I discovered Marie Force last December as a free kindle download and have since read everything she has written, 20 or so books. She writes in series groups where you get to know all the characters and want to know more. Her writing is contemporary and encompasses current day events as well as in depth character strengths and weaknesses.

This book follows all of the fascinating characters that were introduced in the first book. These people continue to face trials, loves and heartache, and face each with heartwarming courage and strength. ENJOY.......

This series follows various members of the same families, I like to see the stories of the other people woven into later books. They all are easy reading romantic stories. Its become a bit predictable by the third books, but is entertaining enough to keep my interest.
Starting Over (Treading Water Series Book 3) :: Rapturous (Quantum Series Book 4) :: Virtuous (Quantum Series Book 1) :: Fatal Chaos (The Fatal Series) :: The Fall

I really liked this book. This is the inside story of what Clare when thru before and after the accident. It also has Kate's story too. I did get bored with some of the dialog, but then that just for you to see the whole picture. Love Maire Force's books !!!

Kate growing and learning that being an adult isn't easy. Jack having to let go. Maggie not liking being left out. Jill learning what she wants. Clare forging a new life & Aiden letting go of the pass to start a new life. Love the story. Although Reid's son needed to mind his own business. After all they're a all adult's.

What a great read -- finished in less than 24 hours!! Glad I was on vacation and didn't have to go to work. The story continues from book one-- Treading Water. A roller coaster of emotions and characters to enjoy and get lost in their story. You will enjoy this second installment -- plan to read till you finish!!

This Treading Water Trilogy was one of the best I have read in a long time. I cried, smiled and cried again. It was an emotional roller coster ride. Well written, loveable characters that make you want only the best for. All three books are page turners that you won't want to put down. A job well done by Marie Force as always.

if you are reading these reviews i highly recommend you read treading water first cuz this is the sequel. treading water is the story of jack and claire and the tragedy that tore them apart. claire was in a coma for 3 years and finally awoke to find her husband in love with another woman. in marking time it's now claire's story and how she copes with the loss of her marriage, however she ends up in love with aidan and all is right. along the way her middle daughter kate who is 18 years old goes away to nashville to pursue a career in music and falls in love with a much older man. there were other characters as well so it was fun reading about the others in the story. i highly recommend this book and i know you will enjoy it just as i did. we also look forward to the next installment starting over with aidan's brother brandon!!! i hope there will be more books in this series or even other contemporary books!! i read this on my computer all afternoon so now i can continue to read it again whenever i want!!

This book is just further proof that Marie Force is an expert at writing emotional but fun stories filled with characters the reader can relate to. Yes, this is a romance, but it really is so much more as the reader gains insight into how various events impact all members of the family.
I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book!

(mild spoilers) Let me first say that I love Marie Force books. I've read them all and thoroughly enjoy them. I had mixed feelings about Marking Time, however. While I loved Clare's second chance story, I was disturbed by Kate's story. I appreciate that it was not traditional, but frankly I was disgusted. I felt like I was reading "love scenes" that felt more like statutory rape. Yeah, Kate was legal by like a month, but does that really make a big difference? It didn't to me. I kept imagining if her birthday fell during her senior year and she was screwing her 45 year old math teacher or something. I thought it was just gross. Moreover, I think the Reid character was rather undeveloped. Are we supposed to forgive him because he's lonely and he has reservations about the whole thing initially? If you are a good person, you don't take advantage of your friend's 18 year old daughter who has survived a horrible tragedy. You just don't. I wish I could have had this book without what to me felt like an unnecessary, cringe-worthy B-story. But other than that, I really liked it. I love how Marie Force writes. She is one of my favorites for sure.

Clare Harrington is taking on a whole new life after recovering from her 3 year coma. Her husband has fallen in love with another woman and she is expecting twins. Wow! What more can Marie Force add to her series? Believe me, Marie can and does add more right up to the last page.

Yet another great book by Marie Force! I read through these 4 books in about 3 days! The age difference is unusual, but honestly, I enjoy reading something that isn't just perfect "beautiful tragically single woman meets handsome carpenter/doctor and falls in love." it adds something new :)

thanks Marie! I loved this series.... I hadn't wanted to read it because I read the discussion on facebook and everyone begs you to write more in this series and I didn't want to get too invested.... BUT I loved it!!! So heartfelt and real!! I couldn't put it down. And yes I'm on the bandwagon for you to write more... ONEDAY if the characters call to you.

I enjoyed the stories and all the different characters in the series written by Marie Force. Sometime the descriptions were a bit too detailed and could have left out parts, without hurting the stories. But you noticed, I did read all four books.
I would recommend the series to my friends because of the well written story plot etc...
Thanks,
Karen E.

I loved this book, but I must suggest strongly that you read book 1 first as this one builds on the first book. Was sorry when it ended and it ended much too soon, of course it was because I couldn't put it down. Marie Force does a great job describing her characters and you will enjoy each one of them.

when I bought the first book in the "The Treading Water Series", I was very sad for Claire because her husband (Jack) moved on and started another life. But in "Making Time", Ms. Force wrote a beautiful story for Claire. After reading the book, - My goodness, I just love Aiden.

I started with Treading Water and just finished Marking Time and I loved them both! The characters, the story and even the familiar places where everyone lives and visits kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning. Family, love, heartache and happy endings...love it!

Marie you simply out did yourself in this book. It had me laughing at the wittyness of Care and Aiden. Crying from Aiden's story at the reunion of Kate and her father. I couldn't put down the book. Totally recommended!!

After reading the first bookj in the series , I was looking forward to the others, but each book in the series became more and more sexually explicit and I found the story line deteriorated. This was a dissappointment.

After reading Treading Waters, I had mixed feelings on Clare. But I knew Marie Force would have me loving her by the time I read Making Time. The obstetrical that both Clare and Adian have had to over come bring you in so quickly. The love they share is special. A must read!

This was another excellent love story. There are 4 books in this series. You will need to read Treading Water first to fully understand the storyline. These books deal with things that can happen in real life and how real people react.

An interesting insight in to the art of forgiveness and the old story of when one door shuts a window is opened Lots of good adult situations that adult readers can relate to and feel a part of. The emotions that are delved into allow for a realistic look at some potent adult situations
