This a book for readers that really like werewolf stories. It is different to most of the other werewolf books I have read. But I liked it as I love werewolf stories. It has a different twist on werewolf lives and laws, but enjoyable just the same. i would recommend it to other werewolf tragic's like myself.

I have not read any books by this author before...this story started out grabbing my attention and never let go. I finished the book in one sitting; I'm off to read the next book! Five stars for hooking me from the first page, never lost interest. Finally a heroine who is not scared and whiny...the hero yum!

I really enjoyed the imagery and backstories. It felt very professionally done. Only a few grammatical mistakes. Loved it and am intrigued to see what happens. Glad the first was free so I could see how I liked the world you created.

Great story line. Love the characters. BUT,.......it seemed as if the writer started babbling instead of just writing the important stuff to keep you on track in the story and moving on. Unfortunately it is a recurring pattern of fluff that became so annoying I started skimming and skipping entire pages. To add insult to injury the mystery remains a mystery and suggest that a sequel is to come. And if it contains the same amount of fluff, I will not be reading it.

Odd book. Kind of hard to classify. Begins well, but tends to stagger around. Like the charater of jenna in the beginning, but the romance is very clunky. Ends in a bit of a cliff hanger. Not sure if I am wiling to folow up.

This was a really fun read. Although it got smidge wordy in places....with more explanations than necessary....I had a hard time putting it down. Laughed out loud a LOT and cheered for the couple fighting for a destined love. WILL definitely be reading many more by this author.

Jessie Lane has a winner in this series. Sassy, strong women and the hot, hot men who won and win them. I could not stop reading this series. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a sexy story with humor.

I just reread this book as prerequisites for the next in the series. I love this line : "no, you can't have a flamethrower for Christmas." It fits the main character and the beginning o the plot. Then the action dwindles to the love story; I'm looking forward to more action in the next book.

Do not waste your time. Ridiculous grammar errors, adolescent writing, absurd cliches. The premise sounded promising but the delivery was that of a 12 year old's idea of "sexy" behavior. I rarely write bad reviews but Please- for all that's holy, please get an editor. I want the last 30 minutes of my life back.

I totally enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful and romantic. I laughed so hard through some of the story I cried. This story involves Jenna and Adam. The alpha male is typical alpha male but he was also very nice, caring and lovable. Jenna is an alpha female that has Adam sitting up and taking notice. She is funny. This is the being of a series and can't wait the 2nd book to be available.
Just so you know this book contains some dead space (information about werewolf evolvement) that went on way to long.
Highly recommend you read the book.

The writing in this book is horribly amateurish. In here, the author describes the character becoming emotionally distant in such a way:
"Needing desperately to put some control back into her spiraling surroundings, she throws those thick titanium and concrete-enforced walls back up around her emotions. Practically daring anyone to try and tear those bad boys down again." Which walls are we talking about? Oh, THOSE ones. You know. The ones.
The prose is pretty much like this throughout the entire book, not to mention the grammar is awful. Also, another favorite: "Jenna's mind goes into overtime." Jenna's mind is, apparently, a football game.
The foundation of the plot is interesting, but unfortunately it's handling mauls it. The characters are terribly one dimensional, the entire thing reads like a fan-fiction and I want to laugh at the authors' knowledge of police force structure. I find myself getting irritated more than I find myself caring enough to keep reading.

Jenna is trying to start living her life out from under her Momma's well intentioned thumb. She moved to a new city, and started her new job on Wilmington's SWAT team. Jenna isnt your average ass kicking girl. She has secrets she has always had to hide, not just from the humans, but the Others community also. While trying to live her new life, the people who she was always told to stay hidden from come barging into her life in the form of hot sexy Alfa males. This book has super natural, suspence, romance, and an ass kicking take charge heroine. Definitely a must read if you are a fan of shifter romance

I would really recommend this book. I loved the romance and intrigue. But most of all the laugh out loud, crying till I couldn't laugh anymore was the best part. Ms Lane delivers wonderful humor through her main character.

The author tried to write about a strong female character. However, this failed to happen. A couple chapters developing a female that could kick any male`s and that's it! The main character, then, spots her male counter part and becomes subject to his desires and demands. Oh sure, his demands are lace with his "love", but she loses her strong character. The author needs to learn how to keep a character true to themselves while still being able to fall in love and form a lasting partnership.
Love does not make women weak. Love should not want to make women weak. It should make them strong. Authors need to remember that when they write weakness into their love stricken female characters.

I really liked the added uniqueness of the shifters and the history. Jenna and Adam's first meet is funny. The dialogue during that stare down is what comes up more than once. The secondary characters add a lot to the story. Adam has to be patient with Jenna but it pays off. Jenny's mom is a badas$ herself.

I like supernatural books that are filled with action. This book focused way to much on the main characters love life. And had a lot of sex in it. There was only one major action scene in the entire book!

After reading the sample chapters, I was so excited to read this book. However, about a third into the book, the genre shifted from UF to PNR as the plot took a backseat to the romance. It's unfortunate because the plot and Jenna's strong character is what drew me to the book. Jenna went from a strong, "I know what I want and no one will tell me different" character to almost split personality; subservient in her relationship with the romantic interest Adam but still kick-butt with everyone else. It's not that I didn't like Adam, but it would have been so much better if they had been able to build a realationship instead of everyone rushing them to make a permanent commitment before he went feral. It got so tedious to listen to her "I don't want to make a commitment yet it's so fast but I really like him and he may go feral and I have to save him, oh poor me what should I do" routine that I ended up skimming those parts. I really dislike those love at first sight, eternally committed in less than a week romances. They are so unrealistic that they become almost laughable and almost always the become a caricature of a real relationship. The plot that drew me in at the beginning was not really ever resolved or wrapped up in any way. I understand that the problem with the other pack will probably continue on for several books, but lots of authors do the same thing and still leave a feeling of resolution to each book. This was missing in this book. The "resolution" was wrapped up unsatisfactorily in a few sentences at the end to make room for the romance elements. If the author had made the romantic plot line in this book naturally progress over a couple of books instead of cramming it all in this book it would have made more room for the main plot to also progress more satisfactorily. I'm not sure if I would read the next book only because it appears the plot will be continued on with other characters becoming the main characters. While I enjoyed the character who I think the new H is going to be, I don't think I can stand to read another book where the H and h meet, boink, and mate in less than a week.

I liked the leading female but overall the story didn't do much for me. I felt there was a lot of repetitive explanations and the story was kind of all of the place. I get that you want to set up for the sequel but there were just to many avenues and unfinished areas.
