A Guide for Students of the Social and Behavioral Sciences

This book is well organized, gives lots of practical and concrete tips, and is very easy to read (almost too easy). When I got it, I was a little shocked how simply it was written. However, now that I'm referring to it often, I am grateful for its simplicity.

The book is awesome. I have skimmed it and will be using the tips within to make my understanding of literature reviews and the writing of literature reviews much better. Thanks for the reccomendation the store!

I purchased this book for a class I needed to take but unfortunately they do not buy it back. It is an "international version" and it does not have an ISBN. If you plan on re-selling the item, please make sure you do not buy this one.

I am reading the book for my Nursing Research class and it's not that exciting but was required reading. Good for those writing papers in school and the types of research, etc. Book arrived in excellent condition and had no issues with my purchase!

This text was essential when writing my master's thesis in Education.I had written several research papers with literature reviews before, however,this text was able to answer any and all questions I may have had. Literature reviews are the most labor intensive aspect of writing a research paper as they require one to read mountains of other research, take notes, then synthesis the information into a coherent background for the research that the rest of the paper covers and this book gives a thorough explanation of the rational as to how the literature should fit into the paper as a whole.

If you're writing your first literature review, this is the book for you! I purchased it as a required text for a graduate-level writing seminar. Galvan synthesizes everything you need to know to produce a quality review of the literature. The chapters are short and the text is easy to read. Additionally, there are 7 sample literature reviews included.

One more thing to keep in mind, purchase an APA or MLA handbook to be sure your citations are in correct format.

Shame on the store.com!! I just double-checked on the publisher's website for the 2006 paperback version which is being sold for $95 on the store. Guess what - same item is listed by the publisher at $49.95! Whatz up with that!!!
And this is a great book for students who want to learn the art of writing quality work...
