## Sorry, I can't recommend this one. Normally I don't read novellas because, well...let's face it: they're too dang short. However, because I've liked the whole series, I thought I'd try it.
Not good. I didn't like Adam's manwhorish ways. At all. How he "does" countless women anywhere. On his desk, in his car, the back of a cab ( gross). He even tells the heroine in their first date, how he loves women too much to settle for one. Nice. NOT. Doesn't matter if you want something serious or casual, no woman wants to hear THAT on a first date.
Also, his inner dialogue left a lot to be desired. When they are getting naked he says to himself: Her body has some imperfections, I'm sure she wishes her stomach was flatter and her hips thinner...She has stretchmarks, but I love how soft her stomach is...Say what? Ugh. Lastly, can this guy be faithful to one woman? Doubtful.

Adam Spencer loves women. All women. Every shape and size, regardless of hair or eye color, religion or race, he simply enjoys them all. Meeting more than his fair share as the manager and head bartender of The Odyssey, a hot spot in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter, Adam’s comfortable with his lifestyle, and sees no reason to change it. A wife and kids, plus the white picket fence are not in the cards for this confirmed bachelor. Until a beautiful woman, and her sweet princess, literally knock him on his ass.
Sarah Cox has just moved to New Orleans, having accepted a position as a social worker specializing in at-risk women and children. It’s a demanding, sometimes dangerous job, but Sarah is no shy wallflower. She can handle just about anything that comes at her, even the attentions of one sexy Adam Spencer. Just because he’s charmed her daughter, making her think of magical kingdoms with happily ever after, doesn’t mean that Sarah believes in fairy tales. But the more time she spends with the enchanting man, the more he begins to sway her into believing in forever.
Even so, when Sarah’s job becomes more dangerous than any of them bargained for, will she be ripped from Adam’s life forever?
Review:
I've been racking my brain ever since I finished reading Easy For Keeps to remember if I've had the opportunity to read one of Kristen Proby's novels in the past. Don't get me wrong here- I fell in love feet first with the character and was enthralled by the storyline, but as part of the 1001 Dark Nights line up, I expected nothing less from neither. That being said, let me take two seconds to way 'Holy buckets of water!' What an amazing novel! This being the first time I've read one of her novels (Yes, I went back and double checked just to make sure I'm telling the truth), I was moved and catapulted in a world I had once wanted to be part of and bring hope to children who no longer knew where they could turn to for help - only Sarah helped battered women. Having suffered through grief after the death of her husband, Sarah must move on, if nothing more for her precious daughter Hailey and she does this by moving to New Orleans. A chance meeting at a grocery store where she realizes that her car won't scary brings confirmed bachelor Adam to her aid. To say that Sarah is apprehensive of his motives is putting it mildly, and yet, it doesn't discourage him in the least sine Adam keeps coming back to visit Sarah and Hailey often, even forming a bond with the 5 year old child. I love it when children are an integral part of the storyline rather than being barely utilized other than the few times they're mentioned. Hailey is an instant heart stealer and know how to turn up the cute factor - seeing her bond with Adam strengthen was probably the highlight of the book for me, although Easy For Keeps is a short and relatively quick read, no matter how much I wished I could have ever wanted it to be a full length novel, it still had all the elements I could expect from a book - love, romance, drama, only in a shorter timeframe. Quite frankly, I can't it to find out what else Kristen Proby has in store for readers since Easy For Keeps was just a teaser that barely quenched my thirst!

“Sarah?” “Yes?” I say, coming out of my own stupor, mortified that he has this effect on me. “What can I do for you?” “That’s a loaded question,”
Sarah is living the life of a single mother. After losing her husband all she does is working and taking care of her daughter Hailey, dating isn’t anywhere her top priorities. When she meets Adam as a result of one of Hailey’s disappearing acts, the attractive man awakens feelings she has buried deep inside after the death of her husband. Adam is a workaholic and doesn’t do commitment, he makes sure the women he spends time with know this. Meeting Sarah opens his eyes, makes him think of more, not just one night.
“I should go home,” she murmurs against my chest and plants a kiss there. “Can you stay?” I ask, surprising the hell out of myself. I always avoid sleeping over, at all costs. It just muddies things up. But I don’t want her to go.”
From the moment Adam meets Sarah he knows she’s different, he can’t treat her like his normal choice of women. And to his surprise, he doesn’t even mind, he wants to get to know Sarah – and her daughter Hailey – better. Sarah tries to keep things between her and Adam casual, even feels a bit guilty towards her husband for moving on. But she can’t deny the attraction between Adam and herself, and gives into her feelings. Together Adam and Sarah are hot and sexy, put Hailey in the mix and they’re a sweet family who enjoy spending time together.
Like other books in ‘the Boudreaux series’, Easy For Keeps is a sweet and enjoyable read without angst-y situations and over-the-top drama. Yes, since this is a novella all happens at warp-speed, but the realistic thoughts and actions of the characters make the story more believable. I just wish this was a longer book, Adam and Sarah are a great couple, I would love to read more about them in future Boudreaux books.
“I swallow and look at her perfect lips, then into her amazing eyes. Why have I been such a stubborn ass? Why couldn’t I admit before how much I love her? God, I almost lost her. “I love you, Sarah.”
I’ve enjoyed reading Easy For Keeps, I give this novella 4 stars.

