I was fascinated by Michaels story- I can see how most definitions of Surrender would make his life story hard to accept. Seems as though his commitment to peace and allowing was more important than fear, resistance and control. I believe we have a life story that is even better and with less struggle than our ego's will to make life fit some goal or plan.

I didn't read reviews before getting this book. It came recommended by a friend and colleague and I'm glad she did. It's great reading for anyone in business - or in life for that matter - as a way of envisioning the 'being' state of living.

Excellent book about going with the flow, and an interesting life and cultural period. But I don't think going with the flow means you have to be quite so passive in terms of taking on whatever comes your way.

I flew through this book, it was that good. Since reading this book, I haven't stopped thinking about the decisions in Michael Singer's life. After reading this I was inspired to read Autobiography of a Yogi. The Surrender Experiment is a quick, inspiring read. It is well written and you keep reading to find out what his journey will lead to next. Highly recommend this book. I couldn't wait to have an acquaintance read it, so we could talk about it.

Michael Singer is a gifted writer who lives what he advises. The book is a trip through years of his life and the challenges he faced.
Like his other books, you need to read it slowly to absorb all the nuances of what he speaks about.
Most people fight and struggle with life, but he recommends that you surrender and flow with life, which is not quite as easy as it sounds, but there are pearls of wisdom in his work that enrich your life.

A potentially life-changing book, written by someone who seems to have figured out something very important about how to lead a happy and productive life. I enjoyed it tremendously and plan to re-read it again before applying its lessons.

I had already read (and loved) "The Untethered Soul" and really enjoyed this book as both an affirmation of his message and, in a way, a backstory. I found myself looking up passages that I remembered in the other book and seeing them in a new way. Even without that context, though, I think this book would be a great read.

Read this after the untethered soul, which I loved. The surrender experiment is now something I have tried hard daily to put into practice. What if I just allow myself to do the best with what has been put in front of me? This is a great read and one to read again and again.

Loved this book and have recommended it to numerous others. It’s the kind of book that comes back to my mind regularly, and reminds me to surrender to the flow of life, or spirit, or whatever is guiding us.

The almost painful acts of surrender came at a rapid pace in this biography of a life filled with spiritual searching. In terms of success in the physical world, something almost all of us strive for, Singer reaches the highest pinnacle of having it all, only to loose so much when wrongly accused of stealing from his own company, and being betrayed by a trusted coworker. It would have been so easy to become bitter and blame those who wronged him, but he keeps a detached mindset, accepting that this is only karma that will work itself out. Progress on the spiritual path demands detachment from all good and bad lessons, viewing each equally without grasping or avoidance, and this book and life experience expresses the learning process pretty well for one person.

I, like many people I'm sure, assumed that Singer is some sort of old hippie. Which he is, but much more. Boy did I underestimate him. And it particularly astounded me to read how he wrote "Untethered Soul" during such a trying time in his life. If you're a fan of "Untethered" you really should read this one to get his backstory.

Wow, what a story! Very inspiring. It really got me thinking about my life and similar "experiment" I've been involved in since the age of 19. It is interesting to see how our paths were similar and yet quite different in the practice of surrender. Well, worth reading. I'm glad I read his other book, The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself, first though.

Although a very inspirational journey, I found it a little too "fairy-tale-ish" (with exception to the major lawsuit at the end). I can appreciate the power of surrendering and going with Life's flow. Sometimes, amazing things can happen if we just surrender. But as a therapist and as a human being, I am also aware of life's struggles and tragedies. I guess I was wanting more of that balance in Mr. Singer's book. I wanted to learn more about his struggles with surrendering and more about the times when he surrendered and things didn't actually turn out ok because sometimes that happens and sometimes those struggles are just part of Life's journey (regardless of our surrendering). I wanted to know more about his interpersonal relationships, like with his wife and daughter. How did his lifestyle and choices affect them? How did they affect him?

Moving example of a life lived with full surrender to a higher power. I love real life examples of how to live from the heart and listen to guidance. There are many inspired books out there but, for me, there is nothing more helpful than being shown how one actually walks the talk. Thank you Mr. Singer for sharing your story and I can say that for this student of Truth, you have led me a little further down the path.

I ordered this book while still not out right after I read The Untethered Soul. At this moment Michael Singer is hands down one of the most underrated writers. This books delivers example after example of how to really go with the powerful flow of life: By surrendering to what is. I wish you more and more and more abundance Mickey Singer.

Message is interesting and enlightening but it gets somewhat lost in translation. After about the first third of the book, the author focuses on a list of his "wonderful" life experiences and accomplishments with a somewhat egotistical tone.

What an incredible real life story of a clever, yet humble hippie who turns out to be incredibly successful businessman.

And the best thing about his story is how he consistently uses the power of surrendering to whatever the universe delivers and allowing himself to be pulled along on a journey to his next adventure.

This book is not just a brilliant story of his life, it is also an inspiring take on how to embrace the flow of life and trust that the universe truly does have your back.

Great book. Solid self-help advice. Written by an author who actually went through what he is proposing, so real-world experience. I enjoyed the author's writing style so I bought several of his other works. I'd recommend them all.

I read this right after finishing The Untethered Soul. Both are brilliant and from what I can tell, it doesn't matter in what order you read his material. As things always do, this book came at the best possible time into my life. I'm actually rereading TUS and this again right now!

Such a great book about truly letting go and letting life lead you through all events great and small, learning to lean in when you want to run away as every type of emotion and situation in life comes knocking at your door. Trusting truth to prevail! A must read!

Life changing and mind blowing. What a great story for business people who, like me, are making decisions every day that affect not only themselves but also their employees. Who knew a book that is marketed and promoted in the spiritual genre would be so insightful for business? I'm giving this book out like candy to my friends.

