This wonderful book truly captures the essence of all the Mass Effect games. It gives you a more in-depth look into how the characters, their species, and worlds are developed. It is truly an in-depth and must have for any Mass Effect fans!

Anybody who has played the games knows how convincing this fictitious world is. The art book does an excellent job of showing any of the steps taken to go from concept to completion and is very inspiring for any artist.

I purchased the Art of the Mass Effect Universe book for my husband as a gift for Valentine's Day. He was very surprised since he's a big fan of all kinds of art especially video game art. He was very pleased with the hardcover book. Am not an expert in these things a book is a book to me, but the way he inspected it checking the hardcover surface and checking from point to point and then viewing the contents of the art book it's more like dissection to me what he's doing. Then I saw his smile on his face was priceless, he was very pleased. the store did an excellent job in packaging the Art of the Mass Effect Universe Hardcover Book even though USPS pried it open the inside contents came undamaged, well shrink wrapped on a hard cardboard. If anyone who loves art especially video game art then I recommend this book to you.

I love this art book. There are some beautiful creations and some that made me giggle. It shows how each race was created in the drawing room and what ideas they had when creating the species. A great book for any fan of the series!

Awesome book. Really love it. Only complaint is that there is next to nothing on my favourite character Liara. And all the mass effect 3 stuff is just a larger version of the book you get with the collectors edition. Shame. but still worth it.

Very hard to describe this wonderful book a few words! This book fully conveys the best of what there is in the universe of Mass Effect. Including the story of the three-part series. Characters, worlds, stories. I recommend to all!

This is definitely a must have for any Mass Effect fan. It shows the wonderful talent and all the effort that went into creating every detail of the Mass Effect universe as a whole. Overall, if you're a fan of art books or just one who wants to delve deeper into the mythos, this book is a wonderful buy.

However, the binding could be a little better.

I like collecting video game artbooks and I absolutely had to have this one in my library. Being such a huge fan of the series, I liked how the Bioware team created the look of the game's universe. Would recommend to every Mass Effect fan!

As you would expect from this artbook - it's awesome. Tons of art models on high quality paper. Must buy for any Mass Effect fan! Although I bought it NEW from the store store, it didn't come in cellophane foil.

Initially I had pre ordered the Special Edition of Mass Effect 3, but as the bad things about the game came to light I canceled my pre order and bought this book instead. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase however this book feels like just a larger version of the art book that comes with the special edition of the games rather than a comprehensive catalog of work. (not necessarily a bad thing)

The content and its presentation are quite good. Getting to see portions of the design process, and some of the ideas that were not/or could not be explored was very insightful. As an illustrator myself, seeing how others tackle a particular problem and some of the decisions that they reject, is just as interesting to me as the actual pretty pictures. I was disappointed to see that there are little or no comments or sidebar annotations from any /mmuch of the art team, nor are they giving any credit anywhere in the book (unless all of the work presented was done by the art director).

" THE ART OF THE MASS EFFECT UNIVERSE" is a worthy candidate for anyone who collects art books. It is a hefty tome chock full of visual goodness. The overall design and the build quality (assembly, binding, stitching, etc) is very good and Dark Horse Books deserves kudos for its fine publishing effort.