There is nothing as fun as watching a carefree playboy meet the one woman who makes him decide to give up his man-whoring habits. EASY FOR KEEPS is a great addition to the series because it contains the sweetness, humor and sexy times that we've come to expect from Ms. Proby, but what I enjoy most about Ms. Proby's books is the low angst level.
Adam Turner is an equal opportunity lover of women and very unapologetic about it, but even he draws the line at getting involved with a single mother and her adorable little girl. But somehow, after playing the role of knight in shining armor to them, he can't seem to stay away from Sarah Cox and her daughter.
New Orleans is a fresh start for Sarah, away from the painful memories of the loss of her husband and a new relationship is certainly not part of her plan, but Adam is too tempting to resist and is exactly what she needs.
This book is like dynamite, a lot of power in a tiny package and I'm not ashamed to say that I wish there was more to it. Adam and Sarah had really great chemistry in and out of the bedroom and an easy relationship, which I enjoyed. Sarah was strong, smart and independent and with the dangers inherent in her job, she wasn't taking any chances, but I also love that she was open and willing to get involved again, without a lot of angst and drama. Adam was easygoing but possessive and protective but my favorite thing about him was his willingness to communicate easily with Sarah.
This was a very enjoyable and fast read, perfect for a lazy day.

Easy for Keeps (Boudreaux #4.5) by Kristen Proby

REVIEW:
Easy for Keeps in book 4.5 in the Boudreaux series by Kristen Proby and it is the perfect sexy, sassy, quick read story that grabs your attention from the get-go and makes you flip through the pages (or swipe you kindle screen) constantly as you don't want to stop ready. I finished this book in one setting and was so mad that I read it as fast as I did. It actually made me want to reread the entire series (which I plan on doing shortly). Easy for Keeps is the story of Adam Turner who owns the bar The Odyssey in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Adam loves the life that he lives and enjoys himself the company of women. It isn’t until a sexy and sassy social worker and her daughter stumble into his life that the life he once thought was what he wanted comes into question. Sarah Cox, who is a single mom and social worker, has ben able to handle herself and her daughter in any situation. She realizes that happy every after may not be in the cards for her and she is okay with that. It isn’t until Adam walks into her life that she starts to think that maybe she does deserve a happy ever after. Will Adam and Sarah be able to handle what life throws at them or will the dangers of Sarah’s job and the bachelor life that Adam once loved keep them apart.
LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK. It was a quadruple “s” threat- sexy, sassy, sweet, and short that you just can’t help but fall in love with it. Kristen is an AMAZING story teller and you can’t help but fall in love with all her characters. This is by far an amazing series that I highly recommend!

Love Adam!
Adam is Callie's best friend and business partner; we met him in her book... He's a confirmed bachelor and loves women too much to settle for just one. Short, stout, big, small; none of that matters to him, women are beautiful and he makes no bones about it...
I just knew when we got his story, it'd be sweet; I wish it would have been longer, I could have read several full length's about him alone lol we didn't get to know anything about his family or Sarah's family other than her sister in law and former deceased husband.... oh and cute little Hailey, who has the most adorable relationship with Adam.. I loved that....
Sarah is new to New Orleans with her baby and sister-in-law... a run in with Adam at a convenience store puts them on the path of spending a few hours together... then, when Sarah needs something she left in his car, he asks her out and she says yes...cuz...why wouldn't she?
I felt like for such a confirmed commitmentphobe , it didn't take Adam but a second to fall for Sarah and her daughter..... They fell hard and fast and I get that cuz this is a novella but still.... I thought his fall was gonna be longer and much more painful.... I like low to no angst though so I didn't mind it.... I also liked that there were no other women trying to start drama or bad guys who got away with bad guys in this one like the series is kind of known for... I'm still fuming over book one!
Overall, I love this story, I love the series and I can't wait to read more!