The story of an unusual life journey and a pretty good single book of his to choose, if you're only going to read one. Upon refection, there are a number of useful life lessons to glean from Singer's story, even if they're sometimes lessons he doesn't seem to have grasped himself. But isn't the same true for most of us?

This memoir of one person's experience has opened me to a new perspective on my life. As I review my life, approaching 70, I realize that I did follow the energy of life as I started a music foundation I'm 1987. Now to deliberately put the principle of surrender to work! Thanks to friend Mo Draznin for introducing me to a Singer cd. Now thanks to Mickey Singer.

I automatically wanted to read this, after reading Mr. Singer's The Untethered Soul...and it was a nice follow up. Very interesting to see how one man's life played out as he was releasing his ego and surrendering, as unconditionally as possible, to his karma and life's flow.

The Surrender Experiment is a game-changer. I thought, I was surrendering my desires in life. Now, I'm living in the Grace of what Life brings my way blended with my genuine desire to receive Life's gifts and take action into the momentum at hand. I am very grateful and I highly recommend reading it.

This is an incredible story and read. I highly recommend it to ANYONE who prefers to ride the rough waves we know as life as opposed to being ridden by the wave and finding yourself disorientated. What a remarkable man and book, I am so inspired by this story and its ultimate message of surrender, and the beauty that follows when we let go and and allow the perfection of life to guide us. A truly magnificent read. Thank-you for sharing your story MAS. I am one grateful soul.

The Ego does not want to surrender, the resistence is stronger then cement! Being able to discover how our ego is running the show, is healing. Thank-you Michael Singer for writing such a profound and healing book based on your life experience! This book is intriguing, exciting, and "thought provoking." I will never forget when the Deputy Sheriff ask you do remodel his house!!!! Each chapter is a deep, profound learning experience, a group of friends started a book club with the "Surrender Experience" being the first book read!

As I read chapters of the Surrender experiment aloud to my relatives, I stop at vivid moments and relate analogies to my own life experience and the voice in my head. One of my fav parts of the surrender experiment is when what his mind said about the police officer was so dramatically different than reality.... rather than there being a problem, the officer wanted help from building with love! Literally and metaphorically that and other stories are being used as parables for self insight. I'm so grateful for this book and the far reaching impacts. I bought the book as gifts for many of my loved ones!

Life brings us all struggles at various levels. How we handle these hurtles is key to how we survive them. Singers belief system and practice of surrender is a valuable lesson to anyone regardless of religious faith practice. His personal stories give us hope in a greater power beyond ourselves whether we are Christian, Buddhist, Muslem, or atheist. This is a book of hope for everyone.

Readable, thoughtful, intelligent read. Interesting ideas on how to live life in the flow of life rather than pushing against it. His real life example of doing this for 40 yrs is a potent example of how magnificently this idea can unfold.

This is a great book for anyone struggling with the concept of surrendering to the universal plan. Michael Singer has a direct and thoughtful writing style that is easy to follow. It was also great to see someone stay with his focus and values even touring 4-5 years of difficulty. Very inspiring.

I grinned, laughed and loved my way through this book. I have also lived this path. There is no other way to live. Thank you Mr Singer for this amazing glimpse into life at its best. In truth and awareness. This is a life changing book for anyone.

While I enjoyed the overall story, the story line seem just a little too down pat. I don't think anybody can grow up to be president and I'm skeptical that anyone else could grow up to do what Michael Singer did. My next step is to find a similar story from a boy that grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.

Another amazing book by Michael Singer. He shows how just being a "Yes" to whatever shows up in life can have astounding benefits and will create a harmonious relationship with you and the Divine. I love this book and will be gifting it to many people.

When I first saw on the IONS website that Michael Singer had a new book out, The Surrender Experiment, My Journey Into Life's Perfection—something within me knew that this was to be a perfect catalyst to complete the transition I was presently deeply in process with. That indeed proved to be correct as I journeyed with the author from the 1970's to present time.

This is not a “how to”, technique oriented, or even spiritual practice manual – but instead a clear and relevant declaration on how life really operates, absolutely supporting the embodiment of peaceful well being, while stimulating effective action taken from the depths of heart and soul.

The author has transparently presented his unique journey, which of course is fascinating in and of itself. However, what opened me was his devoted practice of “witnessing” ever constant thoughts, and clearly “leaning back” from them – surrendering - into a place of simple Being, where the creative Source of all life elegantly evolves and unfolds.

What struck me through each situation he encountered, or each personal thought of how things “should be”, was the absolute trust in the force of life unfolding that over time, was developed and practiced even in the most challenging circumstances. This is what I call the practice of trusting the unfolding of our lives. For it is when we simply open our palms and let go of the grasping of how things should be that we find the possibilities and freedom that we have been seeking and yearning for all along.

Thank you Michael Singer for an elegant and soul Sourced reminder of the possibilities inherent in being human, and to being of service in the world.

not only is this a great, extremely entertaining story, but Singer walks the talk of how accepting what is and letting it go turns into the road to freedom and peace. I couldn't stop reading and plan to read it again this weekend. if you want a real life successful model of how to live your life accepting and fully experiencing and embracing each moment, and then the moment after that, read this book. your life is waiting for you.

A masterpiece of extraordinary proportions, a journey that is truly unbelievable and worthy of praise. Anyone who is willing and able to truly surrender ones self to the flow of life, deserves respect from all of humanity. As it seems to be the one lesson we are unable to grasp, considering our natural urge to control EVERYTHING!!

I liked the insight into Michael Singer's journey to what got him to write The Untethered Soul.
And as I understand each man has his own journey, I wonder if some read this as a " do this and you too will find great wealth," though I think that is not his intention.
Not a sequel or addition to The Untethered Soul but a glimpse into his process.
