Kate's Crew (Powertools Book 1)

This was my first Jane Rylon story, but I've read several since including the continuations of this story, Morgan's Surprise and Kayla's Gift. This was a GREAT start to a fantabulous (not a word I know but oh so fitting) story, with lots of yummy naughty bits and even some character background which can be rare in erotic short stories. Yummy, and yummy, and even more yummy!

While I love the story it ended up being a lot shorter than I thought it would be. I wish I could have gotten the first 4 books all together like you can if you buy the paperback to make them worth the price.

This one did not do much for me. I would only give it 2.5 stars but not sure how to change the rating - ha! Quite frankly I don't feel like trying to figure it out either. It was not a very long story so maybe there just wasn't enough character development.

Absolutely loved Kate's Crew, this was a truly hot and steamy read, you'll definitely need to keep a fan close by for this one! Jayne Rylon has done it again and given us another awesome book. I wish the book had been longer, I wanted more, more, more! Can't wait to see what she writes next. This book is definitely going in my keeper file to be read over and over again. I would love to take Kate's place for just one day, who wouldn't want 5 hot guys all to themselves.

This book is about a girl named Kate and she is lusting after the five guys that are fixing up the house next door to hers. After, she almost kills herself by almost falling off a roof. Mike (the main guy) saves her just just in time. Then after they spend the night together Kate confesses that her and Mike cannot be together because she lusts after the other four guys in his crew.

After more sex, involving four guys and Kate peeking through a hole and witnessing them all having sex, she thinks that they are all gay. Then Mike convinces her that the other guys want her as much as she wants them. [This is 1/4 of the book]

The rest of the book is about all of them having sex.

Okay so this book was really good in the beginning. However, after the second chapter the whole book was about sex.

The beginning was also so weird that I was laughing and saying to myself, "really? Wow." Then I skimmed most of the 'good' parts.

I also felt that the author could have made this book longer because it left me wanting to know more about the characters and what happened to them after the night they shared together was through. I also felt that the sex sense were too long.

Well, I guess I didn't read the reviews well enough. I was expecting a bunch of men pleasuring one woman. Instead there was a bunch of man on man loving. NOT a turn on for me. I'll be more careful from now on.

Got this book because of the reviews, are these other reviewers reading the same thing? I found the story boring and very very far fetched as far as the main characters "feelings". None of the characters were ever developed enough to care about ANY of them. All the guys were inexchangable really. Short and went nowhere.

If you are not into M/M/M/M then pass on this as there is a all male orgy scene. Otherwise I just find the story/plot lacking.

The story is too short for any character development. The sex scenes sound like they are being read by a play-by-play announcer since there are so many people involved. Even the names are generic so you get lost trying to figure out what Kate, Mike, Joe, Neil, Dave, and James are doing at any one time. In this case, more isn't necessarily better.

Great premise, really enjoyed the free sample. Sadly that was the best part of the book. There were no descriptions, no charachter development - just names of "the crew". I couldn't keep straight who was doing what as they were all interchangable. This is an extremely short story and there is no plot either. Very disappointing.

I didn't even finish this. My idea of a good read is not reading about someone getting gangbanged. I didn't think this book would be that way. I really thought it would have been a little more in depth, with more story and not just pure erotica. But, that's just my opinion. Check it out if you're into that kind of thing.

Last year I decided to start visiting some of the stories that inducted me into the erotica genres. The ones that made me change my mind about the genre, or the ones that were my first. Kate's Crew was my first M/M, and well M/M/M/F/M/M. Well basically orgy read! Up until that point I had read some threesome books. A Goodreads friend informed me that I was a ménage amour reader and I should check out the Powertools series.

Boy was that an introduction. Because Kate's Crew has so much hot stuff going on. My mind kept blowing up! As maybe one of my 3rd or 4th eroticas at the time I was scandalized. And hooked.

Years later visiting Kate's Crew it still does have some of the hottest (AKA raunchy) erotica ménage scenes I've read. However, it's very character light. It doesn't paint what the characters look like, though you can get a slight general feel for their personalities. Heck, even by the end of the book I wasn't sure what the leads name was. One of the guys has a scary big dick, and they're all really muscular men. I think some hair color was tossed around.

