Hard to believe this is the next to last Calvin and Hobbes collection. For fans of the series, there isn't much to say but buy the book. You'll love it as much as the others. New to the comic strip? Here's why you should buy it.

Calvin is a typical overactive six-year-old. Hobbes is his best friend stuffed tiger who is alive thanks to Calvin's imagination. Together, they have all kinds of adventures, including enhancing Calvin's brain to give him an idea for a topic for his paper or fighting to keep Calvin from being bad leading up to Christmas.

Honestly, this book is more stand alone laughs that full on stories. That doesn't make them any less funny. And, while we have seen some of these set ups before, like Calvin's snow art, the punch lines still get laughs. Even though I've read this book countless times before, I still laugh at the familiar strips. And the social commentary, while 20 years old, is still spot on, sadly.

There is a weird time jump in this book since Bill Watterson took a nine month sabbatical before coming back for the final year. That's why spring is just sprouting in one strip and we're back to New Year's Resolutions in the next.

But as any fan of the strip will tell you, that hardly matters. There are laughs and quotable lines throughout this book. Read and enjoy today.

I have read EVERY single Calvin and Hobbes book. They never seem to disappoint me in any way, shape, or form. These are especially hilarious and make me want to read the exact same book, thousands to millions at times. Now, onto the book. These stories consisted of the funny and reckless Calvin, the jungle cat Hobbes and the two parents who constantly have to argue with Calvin's sarcastic and smart-alleck remarks. Also, Susie, the neighbor and the always "annoying" one. Lastly, who could forget Moe. The person in which every person wants to slap in the face of his nasty and mean remarks and actions to Calvin. These books fill me up with practically every emotion possible. THANKS FOR THIS INCREDIBLE BOOK! :·) #TFTB

I was lucky enough to grow up in the 90's era. My mom turned me on to Calvin and Hobbes when i was about 6 years old. I have read and re-read almost every book several times and i can truly say that if it had not been for Calvin and Hobbes, my life would be decidely less great. Every time i read these cartoons, it is just an escape from reality. I feel as if i was a better kid, and as a result, a better adult, because of what was contained in these strips. I cant really describe it. You really just have to read them to understand what i'm talking about. Now i'm 23 years old, and i have the fiscal stability now to buy up every single book and start my own personal collection so that someday my kids will be able to enjoy calvin and hobbes the way i did. I take a book or two when i go on work trips, and it makes it so much more bearable.

If you have young kids, buy every single book for them that you can. You will thank yourself, and they will thank you too.

Every "Calvin and Hobbes" book contains wonderful insight into our society, children, and parents in general. Bill Watterson has an excellent way of looking at us from a slightly twisted child's point of view, but a child who has to be a genius or near-genius.
This collection contains some of the best winter strips that Watterson ever created. The images of a snow man worshipping Calvin are funny, especially in the last portion of the strip. In another strip Calvin has created a group of small snow men, and has taken another one to the roof as a potential suicide. While this strip sounds very twisted, it's also humorous. Another winter strip sums up the parents feelings as they note that Calvin's activities have led to the neighbors planting really big trees along the boundaries of their property.
Hobbes is an integral part of Calvin's life, ranging from insulting to supporting to the poignant. One of the best poignant strips is when Hobbes takes Calvin out to the school bus while it's raining, carrying an umbrella for him. Soon Calvin's parents look out the window to see Hobbes as a stuff animal with an umbrella tucked under one arm. Calvin's father goes out to retrieve Hobbes and then we see another image of Calvin sitting in school staring at the clock, clearly worrying about Hobbes in the rain.
There are quite a few collections of "Calvin and Hobbes." Of the eight or nine collections that I have I have found every one to be a worthy addition to my library and hope to eventually have them all. Of the "Calvin and Hobbes" collections I have this one is one of the best.

Fans of Calvin & Hobbes who used to read the newspaper strip in the 80s and 90s will find great pleasure in reading this collection of C&H comics. These witty comics about the 6-year old Calvin and his stuffed tiger Hobbes, named after the famous philosophers, will amuse people of all ages. The perceptiveness and humor of Watterson deserve the highest of cartoon awards, while his artistic creations exude hilarity. This cartoon is perhaps one of the most piercing yet funny critiques of modern society.

More daydreams and more weird inventions from the wide imagination of Calvin. Contains all the usual characters, but more elaborate and more philosophical strips.

