The book was okay. Considering the depth of Pia Saves the Day and the newness Peanut goes to School this was almost disappointing and definitely not wort the $3.99. The other stories were cheaper but more interesting. Sorry this was worth about $1.99 maybe $2.99 but definitely not $3.99. I was perhaps too eager for Pia & Dragos storyline when clicked purchase. There was only one twist.

I realize that Thea Harrison writes paranormal romance, but really, this is mostly sex with very little plot thrown in. I really like most of Harrison's writing, and think that Dragon Bound is one of the best paranormal romance novels I've ever read, but she burned out on this one. Unfortunately, this story is probably a set-up for the other two short stories that are going to follow, so you are going to have to read it to know what is going on.

I started out loving all of her Elder Races books and I've just kind of started falling out of love with them. They all seem more and more forced and/or repetitive with the themes. And Pia was such a cool character to begin with, very much a stronger person and more confident in herself. Since the first book she has gone downhill. I get that she's a mom and she's in love, but I've met way more kick-ass soccer moms in my real life. She has become such a whiny wimp. I'll continue trying to read the Elder Races books, because they were so good. But they're definitely not what they used to be.

I have all the short stories concerning Pia, Dragos and Liam. This story line could have been written in 5 pages and should have been free on author's website. It seemed like an attempt to get something out by release day with no substance.

DRAGOS GOES TO WASHINGTON is the latest installment in Thea Harrison’s adult Elder Races paranormal, romance series, and the first in her three-story novella series focusing on Dragos, Pia and Liam Cuelebre. I would recommend reading this particular novella series in order although some background about the original series is beneficial for overall enjoyment

Told from third person perspective (Pia) DRAGOS GOES TO WASHINGTON follows the Wyr royal couple as they embark on a week-long engagement to Washington DC as part of a peace keeping assembly involving the Elder Races and humankind. But all does not go according to plan, when the vice-president’s husband is murdered and all clues point to a supernatural murder. Meanwhile, the mating frenzy takes over for Pia and Dragos, and our leading couple find themselves taking every available opportunity to try and make a baby.

DRAGOS GOES TO WASHINGTON has a little bit of everything-politics, discrimination, murder, betrayal and plenty of $ex as Dragos and Pia enter into the mating frenzy. The world building continues to focus on the tepid relationship between the supernatural races and humans; the race to the finish finds our leading lady in a precarious situation. The murder mystery is solved rather quickly without any fanfare or time invested into a lengthy investigation.

Thea Harrison has written a story for the fans of her Elder Races. We get a quick look at some of the previous storyline couples-by way of mention or presence-as well as the continued animosity between species and mankind. DRAGOS GOES TO WASHINGTON is an enjoyable novella-a quick read that follows the Wyr first family, and their attempts to maintain peace in a volatile situation.

This review is not an indictment of the writers ability. This is about the ripoff by the author and her publishers. I was leery about getting this book; however, I wanted to see where the author was going with this story. Well, I saw exactly where the author was going with this story. This is an author that is milking her reader's engagement with the characters to milk them of their money. The story is enjoyable; however, it is not worth $4.00, it is more like $.99. This story is 60 percent about Pia and Dragos making love, there 2 incidents that take up another 25 percent and the rest is details. Then there is the next 2 novellas. This author is charging $12.00 for what is in essence a complete novella or one book that could have been a sub of one of the other books, (where she regularly charges. $8.00). These novellas should be in the $.99 price range with a $3.99 price for one book with all three novellas. This is greed at its ugliest. I became part of the problem by buying this novella; I will not continue to part of the problem by being a sucker.

“How exactly does one break the news to her husband that she's standing in a closet with the dead body of one of their dinner guests?”

DRAGOS GOES TO WASHINGTON by Thea Harrison is 129 pages of Elder Races' awesomeness. It's first novella in a trilogy within the series (8.5, 8.6 and 8.7). It combines passion, paranormal politics and unique, primarily dragon family dynamics, into a wonderfully entertaining tale. This tale grabbed my attention from the very first and didn't let go until the wondrous last sentence. Along the way, I laughed, swooned, found myself on the edge of my seat and shed a few tender tears.

You should know that I'm a huge fan of the series. I love these short stories in the series as they provide yummy tidbits about the characters, in this case, Dragos and his mate, Pia. It just so happens that Dragos, Pia and Liam, their adorable son, are my favorite characters in the series and hold a special place in my heart.

Dragos' and Pia's smoking chemistry and charisma absolutely scintillates these pages. They are so perfect together that I am amazed, dazed and happy just remembering how they interact. Dragos is an old, tough dragon, but his connection with Pia is distinctly fresh, raw, doting and tenderhearted. She has him wrapped around her little finger and I love every minute. Their mutual love, care and concern for each other is heartbreakingly beautiful to behold.

