Although the characters were well developed and all interesting in their own right, the editing left something to be desired. The use of they're instead of their, rogue mispelled as rouge, took away from the story line. Insofar as the story itself is concerned, it was interesting and kept this reader turning pages. I do intend to keep reading the series, just hope the editing gets better. All in all a good supernatural read.

I enjoyed this book. There are issues with the editing/proofread, but all in all a decent read. The story starts slow and doesn't seem to have a real plot develop until to later on in the book. It will pickup however as more characters and "powers" are introduced. I'm not sure if I'll go on with the series......
A Demons of Fire and Night Novel (The Vampire's Mage Series Book 2) :: The Witch Hunter :: Altered Carbon (Kovacs) by Richard K. Morgan (2005-01-10) :: The Steel Remains (A Land Fit for Heroes) :: The Undying King

This book was interesting from beginning to end. It kept me intrigued and wondering what will happen next, I liked how the characters had attitude, lol, and there was also a balance with the characters, some were quiet, some loving etc which made the book balanced.

This was an enjoyable read. The characters are well drawn and the pace steady. There is magic, werewolves, and vampires so all your paranormal bases are covered. There are two more books in this series also.

The beginning was a little abrupt being put straight into action with not a lot of backstory for the characters and it seemed like a book from the vampire diaries , but then the characters became more developed and the story line took a unique twist so all in all a good book to read

I never even finished the first chapter, thankfully it was free. next time I'll read the first chapter before downloading it and wasting space/time. This is set up exactly like the vampire diaries with a different location and different names. Nothing new and fresh.

If your a huge fan for the television show Vampire Diaries than I highly recommend this book, since I, myself like the series I was a bit surprised to see it almost character and love triangle situation and other details the exact same in this book. The characters are so similar to the television series it was easy to tell which character was representing who, and in my opinion was not original because even their personality was exact. There was a cool bit in it with a character who the only original I could tell but even found myself comparing them to the television series because of the description of their situation. Unfortunately I did not complete this book because the similarities are to much to the television series and since I rated it a one star just because of it's lack of originality, it seemed more like a fan fiction novel to me and I'm not particularly into reading something of similar works at present.

Nicole R Taylor is a good author. This book series is bound to be good, and I haven't read the other books but I think it deserves a lot more 5 star ratings. So, whoever reads this, get the book, read it, and rate it a 5 star! #toatsMCgoats#

Well conceived and quite clever, I would have loved to rate this story higher. The writer has big talent, and more experience and a good editor will be the polish to make this writers work shine.

Taking place in Louisiana, the writing reveals that the author isn't from Louisiana, or the US for that matter. While specifying the location is a swamp, and part of the story takes place in a botanical garden with a forest and hanging mosses, a native Louisianan would have mentioned the cypress trees native to the area, and called the hanging mosses referenced by their common name, Spanish Moss. There are a lot of other tells in the word choices and structure, like the reference to "home truths." Also, we don't have lounges in the US, we have living rooms or possibly a parlor. After a bit, it became fun to spot the idioms :).

Aside from nitpicking little details like these, I Really enjoyed this work. Some very fresh concepts wrapped around powerfully charged emotions were very intriguing, although I think this should have been either longer, or perhaps 2 volumes.

I'll definitely be reading more of this author, and I hope others will also. I should mention that I got this book free on the kindle platform, however, no one solicited my review and I don't expect any remuneration or reward for writing it.

I just finished reading book 1... The storyline is excellent a nd pulls you into the world of the characters. The characters were well developed while still leaving some mystery. I also loved the writing style of this author. Never too wordy or hard to follow which for me, makes for an enjoyable read. I finished the first book in two days and just purchased the second book. I'm very excited to see that there will be book 3 and 4 as well.

This was a very good book. What first interested me was that it was based on a southern location close to where I live. It involves 2 vampire brothers from louisiana's . plantation country struggling to fit in back home where they led human livres 150 years ago. Of course trouble finds them and they have to band together with other para ormalcreatures to fight their enemies.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me interested and intrigued. Never knowing where they were going. Who was going to hurt or help who. I am looking forward to reading the next stage in the Witch Hunter Saga.
