Angel Unborn is riveting and non-stop action from beginning to end. A sexy yet cranky angel and a quirky heroine you can't help but love are perfect protagonists. I would strongly recommend this book!

Couldn't get passed 12 percent of the book, either the author thinks they should be a comedian and is testing their stand up routine, or is in serious need of a please get to the point ethics class! I just couldn't continue, but thanks for the free download!

I am a student of angelology. While I appreciate the study the author undertook, I deplore the snarky ,crass, and downright trashy tale offered for our entertainment. Get your head out of your private parts and work harder. A disgusting waste of time.

Am I the only one who hates first person narrative? Well, I do, so if you like it, disregard most of this review. The writing is juvenile, and I really regret trusting the reviews and buying this without a sample. I have struggled through the first chapter, and since I paid for it I am going to hope it gets better. So far, awful. Good premise but the execution of the plot is bad. The choices the characters make are groundless, the dialogue is silly and high school fantasy-esque, and the characters themselves have little personality that seems mostly propped up by their looks.

When Andris Bear contacted me in regards to reading and reviewing Angel Unborn, I had no idea what to expect. Although I love being introduced to new-to-me authors and books, there is always that chance that I will not like the book and then I'm caught as to what to do. I took a chance on Andris because not only did Marquita Valentine, who I love, give her my name, but Andris was just so damn funny and adorable in our email conversations that I just couldn't help but instantly like her. I'm so glad that I took the chance because I LOVED Angel Unborn and can't wait for Angel Unleashed!!! Andris Bear has definitely earned herself a BIG fan in me with this book alone.
I LOVE book dedications and the one Andris wrote in Angel Unborn has to be one of my favorites, especially this part: "To my amazing husband who pray's nightly he's never asked if he is the inspiration for my love scenes, I simply adore you. Don't worry, darling, I'll never tell." So sweet and funny. And then there was this in the Acknowledgements: "And finally, my readers. Every time a reader takes a chance on a new writer, a fairy gets her wings. Or a leopard gets a new spot. However you want to look at it. You are a joy beyond compare and I cherish every one of you. Thank you." I think this tells all you need to know about Andris Bear!! :)
I was immediately drawn into Angel Unborn through the interesting story and entertaining characters. I loved Joey and her snarky attitude and found myself LOL more often than not. (Although I loved her snarky attitude, her comments started to get annoying after a while and I just wanted her to be a little more serious~this was just my personal preference.) I LOVED Joey and Ursus and how they responded to one another. Ursus ~ Sexy Archangel indeed!! *sigh* Oh, and I couldn't have been more shocked by Satan!! ;)
I have to admit that I kind of liked Chamos and would have loved to see more of him~especially if that included Chamos and Shula together!! (heehee) ;) Oh, and I also liked Devi~so funny!!
The twists and turns in Angel Unborn gave me a few nail~biting moments and kept me glued to my Kindle wondering what would happen next. There was also love, HEAT, laughter, tears, sexual tension, fighting, interesting secondary characters, and of course my favorite, an epilogue with a HEA. It's a good thing too because I was worried for a few pages that Joey would not find her HEA. LOL ;)
Angel Unborn was a great start to what promises to be a great series and I am definitely hooked. 4 out of 5 rating. Definitely going into my keeper pile. Thank you so much Andris!!!
Some of my favorite quotes:
There before my blessed eyes stood a TDY: Tall, Dark and Yummy. He was a warrior, Viking, pirate and a mythical God all baked into one perfect, decadent confection. (Joey describing Ursus)
My mouth fell open at the way his black t-shirt stretched over a back broad enough to park my car. And dear God, his jeans, worn low on lean hips, made me wish I was made of denim. He had an ass so round it reminded me of ripe, juicy apples tightly saran-wrapped.
(Joey describing Ursus)
"We're not," grumbled Ursus. I went rigid. "We're not?" Since when? Sure, we'd had a rocky start, but how could we not? He broke in to my house, scared my hair short, and then sparred with a demon. In my living room. Who wouldn't tear ass from him? So yeah, I'd climbed out a window to escape. And called him a few choice names. What the hell did he have to complain about? I'd been stalked, stabbed, and shifted. (Ursus and Joey in response to Devi's question about how they were getting along)
My lips worked, but no sound came out. Chamos wanted to sex me to death and she was jabbing me in the side like a schoolgirl when the quarterback hit the field. No way would this chick pass a psych test. She was off her rocker. Hell, she was off the whole porch. (Joey about Devi)
I should've brought the bag with my extra panties because I was having excessive pants~shitting episodes with these angles.
With my minimal understanding and non-existent decoder ring, that left me in the backwoods of utterly lost.
"Do I have to fit my melon with an alarm system to fend off more of your mental burglary?" (Joey to Devi)