Supporting characters in this story include many previous heroes and heroines from former tales in this series, including Niniane, or "Tricks," and Tiago, her mate. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with them and many more.

The Elder Races' world that Thea has created continues to amaze me with her creativity and shows no signs of getting old. Her word and world building are both utterly incredible. I only wish Thea could write as fast as I inhale her books!

I am not going to post a snynopsis nor a spoiler besides saying that there is some very exciting news disclosed within this story that will leave fans happy dancing and delightfully anticipating events to come!

To fully appreciate this installment, I believe that the reader should have some prior knowledge of the Elder Races world and have, at the very least, read the first book in the series which featured Dragos and Pia and introduced the Elder Races (DRAGON BOUND). That should not be a hardship since every book in this series has been a treat.

Dragos Goes to Washington by Thea Harrison is book 8.5 of her fantastic Elder Races series. This is a novella that starts off a new trilogy with two more books coming in Novemb er and December. I love this series, and always look forward to whatever Thea gives us with the Elder Races.

In Dragos Goes to Washington, the story picks up after the last full length book, which had many deaths for the Nightkind. Because of this, all the Wyr are attending a meeting in Washington with humankind to discuss peace.

Before they leave for Washington, Dragos and Pia (we never have enough of them together) make a rash decision to try for another child, since Liam is growing up too fast. The sex scenes between these two are always off the wall, especially this drives Dragos mating urges close to the top. Heaven forbid anyone comes close to Pia or tries to offer help. LOL Time to run from the fire of the dragon.

Before they leave, Pia begins to get sick, constantly throwing up often, and she hides this from Dragos, knowing how important this meeting is. At the party, the tension is high, as they meet the humankind President and Vice President. Dragos senses the Vice President and other high ranking members are cloaking their scent, which is a danger signal to him. Before the night is out, a high ranking official is murdered, and all eyes are on the Wyr, as the guilty party. Dragos and Pia work together to find the real culprits, who are behind this new attempt to destroy the peaceful relationships of the Wyr and Humankind.

To tell too much more would be spoilers. I loved being able to see many of our favorites again. This was a sexy, fun storyline, with action and mystery. There will also be more revelations that will lead to the next two books in this novella trilogy. I cannot wait for the next one, Pia Goes to Hollywood.

Nothing made me happier than having Dragos and Pia come back to the Elder Races series as main characters, but these fantastic little short stories are a close second. In DRAGOS GOES TO WASHINGTON we get to catch up with the First Family of the Wyr, and see them in close quarters with humans and Elder Races a like.

Patricia Briggs is the short story gold standard by which I judge all other efforts, they're detailed, immersive, and function both as standalone stories and an enticement to read more. Thea Harrison's short stories are a near perfect score on the Briggs Scale. DRAGOS GOES TO WASHINGTON could be read as a stand alone, but new readers should really start with DRAGON BOUND to get the full experience. This short runs hot and heavy on the romance, amping up the Paranormal Romance flavor of the story overall.

For fans of the series, DRAGOS GOES TO WASHINGTON is everything you could hope for (unless you're like me, where you immediately wanted the next two stories to appear on my eReader). A fun glimpse of beloved characters, an appetizer that offers flavors of the Elder Races without ruining our appetite for SHADOW'S END on December 1.

Sexual Content: Explicit sex scenes.

I love the Elder Races series. Well, actually, to be more accurate I love the Wyr, and particularly Dragos, Pia and Liam, so I was delighted to see there was a new trilogy of novellas starring my favorite Wyr family.

Fans of these three will likely enjoy this one because it’s essentially just catching up again. There’s lots of Pia and Dragos time (sadly Liam doesn’t feature all that much) and everything is all pretty cute and snuggly – with plenty of pows as Pia turns broody. Easy enough to do when your baby is growing up at light speed. Oh, and Dragos grows all possessive again. Although, when is he not?

There’s also a fair amount of political maneuvering, with tensions growing between humans and the Elder Races – hence the trip to Washington. This is obviously a deeper plot that will be explored not just in these novellas but the series, and has been largely caused by events in previous books, so this is really only a taster of what else is to come.

However, the murder plot is pretty weak and there’s no race against time, because both Dragos and Pia are distracted with a different issue. Also it’s fairly obvious, not who did it, particularly, but who the suspects will be, which made that whole side of things pretty anticlimactic.

So, if you’re reading this for a Dragos and Pia romance fix then you’ll find plenty to enjoy. If, however, you were intrigued by the crime plot in the blurb, then you’ll be disappointed. Personally, I love this pair so I liked this and look forward to seeing how the politics unfold in the next novella. I sense complications ahead – can’t wait!

