Highly recommended for those suffering chronic health ailments. I have been bedbound x 2years, underwent brain surgery last May and suffered from a variety of auto-immune, low immunity, joint ailments and new allergies in mid 40's. As a Registered Nurse myself, who experienced a severely fragments healthcare system, only to never find a physician who could look at me systemically; I immediately understood w this book and integrating Donna Eden's practices! Thank you Amy

What a fantastic book! Chockfull of insights, stories, wisdom and basic health information that can change your life--all shared in a loving, easy to understand manner. Amy Scher wants the reader to get well, you can feel her support and enthusiasm bouncing off every page. Lots of practical information, but even the stuff that stretches beyond the typical Western mindset is presented in a way that feels inviting and doable. Which is the point the book: How to take responsibility for your own healing, be it physical, mental, emotional or even spiritual. Can't recommend it enough.

Absolutely love the book. From the first pages I could not stop until page 50 in one seating.
Very well written. Even though I have still a lot to go, I already see that is very helpful.
Extremely recommend to anyone interested in their own health, and ready to take the journey in their own hands.

After many, many years and thousands and thousands of dollars spent struggling to find answers to my chronic health problems, I can say without doubt that Amy Scher's book is the single best thing I have done for my health. This book is packed full of useful information and practical tools, but it is presented in such a clear and usable format, that even after the first day of picking this up and trying out the practices, I felt shifts in my health and wellbeing. Amy Scher lays out a doable path for anyone willing to take regular steps toward healing, even micro-steps in these practices can bring about big changes. Yes, there are many layers to this work, and it's not a "quick fix." But I can honestly say that I have improved in leaps and bounds in the last four months that I have been using the tools I learned in the book, which is now dog-eared, underlined, and all marked up from constant use! I can't recommend this enough for anyone who is ready to and willing to take a deep breath, exhale, and settle in for a new kind of journey to health.... One that is kind, gentle, and delivers you to YOU, instead of just improving symptoms (but it does that too!).

I believe the book is courageous because Amy is not afraid to teach you everything you need to know to clear your subconcious beliefs on your own. She is giving you the tools to master your emotions in one of the most clear books I have read on the subject. So many people have methods but they can't communicate and Amy has hit it out of the park with this book. I encourage anyone who is tired of being angry or depressed or anxious to pick up this book.

If you are new to learning about energy healing I would highly recommend this book!! Amy Scher introduces you to various energy healing techniques in an easy to understand format. There is so much information that she provides that will enable you to begin your self healing with no hesitation or confusion. Amy's personality is very lively and real in her writing and it feels like she genuinely wants to help you on your healing journey. It is like having a best friend cheering you on! I am already benefiting from it and will reference it again and again.

Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! I would love to say "brilliant" even more times, but that would not make this review very exciting to read :-). I am a self-healing believer who has had unfortunately quite a diverse array of conditions to heal - lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, horrible life-long atopic eczema and for the last year and a half the worst of it all - topical steroid withdrawal syndrome (also called "red skin syndrome", which is physically and mentally challenging beyond words). Doctors and western medicine made only things worse (please google “red skin syndrome” if you wish to learn more about the risks of steroid cream usage, but I have to warn you – it is painful to look at).

On my self-healing journey I have discovered many wonderful techniques to cope with the symptoms of the steroid withdrawal syndrome - Healing codes, EFT, self-hypnosis, visualisations, quantum healing and others. When the suffering is so great that life becomes too hard, you simply do all you can to “save” yourself. I have read self-help books and hundreds of articles all over the internet, but no source is as complete, easy-to-digest and empowering as Amy B. Scher's book about self-healing. The methods are all wonderful (I have already witnessed the wonders of EFT before) and as for muscle testing, I now consider it to be the missing link in my self-healing journey. The messages in this book are so heart-warming and powerful! This truly is the self-healing bible for the sensitive soul. I just have to stop "ingesting" more books and methods, because I truly have all the information that I need to fully heal.