Note that there are two series of C&H collections: individual wide-format albums, each covering an entire year of strips (will call it âaeregularâ), and the vertical aspect ratio âaetreasury seriesâ which covers selected comics from two regular C&H books. Note that C&H ran for a year in newspapers, so thereâ(tm)s 10 regular books and 5 treasury books. Though the cartoons are slightly smaller in the treasury collection, each treasury book is far thicker and contains more strips than a regular book, and is furthermore less expensive, so treasury books are a real bargain. âaeThereâ(tm)s Treasure Everywhereâ belongs to the regular series and was published in 1996.

I like this book because it is funny and humorous. It really expresses a boy's imagination. I feel like I have similar experiences as Calvin because I used to carry around a favorite stuffed animal. I think if you get this for your child, as soon as they start reading it they won't be able to put it down because it is funny. It's the funniest book I have ever read. Children might ask you how to say a couple of words, but not that many. Most of these words are plain, childish words. This book has a lot of weird creations and Calvin sometimes thinks he's a superhero called SpaceMan Spiff and runs around pretending he's killing aliens (but don't worry parents, the killing isn't bloody). I think if you bought this book for your child, you'd be buying the rest of them because your child would beg you for them.

Bill Waterson is argudably one of the best comic writers out there. Even through his retirement, he has made great books of past comics featuring his Calvin and Hobbes characters. I laugh and laugh at these comics he creates and I sometimes wonder how he comes up with such brilliant ideas sometimes with the storylines of some of the strips.
Calvin, one of his best known characters, is the trouble-making kid in the school. He is funny and imaginative and likes to make funa and games with his "real" pet friend Hobbes. Through the comics, you can see the relationship between a stuffed animal and a human.
In this comic though, Hobbes "comes to life" in Calvins eyes. The things that Calvin can sometimes get involved in is so hilarious and sometimes out of this world.
I guarantee that anyone that loves comics will fall in love with this one and should definitely buy this book to start their collection of classic comics.
All of Bill Waterson's comic books are very well done and very professional. His work is his life and it shows the time and consideration it took to make these characters come to life. Thank you Mr. Waterson for creating such a great comic and thatnk you people for reading my review!

Calvin and Hobes are looking for "treasure" and they've got it.
The "opening" comic is retold (by me) below:
Hobbes: What are you digging for?
Calvin: Treasure.
Hobbes: What have you found?
Calvin: Some rocks and lots of dirt.
Hobbes: On your first try!?
Calvin: There's Treasure Everywhere!

I loved Calvin and Hobbes when i was a little kid and I still do now! They're hillarious and Calvin reminds me so much of myself at
his age (not in every aspect). Especially our family camp trips. calvin and his mom remind me so much of myself and my mom when
our dad took us camping and it turned out to be a disaster, lol. These cartoons make me want to be a kid again. Almost everyone has
said this but I'll say it again. You'll start out planning to read a few pages but you won't stop there. you can't. it's so additive. some of
the younger kids might not understand some of the big words but older kids will. But I think that grownups will enjoy them the most.
With the purchase of this collection all the sunday comics are colored! Get them
all!

My little sister (age ten) and I have been ardent fans of Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes for many years. The writing is one-of-a-kind and the drawing equally unique. THERE'S TREASURE EVERYWHERE is one of the three best collections (the others are THE INDISPENSABLE CALVIN AND HOBBES and HOMICIDAL PSYCHO JUNGLE CAT). IT'S A MAGICAL WORLD is also great, but sort of bittersweet because it's the final one.
My personal favorite cartoon in this collection is the one on page 111. I don't want to spoil it for you, but you should buy the book just for that, if nothing else. :) If you need a laugh, or just want something fun, entertaining, and intelligent to look at, THERE'S TREASURE EVERYWHERE is the ticket. Especially page 111.

This book is absolutely perfect for my second grader! The stories are funny and short - just the way most little boys like them. Fantastic illustrations throughout, they even prompt him to write stories of his own, open his imagination up WIDE, and best of all, there's more than one story. This book is like a collection of short stories, perfect for children who are short on patience (translation= ALL children) and who'd rather play video games than read a book. I cannot begin to express how happy I am that Calvin & Hobbes don't have to compete with video games in my house. He reads for absolute pleasure now, his vocabulary has exploded, and he's requested more Calvin & Hobbes to fill his bookcase. I've even become a big fan myself.

Watterson's verbal and visual imagination at high tide. Just one of the many recommendations that holds this volume high even among its C&H peers is that it contains perhaps the two greatest snowmen comics in the series, with Calvin posing as art critic, trashing the banal efforts of the neighborhood kids while hailing his own avant-gardeism. As usual, there's irreverence, philosophical debate, whimsy, and a lot of spine-tingling transformations of Calvin into a fantasy dinosaur (watch the allosaur descending the staircase!). All this, plus redrafting those angry letters to Santa . . . . An inexhaustible delight!