Easy for Keeps (Boudreaux #4.5) by Kristen Proby
eKindle Review

Author Kristen Proby offers up another smart, sexy and charming book in her 1001 Dark Nights Boudreaux novella, Easy for Keeps. At first I was a little put off by the heroine, but after learning her history it was easy to see that she was one tough, capable and self sufficient woman and she felt a man in her life wasn't a necessity. So big surprise when a sexy Good Samaritan turns this single mom's head. I loved their banter, their wickedly sexy times and everything in between.
New to New Orleans and her job Sarah Cox finds herself in a bind and must rely on Adam Spencer one morning to get her and her young daughter out of a bind. A little over three years since her husband died, Sarah is surprised to find she's attracted to Adam, but Adam has no problems letting his interest be known and to top it off he is instantly enthralled by her 5 year old daughter.
I loved the chemistry that surrounded these two almost immediately despite Sarah trying to deny it or not believing that Adam could be interested in her. Adam was a joy; I loved that he could be cool, calm and charming one minute and go all growly alpha man the next, but even then he was so charismatic. I always appreciate when couples can communicate easily from the start and can share their backgrounds, their hopes, fears and wishes with one another. The ease at which the accepted each other fully made their quick and intense romance easy to believe.
A bit of suspense, a whole lot of sexy good times and quite a few sweet moments made Easy for Keeps very easy to love.

I absolutely adore the easy, charming way that Kristen Proby brings readers into her stories and shares her characters and her plot lines – components that do more than paint romantic images – they shed light on life lessons and teach the importance of family, of love, of the limitless strength people are capable of when life throws chaos into their life.
Easy For Keeps – it’s quite the contradictory title because keeping anything is far from easy, but it also indicates that even when people aren’t looking to belong to someone…don’t believe in happily ever after, the most necessary individuals merge into their lives and overshadow everything else, creating a bond that refuses to break regardless of the obstacles that must be overcome.
Adam and Sarah's story illustrates the idea that life is meant to be lived, and it should never be taken for granted because in the blink of an eye, everything can change. Adam is rocked to his core by Sarah’s honesty and positive thinking. And Sarah’s daughter, Hailey, wraps Adam around her little finger and proves that he is way more capable of loving someone and believing in forever than he had originally thought.
Easy For Keeps is a sweet and steamy novella that brings a Boudreaux series supporting character into the spotlight and gives him what readers have wanted since meeting him in Callie’s story – a woman that possesses every part of his soul and a family that he wants more than anything else.

Easy for Keeps is a great addition to the Bordeaux series! It can be read as a standalone, but if you’re anything like me, I always prefer to read the books in order. Probably because it gives me as much time as possible with these characters I fall in love with!
I’m always a fan of any Kristen Proby book, she hasn’t steered me wrong yet! As short as this novella is, she completes the story and doesn’t make feel like it was rushed or had too much packed into it. This author knows how to write characters that are larger than the pages they are depicted on. I hate saying goodbye and it always leaves me anticipating the next book.
Sarah has a rough job and life has simply taught her to be cautious and...I have to say, she’s a complete badass. The best part about that it is, Adam is totally turned on my her strength and courage, the fact that she carries a gun and knows how to protect herself.
Adam is a yummy alpha, don’t get me wrong. A relationship between Sarah and a less dominate male wouldn’t believable. However, Adam is the perfect mix of strong, protective alpha, and a patient, supportive partner who understands when Sarah needs to be the one fighting her own battles. Don’t even get me started on how cute her daughter is, or how adorable Adam is with her.
This is quick, funny, steamy, and even has some action. It’s a fantastic read for when you don’t have a lot of time but want to read something with substance. Absolutely a 5 star re-read for me!

Easy For Keeps by Kristen Proby will have you begging for more! I seriously wished this story was full length because I wasn’t ready to let these amazing characters go, but in true Proby fashion, the book was wrapped up nicely with a very fulfilling happy ending. Despite its page length, Easy For Keeps has everything a romance fan desires.
Adam Turner loves women….and I mean LOVES women. Doesn’t matter their size, hair color or eye color, he has no problem sweet talking or dirty talking them straight to bed. When Adam first meets Sarah and her daughter, something changes. He claims he’s not cut out for marriage and children but with Sarah, everything is different. His feelings for this strong woman are fiercer than he’s ever experienced
.
Sarah Cox has just moved to New Orleans and the last thing she needs is a man like Adam sneaking his way into her heart, or even worse, her daughter’s heart. The only thing Sarah should be concentrating on his her daughter and her dangerous job as a social worker, but when push comes to shove, Adam proves just how great of a guy he is.
I LOVED Adam and Sarah and I bet you will too! If you need a quick romance with sweet characters who know when to bring the heat, Easy for Keeps is your next read. Reviewed by Jennifer for MNP!