I would also like to recommend two other books that I loved - How to Heal Psoriasis From The Inside Out: An Energetic Perspective
and EFT Tapping for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, M.E and Adrenal Fatigue: Self-help Treatment Guide for Healing and Recovery: FREE Video Tapping Tutorials (Chronic ... EFT Tapping, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia)

Self healing without the "foo-foo". A lot of energy healing therapist/therapy are a little out there for my taste. I can never really connect with them. Amy, however, is very down to earth and explains things on a level that anyone, from beginner to expert, can understand and appreciate. Whether you are sick, depressed, have anxiety or any other issue that may be holding you back you can benefit from this book and Amy's teachings.

This warm-hearted, holistic, completely realistic guide to healing what the doctors can't solve doesn't speak of "inner" and "outer" healing as if they were separate. It speaks of how the two are inextricably linked, that they are melded into one another via our subconscious beliefs -- the reactions to past experiences that still determine so much of our day, as well as our health, our reactions to life, and our whole quality of life.

It begins with the harrowing page-turner that is the story of Scher's own illness--the kind of debilitating, paralyzing virus or disorder that we pray never happens to us. After years of constant pain, fruitless therapies, and medications that work only partly or not at all, the tide finally turns when one doctor informs her, "You have the power to heal yourself."

That begins a whole new journey, one that takes her to try Chinese medicine in London and healing places in India, before she gains the realization that her illness has been fulfilling a function in her life--saving her from having to fully live her life. She begins to admit to the buried fears and inner energy blockages, and from there, Scher's search transforms.

She is no longer seeking merely the perfect pill or treatment. Now she is taking full responsibility for her outer condition, and the inner conditions of unresolved pain, sadness, grief, anger, feelings of helplessness that have enabled the illness--the myriad blockages that make it safer for us to be ill than fully functioning.

She beautifully comments at one point, "You are not here to find that perfect doctor who will reconstruct your body and extract all of the bad feelings you have. You are here to talk to your soul. You are here to practice being kind to yourself, no matter where you are. You are here to transform your life into the enjoyable experience it is meant to be."

The book then takes off--the majority of it is a workable manual of how you and I can face the hidden fears, losses, shocks, and anger that hold us back. Not always with a life-threatening disease, perhaps. But with headaches or insomnia. Upper respiratory illness or allergies. Lack of intimacy or fear of being our authentic selves.

The techniques that are clearly outlined in this book are priceless, and I know from personal experience that they can transform and release the hidden beliefs that have us on autopilot, creating the same problems over and over throughout our lives. Some are intergenerational, some come from childhood, and some from past lives. The techniques described include Scher's own "Thymus Test and Tap," as well as the well-known Emotional Freedom Technique, the Sweep, Chakra Tapping, and the Three Hearts method.

If you are wondering why you never feel that well, why you cannot seem to get past an ongoing feeling of stress and anxiety, why you can't drop the weight, or why the doctors can't figure out what's wrong -- this is the book for you.

This is the great, beautiful gift from the Universe that you have been silently pleading for. Don't ignore it -- open the gift, and claim it. I cannot recommend this beautiful, well-written, grounded-in-reality book highly enough.

I have read many books on energy healing and this one covers everything all in one book in an easy to understand format. The best part of the book in my opinion is the emphasis on muscle testing. I discovered muscle testing from "The Emotion Code" by Bradley Nelson. That book helped me make progress on my healing journey, but I felt it was limited because it only deals with releasing trapped emotions. This book includes trapped emotions, EFT, a script to release beliefs from the subconscious and even more. I had also read about and practiced EFT from other books but had limited results. Through muscle testing I can find which method works best to release each problem, rather than using only one method and hoping that it works. I appreciate that the author makes it clear many times that it doesn't have to be done in a certain way or order to work, any releasing is going to help. For someone like me who is a bit of a perfectionist and always looking for the "best" way to do things, this really helped me to relax and realize that I am on the right path. Since starting with energy healing my intuition has become much stronger and I frequently get flashes of insight from my subconscious that I was never open to receiving before. I am going to continue on my healing journey using techniques from this book and will update when I feel the time is right.