Is it weird that I didn’t feel that Dragos Goes to Washington was a novella but instead a full/complete novel? There were no cliffhangers that left me reeling and unsatisfied, nor were there intentional adding of characters that I would have to wait to learn more about. This book had everything I look for when I pick up a book that’s of the paranormal romance genre. The heroine and hero equally got page time, there wasn’t any confusion pertaining to this world that the author created, and the drama wasn’t overly dramatic.

The beginning started off by showing how great and supportive Pia and Dragos were of their son, Liam, with him wanting to do things that will soon become impossible for him with his advance growth rate. Seeing the different roles of their relationship endeared Pia and Dragos more to me because it’s a complete change and growth in how they were in Dragon Bound, and where I imagined them heading. They’ve been together for such a short time it was a delight to see how much they’ve grown together.

The drama that ensued from their trip to the White House in Washington D.C. and the problems Pia was facing had me glued to my reading device in anticipation of what was to happen next. No way could I have imagined the drama did unfold and was then resolved the way that it did. No way.

I’m glad that it appears that every installment of this novella series will each be a complete story. After the sneak peeks we got into the two stories coming I am pumped into how they will unfold.

The Elder Races are headed to Washington D.C. and Dragos will have to rely on Pia to help navigate the battlefield in this exciting Elder Races novella.

Dragos isn’t known for his diplomacy skills and the reader can’t help but get caught up in all the intrigue as Dragos and Pia work together to keep their heads above water and to faster peace with smiles and not claws. The chemistry between Pia and dragos is as hot as ever and the sex scenes scorching while the romance is sweet and devoted as these strong captivating characters continue to seduce readers into their world with another fast paced, smooth flowing plot full of suspense, excitement and romance. Expectation builds lots of tension throughout the story as something is happening to Pia while she’s helping Dragos and then the story gets really exciting when she finds the body of the spouse of a prominent politician and chaos ensues. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination while the intriguing events draw the reader in and ensures that there is never a dull moment.

The Elder Races are always good for intrigue, thrills and passion with this short look into a political nightmare involving a gathering of Elder Races and humans being no different and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

~ 3 Dragos Stars ~

Dragos Goes to Washington a novella #8.5 in the Elder Races series by Thea Harriosn. We are treated to a satisfying read full of political intrigue and revelations that will surprise.

This was an enjoyable read giving us a murder mystery in Washington DC which is intriguing, but it does resolve quickly. The story in itself is fan-fic for those that have come to love Dragos, Pia, and The Peanut. We don’t get a cliffhanger per say, but we are left with a few levels of political issues unrelieved, which will be continued in the next to novellas Pia Does Hollywood and Liam Takes Manhattan.

As for our characters I loved seeing them again. They are always fun together with some great banter. The emotional buildup was kinda flat. No real sizzle for me. Their sensual scenes were just so so this time around. We don’t get to see The Peanut except for a brief moment in the beginning.

As novella’s go Dragos Goes to Washington was an ok read. Fans will enjoy returning to one of the main couples and seeing some of our past characters make an appearance.

Anyone who reads Thea's Elder Races series knows we can't get enough of Dragos, Pia and their son, Liam. If you are a paranormal romance fan and aren't reading this series, you are certainly missing out.

This is the first of a second set of novellas featuring the first family of the Wyr Demense. We love more time with Pia and Dragos and since the happenings of the last novellas, Pia and Dragos are once again in the middle of a mating frenzy which leads to the millienia old dragon to be even more overprotective and over-possessive than before.

With the recent events and deaths involving the Elder Races, Dragos has to go to Washington to make nice with the U.S. politicians along with other Elder leaders. Dragos is a powerful dragon and making nice isn't really in his skill set. That's why he will need Pia by his side. Pia has a way with people. When someone is killed in Dragos's residence, making it look like a wyr killer, all bets are off and Dragos's claws will finally come out. No one disrespects the dragon in his own house and with his mate by his side, they will flush out the killer and put an end to the political unrest one way or another.

Dragos Goes To Washington (A Story of the Elder Races) is the first of three novellas by Thea Harrison. The main character, Dragos is part of past books and the ending leaves you knowing where the next novella is headed. Still it reads pretty well as a stand-alone even with two more novellas to follow.

This plot is short but contains as expected political intrigue since it takes place in DC. There is also quite a bit of romance and passion, in fact it seems to overshadow the mystery, murder and other suspenseful events. I think more development of those events instead of the so many sex scenes would have made this novella a 5 Star read. As it reads now, I have to take a half star off of the 4 to make it a 3.5 Star read.

Mr Smith has nothing on Dragos!!

The human world is getting twitchy and wants to set up some sort of rules on the Elder Races *Rolls Eyes* and the Elder Races are trying to accommodate them, with in reason. That being said, a congregation is set in Washington and Dragos and Pia must host a dinner. Yeah, you guessed it, Dragos is just thrilled.

