Don't order this book until the download is fixed! You'll get an Unexpected Error message when you go to the table of contents that when closed takes you back to home. There is no getting beyond that message. Customer support is working on it and will refund the price, but I pre-ordered and started reading as soon as it was downloaded. Tech, hurry up, y'all. I'm dying here!
UPDATE
The problem has been resolved! It seems my first generation Kindle won't support some of the newest books. Customer service identified the problem, arranged for a current version of Kindle, and two day delivery. It should arrive tomorrow. I am a happy camper. :)
I just completed reading CELEBRITY IN DEATH. It was well worth the wait. True, there is less action, but Eve had to be allowed a breather sometime or the series would simply burn itself out. It was very interesting to observe her think, rather than fight, her way through. I do think some more consideration needs to be given to the character of her husband, Roarke. He seems to have lost some of his air of danger and has become more of a fantastically rich electronic geek who rarely leaves home unless it is to trudge along beside Eve. I appreciate his love of and devotion to her, but some of what initially attracted and intrigued Eve seems to have diminished. Maybe he needs another trip to Ireland and family to get him more active.
The at home scene between Peabody and McNab was refreshing. It was a nice touch and added some depth to their relationship. I wouldn't mind knowing what happened between Webster and his inamorata. What's with Summerset's strange absence from the estate? He is one of the elements that adds stability to the whole series, and suddenly, with no explanation, he's not there; then, POOF! He's back. The byplay between him and Eve is too vital to drop.
This is not the book with which to begin if new to the series. There are too many allusions to past plots and characters for this to be appreciated. Start at the series beginning. It is worth it.
I've got this new, sleeker, faster version of the Kindle and am ready for the next installment of the series.

Time and again JD Robb tells the amazing story of Eve Dallas and Roarke. The way she writes, you can picture yourself right there in the story. I think this entire series would make for excellent television.

Very disappointed in this book. I have read all the Robb books on my Kindle from the store. If you hadn't, read the other Indeath books you would have no feeling for the characters as they are presented. I loved the other books but not this one or New York to Dallas.
Robb or Roberts needs to get a new twist on the characters or quit this series and start something new. Roarke and Eve have too much dynamics to just let them die like this. There is no spark!

Anything written by JD Robb is great. I have read so many by her now that I have a hard tiime finding one that I haven't read. Even got my husband hooked on these books. We keep a list of those we've read to keep from duplicating our purchases. Celebrity in Death was great, but they all are.

I truly enjoyed this story line, with all the celebrity suspects. The by play between Dallas and Nadine was great. J. D. Robb has created a great cast of characters and continues to come up with great plots.

Dallas, Roarke, Peabody and McNab are like familyto me now. Have reread the series from the beginning, I have enjoyed wtching the charactors grow in their relationships with each other throughout the series. The type of read that you can't put down and when you finish one you are anxiously witing for the nest.

Nora Roberts aka J.D. Robb tells a fantastic story. Eve and Rourke seem more settled in this book, and the personal relationships among the other characters are still interesting. The plot in this book flows nicely and doesn't flag. I'm not going to be specific, but if you've read any of her previous "In Death" books, I suggest you don't hesitate to buy this one now. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and, as usual, am anxiously waiting for the next.

The US post office screwed up the delivery of this book, since they seemed to decide to stop delivering our mail because of the winter snows, but when they started again, the book was int he stack of mail!

Enough books already about being abused as a child!! Let's get a little real about being a police officer and married to one of the richest men in the world. I mean, after all........ put her in a facility.......its starting to interfere with the character.

If someone is paid for writing this kind of garbage I hope that he is paid below the liveable wage. That this should be considered worthy of being printed goes to show the level of education reached by the editor who passed it through for printing.

This author has become my most favorite. I have actually read all the books in the in death series up to this point. The series was recommended to me by a friend and I have been hooked every since. Hope she keeps up the good work.

I love this series. Although this book was good, I can't say it was my favorite. Worth the read if you're into the characters and you like to know what's happening with them but not a good place to pick up the series.

Still great Eve & Peabody action, with some Roarke for good measure. More in your head with clues, twists & turns, although I figured it out a bit sooner than usual. Still recommended to avid JD Robb enthusiasts like myself! On to the next......

I think I own every "In Death" ever published and I have loved them all! The author is master of storytelling weaving plots with twists and surprises. She has also developed a group of characters in this series that I enjoy spending time with over and over. I am hoping that at some point Dallas will get pregnant, because that will be hysterical!

Again I love this author. Her books are entertaining and make you want to read more. So far I have read most of her books. Including the ones she writes under the name of Nora Roberts. In my opinion she is the best!

I've been reading this series since the beginning. My only critic is that I find it horrible that to download the book on my kindle costs as much as buying a hard copy. Why would I just down load, Lost points for the kindle!