Overall it's underwhelming. But I remember being so attached to the characters, and I think it's because the later books finally develop them. Which I will be very curious to find out as I continue my reread. There's some grammar errors, some odd wording, and I will admit one or two sexual descriptions that made me cringe. However, it's still one of the hottest ménages I have ever read.

Sexual Content: Warning! Warning! Totally graphic. Men on men action and 5 men one woman action.

3/5- Adored it, just a few minor details held it back.

So. Take five open-minded men and one desperately curious woman and watch them catch fire in the best possible way. It's a glorious coming together (sometimes literally, if you know what I mean) of...sorry, I laughed so hard at my stupid aside I lost my train of thought. What? It happens. Quite frequently with me.

Anyway. Sexy times abound. If you like dude on dude on dude on...a couple more dudes with a lady, you'll like this book. GOOD TIMES!

This was a pretty good story. Kate and Mike are perfect for each other and their story was sexy and sweet.

Kate is a woman that's working to renovate the house her grandfather left her. Mike and his 4 friends all work together, buying homes and renovating them to sell and then they buy a new house and do it all over.

The blurb pretty much says it all as far as the basics of the story. There's a lot of sex and some romantic drama as Kate tries to figure out if she can have Mike and indulge in more as well. The story ends with Kate and Mike coming together for a sweet start to their HEA.

Overall, this was a good story although there's not much plot as it's high in sexual content and had with lots of dirty talk. Obviously, because of the length, there's not a lot of character background given but I liked the characters and the way things played out. It has a sweet ending to give you a smile to take away. I'd recommend this story. :)

* note - I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator did a pretty good job.

Obviously I knew by looking at this cover that there was going to be some crazy hotness in this book. The general story could be any girls dream. Hot construction crew next door remodeling a house, you've been drooling over not just one but all of them. Turns out while they take breaks they "relieve" the stress from work by having s ex, and if there just isn't a woman around, that's not a problem. They can take care of each other.

Then enter Kate. She's a little shy to start but she quickly jumps on that bandwagon. A lot quicker than I would've thought considering the amount of guys she was taking on. Because really, sometimes one isn't enough, and just two can be boring.

I'll admit that at times I was a bit confused as to who's thing was going where (hey, there's too many to keep track of!) but every sex scene was hot! And for such a short story, there was a lot of it!

But then there is also romance. Although she is with the whole crew there was an attraction and connection with Mike. I felt that wasn't developed as much, especially being a short story that can be hard. But I did like Mike. He's very alpha, as most of the guys.

I am looking forward to continuing this series because this crew and their powertools are just HOT!

A super short but very sexy read. Not a lot happened plot-wise but I really liked Kate, Mike & the rest of the crew. Loved how they were able to develop such an intense connection in a small amount of time.

So glad that book two in the series, Morgan's Surprise, is already waiting for me on my kindle! Joe & Morgan are bound to burn up the sheets in their book!! :)

This was a fast paced book. We don't get the full story behind the characters or at least something other than why they find themselves in that situation. It is a good book for those who don't care much about romance in their stories.

We just get that Kate would love to have her way with five hunks but doesn't know how to approach without being seen as a slut. There is to the fact that she is more attracted to Mike than the others and that she doesn't want him to have her heart and then brake it because of her desires.

There sure are some steamy scenes and crazy love to spread around. But aside from that I would have like more in depth info on the characters. It has the good elements for a great story if the author wants to some day make more of it.

I read this book on the laptop as we drove to Orlando for vacation, do not, I repeat do not try this while driving. Let me say this book was so hot I was seriously feeling like melted chocolate, very decadent and smooth and I needed well...... I had to have my husband stop at a rest area before I embarrassed myself in front of him and the kids and cool off before I finished the story. My husband kept looking at me and asking me if I was alright. I said yes but I want you- to bad we aren't at home. I wasn't sure my legs would hold me up when I got out of the car. The story line is excellent and probably every woman's fantasy. The characters are very likable and I love how Kate "falls" for Mike, and the swimming pool.......OMG. As you can tell the love scenes are out of this world sexy and I could have read on for quite awhile although my husband would have had to clean me up with a spoon . The story reminds me of a line from a old country song....She was hotter than a two dollar pistol..she was the hottest thing in town..... I would have loved the story to be longer with more of those fantastic love scenes and character interaction but this short is definitely full of bang for your buck. Ms. Rylon please consider expanding this story, oh and send those boys my way tonight!!!!I'm staying in Orlando so you can give them directions.