"There's Treasure Everywhere" is probably my favorite of all the Calvin And Hobbes treasuries. Not only is Calvin And Hobbes hilarious, but it is also well-drawn, imaginative, and everything about it is interesting. As Calvin And Hobbes treasuries go, I'd recommend this one in particular. It's not better than any of the others--I think all of them are equally ingenious--this one is just my personal favorite.

In conclusion, I won't give away much about this book, because words on their own can't even begin to do it nearly enough justice. But I will say that the strip on page 111 is absolutely hilarious.

Five Stars (If I could, I'd give it more). That is the rating I would give to ANY Calvin and Hobbes book. This comic is most unlike any comic I, and most likely you, have ever read. It focuses around a six-year-old boy, who epitomises our worst side and yet has a astonihing vocabulary for a small child, and is best friend, a stuffed tiger. The way this strip is most obviously different then all others is the way Bill Watterson uses his comic strip to express, and critisize, moral issues and human nature while still retaining an impeccable sence of raw comedy, with several strips that are just plain silly. Very few cartoonist have this rare sence of humor and that shows itself throughout all his work esspecally this book. So whether Clavin is succking-up to Santa, pondering philosophy, or just riddiculing- well, everyone, Calvin and Hobbes is the perfect gift for showing the more comical side of the child in themselves.

This is the second-to-last installment of the Calvin and Hobbes series. It's almost tragic to know that this would be the beginning of the end when reading "There's Treasure Everywhere." But then, of course, we still have all these C&H books to cherish. The imagination, social commentary, modern-day satire, and troubled parenting are still here. It's a definite must-read for all C&H fans.

This is one of the best collections of a brilliantly profound and hilarious comic strip. I have been reading and collecting Calvin & Hobbes since I was about Calvin's age, and it grows richer and more relevant every time I revisit my collection.
This is pure genius captured here. I can't think of a greater exploration of the meaning of childhood, imagination, and discovery, and the philosophical themes are sublime. You might imagine that philosophical undertones in a newspaper comic would be tacky, awkward, contrived, pretentious, or something similar, but it is the opposite. By setting the philosophical musings in the world of a imaginative child, Watterson achieves a real feeling of honesty, wonder, and genuine attempts to understand and explain the crazy world we all live in.
If there is any justice in art, these comics will be remembered for many years as one of the most valuable creations of the era.

The title of this book is a perfect metaphor for being a kid. Calvin can entertain himself all day with nothing more than a stuffed tiger and a cardboard box. This is another outstanding collection of strips from Bill Watterson, whose comic genius has been sorely missed in the funny pages since his retirement. This is yet another of his books that should be guarded like a treasure.

This is definitely representative of Bill Watterson's style--imaginative and humorous. I read this book and liked it because the jokes really DO actually make you laugh -- many other comic strips don't -- and often address subtle issues. The only reason I gave this a 9 is because I think the book's organization could be done a little better. A great book. I recommend it to everyone

As with the other Calvin and Hobbes books, I found my shoulders shaking and sides hurting from laughing so hard. For a kid like Calvin, there really is treasure everywhere. For the reader, there seems to be laughter everywhere Calvin goes. Great fun.

With such a good book, even Mild Mannered Calvin, Stupendous Man, and Spaceman Spiff would approve! After this book, try The Indispensable Calvin and Hobbes (which is not available on the Paperwhite) to read.

This is a very awesome C&H collection. I have read EVERY SINGLE C&H comic strip ever! . This has to be the funniest one. Also, one man says this is Watterson's last C&H book, but really, "It's a Magical World", is the last C&H book. Peace Out!

I think that this book is about the funniest book ever ( second only to It's a Magical World) The Cerebral Enhanc-atron story is just hilarious. It is a good length and most small children can also read it.

This the most funniest book every written, period. Mr.Watterson's imagination is very funny and hilarious. The funniest strip in the book is when calvin's food comes to life. Now if you are a true fan, calvins food comes to life often, but trust me, this time it the most funniest thing that has EVER happened at the table. ENJOY!

My absolute favorite, and definetly the funniest. I would say of out of every book Bill Watterson has created, this one is definetly the most astounding. The average cost for this is about $15.00, but to me, this collection is priceless.

Another great slab of chuckles and fun from Bill Watterson's master of insults and silly repartie, the irrepresible Calvin and his stuffed tiger (to everyone in his world) Hobbes.
although you are laughing at his antics, in the back of your mid you think Calvin needs some "Real" friends.

This collection was great; I would say it is probably a little better than the average C&H book, which is an incredible achievement. In general, Calvin and Hobbes strips are consistently funny, a theme that seems a bit uncommon in the *average* comic.
