While the story has some interesting merits it is just too far outside the established shifter, particularly wolf shifter mythology, to go down easy. Ian and Anna are interesting and the family dynamics with his brothers have their moments but nearly everything they say about wolfs being loners no pack dynamics just doesn't sit well for someone that has read a lot in this genre before. Established mythologies within genres give a sense of security to the reader and this book contradicts that. As much as the brothers' stories might be interesting I can't wrap my head around the disparities.

I enjoy reading ?series when the characters like, the Donovan brothers are dark and edgy. They, like dark chocolate, are sinfully sexy and made to be savored! I will definitely recommend this book and look forward to reading more!

This is a simple and very predictable book. No surprises or twists. Not worth the time to read it. It is a shame as the author started with a different concept. Indeed from a new approach to a boring book.

Ian was an interesting character. I liked him. Intriguing. I loved his wolf too. Very straight forward, no nonsense. Anna was a very strong, smart lead. Determined. She's perfect for Ian. Evil crazy father, but turns out, the boys are good men. The characters were developed and interesting, but there wasn't enough action to me warrant the length of the book. Boring at times. Also, although I felt Anna and Ian were perfect or each other, the intimacy was lacking believability. I did not believe the love was there as in most PNR books. A good start possibly to the series, but I'm not sure I'm interested enough to read further.

This is a good shifter romance book, not great, but entertaining enough to be worth the read. The pace is fast and the romance even faster. The first half of the book is the most interesting as the reader discovers the mystery of Shifter Falls. The writer does a great job building interest in the coming books as all the brothers and even some of the residents have interesting backstories and romantic intrigue. The second half becomes a bit predictable and though it was entertaining, it was also a mostly forgone conclusion.
Honestly, it's an insta-love book even though the book claims that shifters don't know their mate at first sight. I find this is be only slightly romantic and then added to that, the romance of the book isn't much at all: a heated kiss and then sex. The scenes were good but also quick to finish and not too detailed. So while I believed the characters were honestly in love and would be happy, which isn't always a given by the conclusion of romance books, I didn't feel the draw of a growing and developing romantic relationship.
The action of the book was very well done. Scene to scene the action was fast and fun. The conclusion of the main conflict was great. Throughout the story, all the characters acted consistent to themselves, so while they didn't always follow what was expected, their actions were within the realm of belief. That meant none of the story jumped out as unbelievable to pull me out of my engrossment. There was a certain amount of foreshadowing, which I appreciated.
Overall, I found the book an enjoyable, quick read. While I won't be putting it on my top ten or spending time thinking about the book after I've finished it, it was a pleasant diversion.

I really enjoyed this book. I was just scrolling through the store and stumbled upon this book. It was very good. It's a different spin on werewolves. It was a great starter book to a series. I didn't think I'd like the brothers after what they did to Ian. But it's amazing that I am so looking forward to all their books. You see little pieces of each brothers soul. And the heroine for each brother...I just can't stop laughing . She picked them perfectly!!

Kindle Unlimited standalone book. Cannot wait for more characters stories. This was a different kind of shifter read then I've read which drew me in from the beginning. He's a con who can get early release if he helps her but it will mean facing his past and the brothers who want him dead.

I absolutely LOVED this, beginning to end! It was a perfect blend of everything.... great characters, great characterization, plot, pacing, conflict, everything! One of the things I really liked was how the half brothers came together. Despite their differences and distrust and history, when the chips started to come down they saw what needed to be done and came together and got it done. I just LOVED that! Another thing I really liked (and this is a picky-point) is that the brothers all looked different. One trend I've noticed in shifter stories is that the men seem to all look the same, which is highly annoying. One thing I'd have liked to see is more world-building around Amy's shifter world; we get some, just a taste. I can't wait to read the next book!

Yeah, ok this was good!!! Definitely am interested in getting the 411 on the Donovan bros and Shifter Falls. Although, after reading the intro on the next book, Heath's story, I was a little disappointed about the direction it would be taking. In the first book, when it was mentioned that Heath was forgoing sex with women, I immediately started thinking that perhaps he was bi and used his manwhore rep to hide his true sexuality.
Suffice it to say that would have been an interesting perspective that is an almost unheard of in the PNR genre. Although, Kresley Cole mastered that in one of her IAD series. Anyway, I will continue with the series.
