Love the story, anxiously awaiting part two. Double check typos though. Computers don't always catch it if the word exists. A bit annoying to find things like "it" where "at" should be, or the wrong tense of a word.

I think this series was trying to do too much right from the start, which made for a confusing intro to the characters, world & story. Throws way too much at the reader in the first couple of chapters and the personal chemistry angle came off as trite and awkward. I got bored and annoyed 6% in. I was going to finish for the sake of finishing but just couldn't care. If you want well written books in this type of genre, there are a lot of authors who can deliver better than this. I would recommend checking out Donna Augustine or even Jen Bennett for something different.

Morgan is a secretly powerful being, and she is not even aware. She hasn’t fit in anywhere before, but at the Academy, she meets a team that becomes her family. I mentioned before that I love fated romances. And it seemed like that’s how this would turn out, too. I won’t say much more but if you’re uncomfortable with the terms “mate,” “bonded mate,” or “polyamory,” then you might not enjoy this book all that much. It’s NOT a romance. But, as with many supernatural books, everyone has fated “mates.” In this case, it seems our girl Morgan has multiple fated mates. Don’t worry, it’s not explicit. And everyone gets cool tattoos out of it!

I say this book is a guilty pleasure, but there are also some SUPER awk phrases, especially when she first meets her team. Let me just give you a small sampling:

“She almost wished the shifter would spot her just so she could see the color of his eyes–she bet they were a deep brown a girl could get lost in.”

“He stared at her is if he knew her and had waited a lifetime to find her.”

“She shivered, easily imagining how he would be with a woman.”

Cringe-worthy.

But I kept reading. The Lord only knows why. In the end, I enjoyed it. She’s got cool jewelry. Runes tattooed on her body. She’s super important for a few reasons, but I won’t tell you why. And she’s a badass woman who kicks butt, wears leather, and owns way too many weapons!

The Academy of Assassins is the first in a series, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next book! Add it to your Guilty Pleasures list!

Academy of Assassins is one of the best paranormal romance books I've read in months! Great story line - lots of action and adventure. Lots of good character development. And the sexual tension is awesome. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

I really enjoyed the story, and the characters. I really wish we could see more from the POV of the different guys, but Brutger does a great job pulling you in regardless. I am looking forward to the next book.

This was one of the better books that I've read this year. It was paced nicely, the characters were relateable, and the plot was interesting. The world the author crested could have been explained a little more in the beginning but the details come out as the book goes on. Loved it, and can't wait for the next one.

This book is good for the PG and PG 13 crowds when it comes to romance, there is actually less action in that respect than in Twilight. But over all I thought the book had a good pull to it... the story moved nicely, there were a few turns and the ending was satisfying enough that if a part 2 never came out I wouldn’t cry, but I still want to read more about Morgan and her reverse harem.

Kept my interest from start to finish and has left me ready to continue onto the next book in the continuing saga. Only problem I have is having to put the book down and go to work. Please keep the story going.

This book could have been great. It had everything needed to create a 'suck you in and leave you dying for more' book. Sadly, this fell really short. If this story line had been written by Sarah J Maas or Richelle Mead, it would have been phenomenal! But this author just rushed through the entire story. The conversations didn't flow AT ALL. They were so stilted and confusing. She would take you from point A to point Z without covering everything in between. There were several times I had to re-read a passage because I had no idea what was happening in the conversation and thought I had just zoned out for a minute. But no, the writing was just that bad. She skipped all the details that make you fall in love with a character and the story line. If the characters and the scenes had been hashed out more, I would have really loved this story. But it felt like an abridged version where they took out all the small details thinking they wouldn't be missed. Unfortunately those small details are what make a book great. And this one just didn't do it for me. So while this book sounds great, it was way more frustrating than interesting and I will not be continuing on with the series. If you want an awesome series about assassins and fantasy I would highly recommend Sarah J Maas Throne of Glass series. That one is phenomenal!

I am anxiously awaiting for the second installment of Academy of Assassins. No small feat, as I problem solve for a wage and live outside of the box most people reside in. This book will capture you and wrap your free will up in duct tape.