The death of a prominent guest totally destroys their dinner and Dragos is left to figure out who and why? A classic whodunit this is not. Dragos has no patience for those who put his family at risk and this time, he's got even more to protect..

I really enjoyed this one.. shoot, I really enjoy all of these vignettes, just enough to keep readers intrigued until the next book.

I love reuniting with Pia and Dragos. They are the power couple of the Elder Race series and this was a great look into their normal, everyday lives. Well, as normal and everyday as their lives can be. After the trauma of Pia’s novella and the shift from Dragos and Pia to Liam in the previous short story, it was nice to return to Pia and Dragos and the bond that ties them together. One of my biggest problems with the previous set of novellas was how fast Liam was aging. In this story however, the focus is off Liam and on to new problems that Dragos and Pia need to face as a couple. Excellent novella! It makes me want to reread the whole series again! And loved the brief appearance from Tricks and Tiago!

My favorite stories in the Elder Races series are the ones with Dragos and Pia.

This novella doesn't disappoint. I've loved seeing Pia's and Dragos's relationship progress from book to book. I love their loving relationship and their playful banter.

"We are both half naked on the bed, about to practice getting pregnant and giving each other multiple pows, and we're arguing about laundry?" "We are so married."

I loved that! It was so real and funny. Thea can capture the frustration of loving and living with someone in a way that it so humorous.

I'm really excited to see where Pia and Drago's story goes from here and look forward to reading the next Novella in November....Sara

I adore these novellas that Harrison writes about the Elder Races. They are perfect little peeks back into our favorite character’s lives and grace us with clues to new plotlines and story directions. Dragos Goes to Washington is part of a three novella series centering around Dragos, Pia, and their son Liam. They can each be read as a standalone but more fun when read in order. Short and sweet, Harrison delivers a full, rich, often steamy stories that engage you from page one.

Pia and Dragos are entering another chapter of their lives. Liam is growing up faster everyday and Pia finds herself experiencing some growing pains of her own. This engages the mating bond, putting an already volatile Dragos at defcon 12. At the same time, Dragos and Pia are required to play nice for a Wyr/Human summit. Think UN summit but much, much deadlier. The supernatural events over the last year have caused great concern and damage to the already fragile peace and now there is a human supremacist group called A Right To Privacy that is doing everything possible to make sure the summit does not go well.

Harrison does a fabulous job of creating a tense volatile conflict while further exploring the dynamics of Dragos and Pia’s relationship. Even after a couple of years, there is still a sense of wonder and confusion on Pia’s part as to how she and Dragos managed to come together. He keeps his emotions locked down tight and sometimes Pia is unsure of how Dragos feels about her and their life together.

As king of the wyrs, Dragos must do some serious juggling to keep his people and his family safe. He can’t even afford to be seen as weak but in the privacy, he reassures us and Pia that he is one hundred percent committed to his family-especially Pia. The mystery solves quickly, the events surrounding the case opening the door to a new storyline and arc that should prove to be a very interesting time for the all the wyrs. I loved getting to spend sometime with my favorite Elder Race characters and seeing what they are up to. I look forward to the next two novellas, Pia Goes to Hollywood (11/17), Liam Takes Manhattan (12/22), and the next full length novel-Shadow’s End ( 12/1).

Dragos has no use for human politics, and when you are a Dragon it's hard not to just eat your pesky rivals to shut them up, but recent events are stirring up tensions between human and Wyr, so Dragos and Pia head to Washington D.C. to try to smooth things over.

This was a decent little short story with not enough Liam, but plenty or Dragos and Pia and plenty of sexy times - twice mated but the mating heat is still going strong with these two. There is a mystery and half, and a just enough set up to open things up for the next short, Pia Does Hollywood.

Love love love this series!!! It makes you wish dragons were real and of course that they turn into sexy hot men in need of loving. Dragos and Pia are my favorite characters that Ms. Harrison has created to this day. So I was happy to read more about them and see how they have grown as a couple. It was well worth the wait to revisit this couple. I look forward to the next book

Really this was just a sneak peek/filer in between books. I enjoyed reading about Pia and Dragos again as the political side seems to heat up. Still it had really great erotic content, and easily whet my appetite for the next book in the series. Four stars for entertainment!

I freaking LOVE this universe, and the dragon and unicorn, along with their son are my favorite characters. Thea Harrison wields a mean pen. Her world-building is excellent. I love that she portrays a married life that is anything but staid for this exciting family. Keep the stories coming, Ms. Harrison...ill keep buying and reading.

A nice little story featuring Dragos, Pia and the political scenario in the Elder Races Series. Entertaining and funny but it has to be read in order because it is going to change many things from now on.