Kristen Proby’s new novella, Easy For Keeps, in the 1001 Dark Nights is a new addition to her contemporary romance Boudreaux Series. This one follows co-owner of the Odyssey bar and playboy, Adam as he stumbles upon not one but two damsels in distress. Enter Sarah and her five-year-old daughter Hailey (aka Belle – because she loves Beauty and The Beast). Sarah is a widower who has decided to start a new life in New Orleans. She’s also a social worker for battered women and children, focusing on the difficult cases in the projects of New Orleans. She has a new case she needs to get too but first she needs to get her kid to school, if she can find her! Yep that's how the three stumble upon each other, Hailey has gone wandering around the grocery store, Adam finds her and Sarah is panicking. As the three lives become entangled more and more, the more they realize they've found what they were looking for.
This was a super quick, super sweet novella full of sexy scenes, sweet as sugar moments and in between all that, it shines a bright light on domestic abuse. I loved all three main characters and even the secondary ones. Definitely give this one a try and yes it can be read as a standalone. No worries with that!

With Kristin Proby we are always guaranteed a story that will suck us in emotionally and this short for 1001 Dark Nights is no exception.
Even if you haven't read the Easy Boudreaux series (but seriously you'll love the series) Adam and Sarah's book can be read as a standalone.
I would to see this couple get a full length novel to themselves because I found myself becoming very invested in their story very quickly.
Sarah is a single mom and Proby manages to convey the stresses and trials of her situation without bogging down the mood and tone of the book. She is the type of leading woman I like with obvious gumption and strength, not a delicate little wall flower.
Adam is one hot barman. The sex was always going to be hot with Proby doing the writing; but the way she touches on so many issues makes the novella seem much longer. There is no skipping of important plot points in order to slide in under the word count.
I love the interaction between Adam, Sarah and her daughter, the dialogue as always is realistic and really adds to the chemistry between this modern day family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and only wish there were more of them to come.

I love Kristen Proby, let me start by saying this. Her stories always pull me in and I never get bored of her words. Easy for Keeps is no exception.
In this book we follow Sarah and Adam. This is a very quick read and was so good I devoured it in under two hours! The story begins as sexy bar owner Adam finds little lost "Belle" in the grocery store. Upon returning her to her mother, he is captivated by her and her beauty. One thing leads to another and a broken down car has Adam taking these two around to do a few things for the morning since her car is out of commission. The playfulness of the two of them is just amazing and add in an adorable daughter, this was just a true story of second chances and finding love again after a tragedy. I truly engulfed myself in this book and loved how much character was brought to the book in such a short time.
Great job Kristen, I can't wait for your next story!

Review This is actually the only series that I have yet to read but I know that I need to go and click the rest of the series.
When Adam and Sarah first meet they don't exactly get off on the right foot, however there is an immediate connection, an intrigue that they both feel. This is a fast-paced HOT book that I enjoyed the hell out of, as I do with all of Kristen's books. The chemistry between the leads was burning and they are perfect for each other.
My favourite character was Hailey Sarah's daughter she captured my heart. She is so cute and funny and she had Adam wrapped around her finger instantly. And literally immediately Adam was protective over Sarah and Hailey when he realises the risk's with Sarah's job. Neither Adam and Sarah realise that they literally fall into love and a relationship until the very end.
Another fantastic read, I am off to read the rest of the series.

Just like every other book by this author, she has done another amazing job! I love this series.
Adam the sweet man-wore, who doesn't hide who he is. He's funny, loyal, protective and he will do anything for his friends. Being partner in owning the Oddessy, the best bar in town his life is easy. Then he runs into a woman who's a little down on her luck.
Sarah and her daughter Hailey have had a rough go at life. Sarah is a single mom and will do everything possible for her daughter. She is a brave woman who has endured a lot a long the way. Her job sometimes takes her to dangerous places. She loves her job, she tries to help everyone the best she can. Then she meets Adam. Sarah's world get a little more complicated.
These two together are a perfect match. It was such a great, fast, hot love story. I wish it was longer. Sometime easy isn't that easy.

