I really enjoyed this, I adore the characters! Ruby brings the alien world to life with just the right amount of color to let the imagination paint the world mingled while pairing with unique descriptions.

I found this story disturbing. What is more disturbing is the number of people who liked it. In book 1, Liz seemed like an interesting character but I don't like how her character was developed here. But I liked Rooshash character even less. He kidnapped Liz, took her away from her friends after she spent brutal weeks on the alien ship and made the whole thing about his needs. How is this romantic. And why are readers cutting this guy so much slack but Liz gets put down for bad language. Wow. The writing was good.

What an awesome sequel.....I loved it.
Liz and Raahosh off the charts funny, hot smokin sexy times but also some very heart warming moments.
Not too much action but that was ok since there was enough going on with Liz and Raahosh.
Only complaint I have is I want more, yes I know I am greedy like that *wink*

I enjoyed the previous book (or serial) of the Ice Planet world. Appreciated that the author didn't do the usual "everything is rosy" when you're kidnapped by aliens. I really felt the author stood out for depicting how traumatizing, humiliating, and physically hard it would be if someone were kidnapped. Even when the human women find another race of alien men, it's not easy peasy. So intrigued by a new take on the familiar men are from Mars theme, I decided to continue with reading about this world.

Unfortunately, this one is a real step back for me. The female lead was just too foul mouthed and not in a clever, snarky way, but more in a pouty low class, style. I appreciate that she wants to stand on her own two feet and that she's feeling physically and mentally lousy after all she's suffered, but sheesh, when you voice your opinions, do so in a more thoughtful way. It's like she had Tourette's syndrome and you just wanted her to shut up.
I almost gave this story 2 stars, but there is a scene where she puts on her big girl panties and learns to take care of herself and her mate without incessantly making crude comments. Unfortunately, that was only a brief reprieve before she went back to imitating an elementary school kid who learned their vocabulary from a XXX movie.

