I feel just like the little house did about living among the hustle and bustle of the city. I love country living. I am going to buy this and other. Virginia Lee Burton books for my elementary classroom students to enjoy!

Our toddlers love the graphics and are quite interested in the story line. We live in the country but visit grandparents in the city so they can relate to both worlds, but we do love spreading out in the country most of all!!

This book is fantastic! The board book edition, however, is missing a lot of the story. Highly recommend purchasing the original book, with paper pages - the full story is what makes it so wonderful. I loved this book as a child and now my 22-month old son insists I read it to him almost every day. Such an amazing story and the illustrations are just perfect!

Beautiful vintagey illustrations and very sweet story. I hadn't read this book since I was a child, and I had forgotten how wonderful it was. I love Virginia Lee Burton books, we have Katy and the Big Snow and would highly recommend that one as well. My son is 5 months old and these books are a little bit too lengthy and wordy for him but he enjoys looking at the illustrations. I can't wait to read this to him when he is older, there is a lot to discuss on each page because of the detailed illustrations.

I hope she can pass it on to her own children. I still have the copy given to my daughters about 30 years ago. Now I must debate between Katy and the big snow or Mike Mulligan for the next gift. I like this problem.