Sarah is a sweet strong independent single mom with a heart wrenching job. Adam rough around the edges, but very assertive and loves women he does not discriminate. They are both grown consenting adults in for a fling, but life has other plans. She barely has anyone to count on in a new town and he beds them as they come, until he meets Sarah. Sarah stirs and shakes up Adams world in a way he cant control. It's not just a story of adjusting and accepting what life gives them, Sara as her little girl Haily and her job becomes dangerous. Almost something like someones real life story somewhere.
Quick entertaining read. I love this series.

A sweet novella from Boudreaux series, this story is about Sarah a strong and resilient single mom, and Adam, a convict single who is also the manager and head bartender of The Odyssey (if you read Easy Melody, you know him!).
Again, you can see old amazing faces in this book, and it was so warming and comfortable to read.
It brought the right amount of sexiness and suspense, an amazing little girl, a couple that started as just fun and grew to be so much more! It was adorable to read!
I can't get enough of Kristen's books!

I have so thoroughly enjoyed this series and when I eventually found this addition to it I just had to leap at the chance. This book featuring with a staff member, Adam Turner of The Odyssey. The most ever popular New Orleans hang out in the city. How simply he is just a complete playboy.
Adam is gorgeous and I'd quite loved by the women in town too. Especially when Callie Boudreaux, the co -owner of this establishment decided the times for closing. He just wasn't pleased at all! After meeting a young lost girl and finding netting her mother Sarah. I just knew both he and Sarah were the winners in this wonderful romance.
I thoroughly loved this most beautiful short story. So sweet and just so gorgeous I just didn't want it to stop!!

Once again Kristen Proby delivers in a way that will make you go aah. I loved that Sarah is a fighter and knowing the job she works in is also like a Florence Nightingale protecting others as best as she can. Adam is one hot guy and have to say poor Sarah had no chance at all with him. The chemistry between them is the kind that when it happens you do everything you can to keep it forever. Kristen Proby shows us once again that it is not the length of the story but the characters and passion between them that make it a great book like these two.

I have always loved Kristen Proby’s books and this one was no different. Her writing style is great and her stories always drag me in and keep me wanting more.
This book was a quick, easy read. It held my interest throughout the story.

Thoughts:
Another A+ read from an auto-buy author for me!!
Kristen's writing style always draws me in and makes me turn the pages faster and faster to see what her characters are going to do next! I read Easy for Keeps in one sitting and loved every word!
Adam is sexy and honest. Sarah is strong, fierce and yet vulnerable at the same time. These 2 find something together that they were not even looking for.

Easy For Keeps by Kristen Proby is a Boudreaux Series novella.
Meet Adam, he's a bar manager and bartender , player and doesn't do relationships, at all. Sarah is new in New Orleans, a single mom and social worker with a dangerous job.
I really liked their story, how the mighty can be tamed .
I give 4,5 star. Thank you Kristen Proby.

Not to sound repetitive, but Kristen Proby is amazing. Full story or novella her story telling is perfect. It's simple and sweet but still contains everything I've come to expect from a Proby story. In Easy For Keeps its Adam's turn to find love. Sarah is a strong, independent woman and just what he needs. Easy For Keeps reminds us love doesn't have to be complicated, life is short.
I was given an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I love Kristen Proby. Her stories are irresistible. Her characters are brash but still manage to convey that spark that deeply touches the readers heart. Easy for Keeps massages the heart from all sides. Cute kid, devoted mother, hot guy and possible family. Add in that edge of mystique that New Orleans brings and the senses will overload quickly. I now have to try to play catch up with the rest of the Boudreaux series.

Another swoon-worthy read by Kristen Proby! A fun sexy story that captures and pulls on your heartstrings. I did not want this story to end. You cannot help but fall in love with all of Kristen Proby's characters. It's an amazing series that I highly recommend!

Adam is the bartender that we met in Easy Melody that now co-owns The Odyssey with Callie. He's your typical hot guy bartender, sleeping with the women that throw themselves at him and never wanting to settle down. Then he meets Sarah and her princess little girl, and things change. He starts to feel things he never thought he would. Are these emotions scary? Hell yes! Does he care? No, Sarah is his - that's all he cares about.
For such a short book, this sure did have a lot of things going on. I liked that Kristen Proby was able to fit so many different scenes within the story that had me impatiently waiting for the end to come I was just so anxious to get finished so I knew what was going to happen with Sarah and Adam. From the beginning I knew something was going to happen, but didn't know exactly what it was, so I was hanging on to every word, anticipating what was to come.
Bottom line, this was the perfect read to enjoy in one sitting. The relationship was fast paced and easy, but there wasn't anything that was missed because of the shortness of the story. I really liked learning more about Adam, but now i'm even more impatient for the next Boudreaux series book.