Book: Barbarian Alien: The Complete Serial
Designation: Standalone Story, No Cliffhanger (A Sci-Fi Alien Romance: The Complete Edition of Barbarian Alien)
Author: Ruby Dixon
Series: Ice Planet Barbarians
My Rating: FIVE FABULOUSLY ENTERTAINING STARS *****
Oh my lordy! What a fabulous fun-filled, rip-roaring great read! I absolutely love it! I began reading Ruby Dixon's work almost three months ago when she introduced her first foray into the science fiction genre with her Ice Planet Barbarian Series. I quickly gobbled up all six books and still craved more. So when I learned she was releasing Barbarian Alien, a second season of her amazingly popular Ice Planet Barbarian project, I eagerly yelled, "sign me up now!" And please, take my word for it, folks, she does not disappoint! It is well worth the wait! As in her previous release, the serial consists of six books with the first two installments being released simultaneously on June 24, the third releasing on July 3 and the remaining three installments releasing weekly thereafter with Book Six concluding on July 24, 2015. The complete bundle will be available for purchase on July 24 as well and that's today!!! Although the author does a brilliant job of explaining the premise and back-story from the original story, I would still highly recommend reading the first six books. I immediately fell in love with Dixon's boundless imagination, her ingenious originality and especially her sassy prose. And my love for her books is still going strong. Who knew science fiction could be so romantic, so seductive and so hilariously funny as well as exciting, thrilling and so full of adventure??? Obviously, no one ever told Ruby Dixon she couldn't include a little of everything including some exceptionally well written and hot as haydees dialogue along with some smoking hot characters and some steamy dreamy sex. Yowza! And what a wild ride it is! Buckle up my lovelies - Here we go again!
The premise of the story: Ice Planet Barbarians
Three weeks ago, fifteen women were abducted from earth by vicious, cruel aliens. Six of the women were placed in stasis but nine were imprisoned in a cage in the cargo hold. The ship experienced mechanical problems requiring the aliens to jettison the cargo hold to the nearest plant hoping they would soon be able to return for their bounty. Three of the women died in the crash to the harsh ice planet leaving six in stasis and six awake but slowly freezing to death with no clothes, no shoes, no way to stay warm and no food to eat. One of the women ventured out to find help and eventually returned with her huge new alien mate and the available men from his tribe. And did I mention that they were huge? Yeah, well, did I also mention they were really huge, blue, had a tail and horns??? And they wanted to mate the women??? What? And to complicate an already very complicated situation, to survive on this ice planet, each inhabitant must be implanted with a symbiont, a khui, or they will die! What the heck??? Georgie, the woman who ventured out for help and returned with an alien mate, was featured in the first serial along with her alien lover, Vektal, chief of his tribe. This story features Liz Cramer, who is best described as sidekick Robyn to Georgie's Batman. Yeah, those are Liz's words, not mine. So, here we go!
Barbarian Alien Parts One through Six:
Twenty two year old Liz Cramer was not only having a bad day, she was having a bad month. Three weeks ago, she had been abducted by little green men and her then data entry clerk job had certainly not prepared her for this experience. One thing for sure, her Dad had taught her how to hunt and how to be a survivor. She'll do just about anything to survive long enough to return to Earth, if that's even possible, but there are just some lines even she's not prepared to cross. First, she's not prepared for Raahosh, the big blue alien who won't take his eyes off her and is lurking way too close for comfort all the darn time and second, there's no freaking way she's going to allow one of those symbiont 'cooties' to be implanted in her body. Nope, she's not mating with that creepy blue dude and certainly not letting that parasite take up residence in her body! Never gonna happen! Or will it??? Oh my! Big blue alien Raahosh has always felt alone. He's never had a mate. Heck, he's never even had sex but his khui is demanding that he mate with the human woman Liz. Why couldn't he have resonated for one of his own people??? They're are too small and too fragile. Besides, he doesn't even like the way they look.Well, maybe he does just a little....especially after he gets a sneak peak. He's determined to have her and won't allow anyone to take her including Vektal, the chief of his tribe. His human mate has accepted him so he doesn't understand. What's an alien to do??? Why throw the human over his shoulder and spirit her away to his secret cave, of course! But will she still hate him when she awakens to discover she has been kidnapped - again??!! Oh my! Apparently not! It seems there's a lot more to Liz than Raahosh ever dreamed. She seems to think that she can hunt like a male. Huh? Females don't hunt - they are too precious. But try telling that to Liz! Raahosh is more than a little surprised to discover that Liz truly can hunt and is proficient with a weapon she made, something called a bow. Color him surprised.... but when a promising excursion turns into a encounter with dangerous creatures, Raahosh and Liz must defend themselves and Raahosh is left seriously injured and near death. Liz is all alone so how will she manage to transport Raahosh back to their cave with no one to help her? He will surely die from his injuries or freeze to death if left out in the cold. Will Liz be able to save Raahosh from certain death?? Liz is finally beginning to realize that she has real feelings for the big blue one-horn lug but has she come to her realization too late??? Let's hope not because Liz and Raahosh have been found by the tribe and are now being "escorted" home but Liz has no idea what lies in store for her fierce warrior. There are severe consequences for kidnapping a female. Unfortunately, as chief of the tribe, Vektal must dole out punishment to his friend Raahosh for disobeying tribal law and that means banishment from the tribe. Will Liz manage to save her fierce blue alien lover - again??? Or will Liz's unorthodox antics earn her severe punishment as well??? I wonder??? No spoilers from me but I will say this.....Beautiful stubborn, spunky earth woman with a seemingly big chip on her shoulder, is determined to go down fighting and now has a sex crazed khui "cootie" demanding its mate-check! Big blue alien with horns, ridges and a tail whose khui has already chosen Liz and is resonating full speed ahead for the small, lovely human-check! Danger, adventure, laugh out loud humor and a ton of fun hijinks-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, a lust fueled mating call, two determined khuis(cooties), sweet romance and some steamy dreamy sex-you bet! That and a whole lot more! And it just gets better and better! I can hardly wait to see what Ruby Dixon has in store for us next! Deliciously cute, seriously sexy and delightfully entertaining!!!

I just love these big blue freaky barbarians. The audiobooks simply can't come out fast enough for me, and its been really hard not to binge through the print copies on Kindle Unlimited. But the narrators do a good job with the story and they keep me entertained as I drive and clean the house, so I'm committed to waiting on the audio versions.