Having healed from two near-death experiences far beyond what doctors ever expected, I understand the power of self-healing.

Full Disclosure: I recently interviewed Amy Scher for our Inspire Nation Show - So inspirational!!!

I also recently interviewed Mitch Horowitz, a Law of Attraction Expert. His answer to healing was simple, throw the kitchen sink at it.

Well, Amy's book IS the kitchen sink and more (in the very best way) when it comes to healing as an inside job. She leaves no stone unturned with positive, powerful techniques for healing and when you're healthy, keeping you healthy and happy. It's truly a beautiful book.

Many of the techniques I've seen in various books, though never compiled in one place, and many more are truly unique. Personally, I'm going back to the Thymus tapping I found in her book, a way to use EFT or tapping I'd never heard suggested this way. From energy healing, affirmations, gratitude, mantras, tapping, muscle testing (in a way you've never done before) and so much more, this book helps you work on the wiring that could be keeping you from a return to perfect health.

Forget about getting this book when all else fails, Get This First...You'll radically short-cut the process, and however the outcome, you'll feel better body, mind and spirit, each step of the way!!!

I've struggled with chronic physical issues (IBS) for my entire life. Finding this book was an answer to a prayer.... really. I said a quick prayer at Barnes & Noble to lead me to something that could help, and Amy Scher's book ended up in my hands. I breezed through it in less than two weeks, and it was such a relief to know that I wasn't alone, that there were other people with bodies resistant to healing, and that it wasn't my fault. The book led me to find the unprocessed emotional experiences in my past that were contributing to my illness. Most importantly, the book offered solutions and exercises that allowed me to heal past trauma, put healing back in my hands and help me feel empowered again. I highly, highly recommend this book, especially if you've tried everything else and still feel sick. I feel like I'm healing and coming alive again.

Book mentioned only 5 techniques to heal oneself. The book is mostly a biography about the author's own life, not the skills one needs to find a physical equilibrium while healing the psyche and mind. Recommend Susan Kalior's Self-discovery workbooks instead.

Amy Scher is an amazing healer because she traveled her own journey from illness to health and wants to share how with the world. She has truly helped me heal Mind, Body & spirit and now through this life changing book "How to Heal Yourself When No One Else Can" you too can feel good again, feel whole, feel peace. And once you feel good you want to help others feel as good as you do. It's a ripple effect. I highly recommend this book. It will change your life.

Amy Scher has written an easy-to-read, yet totally comprehensive & extraordinarily powerful how-to manual on the strange connection between the mind and the body that somehow makes it less strange. While traditional allopathic medicine is certainly one of the greatest advances in human technology, it remains insufficient for total healing in many cases because it does not address the role of the psyche in illness. By removing old mental blockages and releasing limiting thought patterns (some we didn't even know we had), we certainly pull ourselves closer to the state of joyful health we want.

This is an amazing book. Amy makes the healing process seem so easy by giving gentle steps that anyone can do. I used the book as a self-discovery journey and went step by step through each chapter. I learned so much about myself and I"m already feeling hope for my healing! Thank you, Amy!

I am loving every page of this book...the beautiful cover, the flowing layout, the easy (but powerful) self-healing techniques, and the stories and the hope they create. Amy B. Scher's writing style is fun, supportive, and easy to read and understand...which is creating the perfect atmosphere for healing to begin. Definitely a favorite book on my shelf!

I have been dealing with terrible pelvic pain since October of last year. Emergency room, urologist, physical therapy etc did not help. Started reading about mind body healing. Read books by several authors and after reading this book and applying some of the techniques, I am feeling symptom free. It makes sense and the author explains things in a way that is easy to understand and implement. I recommend this book to anyone looking to truly heal.