Good plot line. Characters very well done and easy to relate to. Nice writing style. Flows fast so you stop reading words and see the story unfold in your imagination. Recommend for any Paranormal, Fantasy, or Sci-fi fan. New to the genres good starter book to try. Doesn't bog you down trying to explain EVERYTHING paranormal. Just simply rolls along.

I've gone through so many RH books lately that the mc and her guys are in love by page 5. Strong female character that kicks ass and isn't concerned with others opinion. Slowly gathering her boys. Good book worth reading.

For someone who started with no one, then gets everything she NEVER believed she would have - trusting people, loyalty, family. Who would need more than that? Discovering herself to be than anything she could dream about? Surprising story

I really loved this book I read it a while ago but I am having withdrawals waiting for the second book! This was one of the first reverse harmen books I read and I love how all the guys have their own personalities.

I was pleasantly surprised with this one!

As soon as she was marked I was deliriously chanting "Ascher, Ascher, Ascher!" To myself as I speed read along to find out who it was.

On to the next one!

It's different than what I have been reading recently. Overall enjoyed being taken on Morgan's journey. Through the ups and downs. Finding the answers of her past while over coming weaknesses. Looking forward to the next journey and the small reprieve from every day life.

I enjoyed the story and it flowed well, but it would have been more satisfying had the characters been a bit more three dimensional. Hopefully, the next books will slow down a bit and developed the characters more.

I picked this book up on a whim because I was bored and ended up not wanting to put it down! The characters sprang to life in my head and I found Morgan a nice mixture of strengths and weaknesses. Can’t wait for the next one!

The title of this book immediately captured my attention. The story didn't disappoint, it kept me reading from start to finish. I didn't put it down. If you like a story with a strong female lead and multiple love interests with a mysterious background this is the book for you! I can't wait for the next one!

The story is extremely habit forming for me. I cannot wait for the next books in the series. Very well written. The only thing I found myself wishing for was a good raunchy sex scene with all that tension flying about!

LOVED this book! Definitely a page turned. I didn't want to put it down throughout the whole thing. Morgan is a fantastic character trying to be her own person and not get tied down to any one person, boy was she in for a surprise.

I loved this book! It's filled with non stop action and keeps you interested with every. single. word. I got so interested in the book that I read it all in one day ??‍♀️ Now all I have to do is wait for book 2 to be written and released so I can read that one as well ? Great job Stacey Brutger!

It almost reminded me of vampire academy but better. It is definitely like a Manga. I would love to see this made into a movie or drama but I’m pretty sure Hollywood would ruin the story line! Highly recommended if you’re into supernatural beings!

Academy of assassin's was good but kind of overly dramatic and predictable. For a strong female lead who seems to think very highly of herself, she seems to fall apart and need help from the big strong boys often. It's kind of irritating after a while hearing her inner dialog constantly saying how awesome she is with sometimes weird and inappropriate emotional responses. Overall, basic story was ok but characters need way more depth.

A couple words in the description would saved me time and disappointment. I was completely invested in the story (why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1) and suddenly the heroine has multiple mates. What a bummer. Will pass on this author and be more careful next time before trying anyone new. At least I didn't actually waste my money, but I did waste my time.

I would give the story three and a half stars, but I have to take away some of that because of the swearing. If it weren't for the language I would most likely purchase more books from this author, but because of the language I won't be buying any of her other books. Curse words aren't an essential part of a story and authors could probably sell more books they were content with using "he cursed" instead of the actual word. Let the reader use their imagination if they're okay with swearing. That way you dont lose potential readerd who don't enjoy reading books with that type of language.

I wish is read the 1 star reviews BEFORE starting this one. I'm only 25% through and started to get suspicious.....yep, it's recess harem novel! It's a shame because it had potential at the beginning.

Ugh, this is a reverse novel. If you don't like books where the main character has multiple love interests at the same time, I would suggest you avoid reading. Otherwise, I enjoyed the book about 70% of the way through. If you don't mind reverse harems, you will probably like this book. Not for me.

The author is a very good writer. The book is easy to read and the main heroine is likeable and appealing. However, the book's main love interest (Kincade) displays a typical abusive behavior. I am not sure where the author observed it, but this type abusive and aggressive behavior presented as 'love' is unhealthy and could be very damaging. Especially, when the audience are youth readers. This is the reason for one star - the potential damage far exceeds any enjoyment from this book.