Raahosh is the biggest and scariest alien on the Ice Planet, having lost one of his horns and bearing multiple scars. While life on the Ice Planet is hard enough, Rahash had a harder childhood than most of his comrades. These days he spends most of his time hunting in solitude, providing for his clan, but with little companionship. So when our blue guys find a spaceship full of stranded human (captive) girls and learn that they can mate, he takes matters into his own hands and carries off his female to a private cave to fill her with a little blue baby. Despite his imposing appearance, I though Rahash was sweet and wish that our heroine would have warmed to him a little sooner.

Liz is our heroine in this installment, and she is a snarky little thing who was not afraid to speak her mind. In reality, she rarely shut up. She had a bit of a chip on her shoulder... but she had just been kidnapped by aliens so I tried to forgive her that. I didn't like the mixed signals that she sent to Rahash int he beginning, no really meant yes when she said it. I was worried that this was going to set us up for disaster later in the book. But once she accepted the khui and mating, these two were good together. I also liked that Liz was self-sufficient and capable of hunting, making weapons, and general survival.

So this series is just a bit of ridiculous steamy fun. I love the world building and the aliens (and their ridges). I often find myself laughing out loud at some of the ridiculous aspects, and I now know I can count on this series to keep me entertained with each installment.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook that I received from Tantor Audio.

Usually this Authors books will make me giggle but this book had me in stitches! I laughed so hard I cried, Liz is a total trip her personality is something else. I almost wish the rest were just as crazy as Liz. But I'm sure they won't be I just hope the author has something good up her sleeve for the next book. I mean the first book wasn't even as good as this one LoL Liz gets kidnapped by Rosh something I can't spell it some I'm going to call him Rosh, and he gives her this parasite thing that all the humans had to take in order to live on the new planet they were on. When Liz wakes up and realises what Rosh has done she is furious! She is determined to make his life a living hell for it but she has the parasite in her (that she calls a Cootie since she can't pronounce it the right way) that purrs every time Rosh is near betraying her attraction to him. So in their seclusion Liz ends up falling for Rosh once she learns more about him and realises he is just a lonely man that wants a family and he is pretty much screwed in the whole situation as she is since the cootie paired them up they have no say in the matter. So they end up mating like crazy which is pretty funny you'll have to read to find out for yourself. But when the tribe tracks them down things go horribly wrong
**Spoiler**

Rosh and Liz get back to camp and the chief Vektal give his punishment and exiles Rosh from the tribe. Liz is pissed and then even more pissed when they tell her she can't leave with Rosh that she must stay because they found out she was pregnant with Rosh baby and she's a woman which they have very few of so they're very protective of the women. So what does Liz do? She cries, she sits around moping for her man, then she grows little devil horns and decides it's time to be proactive and do something. So she stirs sh*t up LoL starting off by causing rifts between the human women and the tribe, then by doing anything and everything she can do to piss Vektal off, and then she gets a really bright idea! HOSTAGE sounds like a great idea she wants her man and if taking a hostage is what gets you exiled around here well she would just have to find herself a hostage! LMAO So she takes one of the tribesmen hostage and Vektal finally has a meeting with the elders and they relent and lighten the punishment on Rosh and he and Liz are punished by being put on hunting duty for the next 2 years and have to provide food for the tribe and with good behavior they will be allowed back in to the fold eventually. So Liz is happy Rosh is happy and everyone else is happy since Liz won't be there to stir crap up anymore LoL this book is a definite must read you have got to check it out!!

Liz immediately captured my attention. She's my favorite kind of lead. Mouthy and capable of taking care of herself. The last book left her off being abducted by her barbarian alien. Ha-ha.

First off there are a lot of warning flags in this book. Kidnapping and such. However, a lot of things that I normally grumble about will be placed to the side. After all this world and premise is about these girls crash landing on this planet and taking parasites into their bodies so they can survive living there. Parasites who's goal is to find compatible mates to make babies ASAP. Not to mention that females are super scarce and the alien men are horny. (In more than one way.)

So yeah. Displace you mind set.

Liz's humor just kept me laughing. I laughed everywhere. When people asked me why I was laughing I would just say a funny book. (The few times they kept nagging I told them it was hilarious alien porn.) I also like that Liz doesn't want to just be taken care of by her new alien lover.

There's also more world building and some politics of the alien tribe. I enjoy that there is still a great balance of smutty times and sci-fi bits. Liz is probably going to be hard to beat. I love her so much! This is a fun and easy read. Sometimes you just need hilarious alien porn to make it all better.

