away somewhere in the future (I did not read sci-fi before I discovered Lindsay B.), an ensemble cast (always a tricky proposition to pull off), a young, somewhat sheltered heroine who is also the „main“ protagonist, (I used to steer clear of YA), a complicated, driven hero with unclear motives and scary powers (ok, I admit I am actually a sucker for those) and a romance that is barely there (they haven’t even kissed yet and moreover they might never kiss, especially if it’s left up to Thorian). But despite all these negative triggers (at least for me) I am drawn into the story and already deeply invested in the characters, brimming with excitement to see where the story is going to go next.

Synopsis: Jelena has just finished her second freight run when a pre-recorded transmission from her parents reaches her: they, or as it were their company, has been served with an astronomical invoice for the damage Jelena caused to an Alliance space station during her first adventure. Her parents feel that Jelena should at least shoulder part of the responsibility and help them pay off the loan they had to take out to cover the bill. After ruminating on the problem some, Jelena comes up with the brilliant idea to hire out her crew as mercenaries and with the help of Thorian, or actually it‘s all his doing, they succeed in securing a job that does not involve outright murder. Freeing a couple of hostages doesn’t seem beyond the capabilites of an outfit like theirs. But after initially promising negotiations with their would-be employers things once again don’t go as expected. Jelena and her crew realize that much more is at stake than a simple extraction and that they are in fact in the middle of two warring continents. Also, Jelena can’t help but think that they are on the wrong side of the conflict, but she needs the money. As leader of their group the responsibility of the decision of what to do rests on her shoulders…

So, in a way this is also a coming-of-age tale, where the heroine not only has to decide on her own course, but the fate of a whole planet depends on her.
Aside from that, as a subtext it also reads as a critique of contemporary society and culture: it questions the use of religion as a pretext of war, hiding economic interests both individual and corporate. It’s also an attack against the contemporary neo-imperialist world order, especially the corporate culture of exploitation and harvesting of resources without any consideration of the people affected (especially on the periphery/outer worlds) and the damage to the environment it causes.

My verdict: Sci-Fi action adventure of the highest order with (unexpected) philosophical depth. An emphatic 5+ stars rating.
