Allen Eskens is a fantastic writer. He somehow includes you in his stories because you feel like so many of the characters are your friends. Now that I've read all three of his books I'll have to take a break until the next one is published. October can't come soon enough!

This is an excellent crime story and legal drama. Well written, it moves smoothly throughout the story. Through many twists and turns you will never lose interest. Liked his first book a lot, but this was even better.

I enjoyed this book a great deal, having purchased it after finishing "The Life We Bury". Mr. Eskins writes rich, rather complex characters that maintain a secret or two. Enjoy this author's work much more than I'd expected to! I plan to read his other novel soon, as well.
A gripping psychological thriller with an ending you won’t see coming :: The Third Wife: A Novel :: Sister Sister: A gripping psychological thriller :: The Truth We Bury: A Novel :: The Lexus and the Olive Tree - Understanding Globalization

I actually pre-ordered this book before it came out because I love everything else I had read by Allen Eskens. Once again I was not disappointed. Excellent characters excellent reading don't know who it is till the end everything wrapped up perfectly and still leaves you waiting for the next one. Hard to find books as good as this one

I really enjoy Eskens writing style. Read The Life We Bury first - if you haven't yet - not because you need to read that novel to follow this one, but because of Eskens 3 novels, I still think the first is his best. But this is a solid, engaging and thoughtful read. He writes characters that are well developed, very 3 dimensional, who readers can identify with and care about.

I could not lay this book down. From beginning to end it was intriguing. I loved the twists and turns in the readers mind trying to figure out who the murderer was. My book club recommended this book for this month and I'm excited to see how the other members felt about this book.