Content Warning: Dirty sexual content. Let's be, honest kidnapping. The use of no as yes, which I'm calling out right here.

2/5- Average/disappointing, library check-out.

Mix one sarcastic human and a quiet scarred Barbarian Hunter who knows he has finally found his mate and what do you get? One heck of a good book but when Rahoosh kidnaps her and keeping her captive until they mate, even though he knows that he'll have to suffer the consequences set by Vektal for kidnapping her to force a possible mating. Their planet have only 4 women and a lot of men that once told there are women on the slave ship are excited to have possible mates.

Only with Liz fighting her "cootie" every step of the way, she'll have to teach her mate how to understand and adapt both of their traditions including her hunting with him and sharing chores together. When he's injured during a hunt Liz will step up and hunt and care for her mate while his Khui heals his broken body. When they are finally found Liz will have to find a way using her sarcasm to convince Vektal that she'll do anything to stay with her mate when Rahoosh's is exiled. But will all of her sarcastic words give her back her mate once he is exiled from the colony? Can they figure out a way to be together again while waiting for their kit to be born?

Oh boy is this series so addictive! My iPad is beckoning to race over and read the rest as I loved this one too! In this sequel to Ice Planet Barbarians, there is more depth and emotional baggage to deal with in Liz and Raahosh's story and a lot more human and alien culture conflict is touched on. I thought I would find Liz really annoying, as I found her snarky comments in the previous book somewhat uncalled for at times but nope I was fine with her personality! Yes she is a smart-talking wise crack but once Raahosh is under her skin, her gentler side peeks its head and she falls for him just as he has for her.

It wasn't an easy start for these two, with Liz being very against the whole cootie/khui resonance thing and Raahosh resonating for her immediately on sight and accepting this without question. He is one surly blue alien when he realises his designated mate doesn't desire him as he does her! Raahosh is very eager for a mate and a family. So eager, that he forces the cootie on Liz (to be fair, she was going to die without it so he took matters into his own hands!), kidnaps her away from the tribe and holds her hostage and only plans to return her until she falls pregnant with his kit! Sounds barbaric? He was anything but barbaric....sigh...Raahosh is such a softie and he just wants to care for and protect his mate and damn the consequences! He's also never had a lover (adorable virgin alien alert!) as he has always considered himself less desirable to the other female sa-khui due to his broken stump of a horn and physical scars. He's got emotional baggage due to his past family situation and does not want another repeat of his parent's life. But by kidnapping Liz, he has gone against tribe law and has repeated his father's past which had dire consequences and Raahosh has to answer for his actions.

Human slang with hilarious literal translations, erotic love making with interesting alien extras, a feminist heroine and a surly love sick alien makes for some hilarious sexytimes! Highly recommend reading these in order! It's more addictive this way and each book paves the way for the next one!

I have read several books in this series and have enjoyed them so thoroughly that I felt the need to go back and give them a review. I waited to review them assuming they would become formulaic and therefore not worth my time. However, I have been pleasantly surprised that each book, while having some recurring themes which are necessary for a series, has been an exciting adventure. This is the first sci-fi romantic series that I have really gotten into and now I understand the concept of "world building". Each book has the hook up between characters that one expects in a romance novel that are sexy and passionate and are enough to make a good story . But the way the author then adds new layers to the alien world whether it be flora, fauna, or other insights make this series absolutely fabulous. Add to that an overall well written and edited story and you've got a great set of books. Well done Ruby!

This was fun & interesting & suspenseful. Yes! Yes!!
The main character Liz is a firecracker from hell & has an attitude like nobody's business which keeps you going. She's a bit mean but understandably cause Raahesh took her away w/o permission at the end of the first one. She stands up for her rights & also wants to do things that the tribe won't let females do ... like hunt. she hates Raahesh at first. Eventually she grows to love him. Whoa she caused so much trouble in the tribal cave but it was so funny!!!

A twist in the story makes you believe in their feelings. I felt so bad for them. You still get a taste of all the characters from the 1st book with a good taste of their world. This was funny & exciting & kept me going. Have to read the next one. I want to hear about Kiera & aeheko. Hopefully they will resonate soon! Looking forward to Aeheko! Going to the next book.
The author is clever & imaginative & creative. Love these stories so much. So different to be pulled into their world. Very good writing. Highly recommend this series!