I don't feel like I'm a prude, especially when it comes to book sex, but there was literally nothing else to this story. It reads exactly like a porn script; cardboard characters and terrible dialogue included. I might even be okay with the very sudden orgy that happens if Kate wasn't portrayed as someone that has never even considered anal or group orgies with men she hardly knows.

While I understand some of the lower star reviews about character development it has to be said ha this is just the first book in a series. The following books expand on the characters and you get to know all of them intimately (pun intended).
This book does have some m/m/m/m action but this needs to be there for the later books to make sense. But if this puts you off read the next book with Morgan and Joe. Each book is stand alone and can be read individually but you may want to read them in order so that you can see how all the characters relationship with each other and "the crew" develop into a working relationship.
The love and "family" they all make is not the "norm" but you will see how they all love each other and if IOU let herself forget societies ideas go you will love the series.

This is a quick, steamy read from beginning to end. Though they had both been eying each other for months, Mike's rescue of Kate as she slips down her roof is what really brings them together. Mike's actions show exactly what kind of man he is and his acceptance of Kate's desires proves how right he is for her. Likewise, Kate's stubbornness and determination are shown through her reaction to her fall. It is Mike's tenderness that gives her a sense of security which allows her vulnerability to surface.

The relationship between Kate and Mike is the main focus of the story, but Kate's exploration of her sexuality drives the action. All of the sex scenes are scorchingly hot, but there is also an element of caring that shows the depth of emotion of everyone involved.

Jayne Rylon has written a thoroughly enjoyable read that will satisfy anyone who likes their sex scenes as hot as they come. - Karin

Kate's Crew is a spell binding erotica sure to make you squirm! Jayne Rylon crates a decandant world of sensual lust combined with heart. Kate and Mike have great chemistry but can Kate let loose and take what she desires? Is it even possible? Mike thinks he can convince her. Kate and Mike are the main characters in this book but the second level are just as powerful. They are HOT, and full of mischief. Joe, Dave, Neil and James all different in their own special ways and just as delicious as Mike.
If you like short spicy trips to Nirvana then Kate's Crew is your sweet ticket. Jayne Rylon fills your fantasies with dark pleasures and delights.

As someone who is still not totally comfortable or made "hot" by M/M scenes, I find that Jayne Rylon, has the ability to write M/M scenes that make me hot and totally into the M/M, M/M/F and M/M/M/M/M/F scenes.

I just wish there would have been more about how the relationship grew between Kate and Mike, but it is a novella and for a novella, I was able to connect with Kate and the Crew.

I LOVED Ty and Mason in Night is Darkest, and I find all of the "crew" loveable and totally hot.

I like a book with some sex. I like a book with plenty of sex. But I like the characters having sex to connect in a story before they jump into bed, or in this case the floor. I know it is a very short story and there isn't room for a lot of exposition but I can read free porn on the internet anytime. I read a book to get a connection between characters, emotional as well as sexual. These short sex stories just don't and can't provide that.

It is well written and if you just want graffic sex, then this might be the book for you. I need more.

Wow...this is a fantasy come to life. I could dream about being in Kate's place for days to come. Kate's Crew is a hot little read, just what you need to warm you up on these snowy cold days. Way to knock another one out of the park Ms. Rylon!

I have loved reading all of Jayne Rylon's books and this one did not dissapoint.
The character of Kate is very understandable from a reader's perspective and let's just say that the "Crew" did not dissapoint. The book is hot and so is the action in this book!

If you want a hot read, with great characters and some steamy sex scenes, whoo boy, this is the one for you.

Mike's willingness to let Kate live out her fantasy was fantastic. I loved their interaction and the other guys were just so sweet. They need their own stories too!

I love all of Jayne Rylon's Books!! I have not been disappoinated yet.Jayne Rylon is a auto buy for me.Kates Crew will draw you in and you will know who is doing what, when and where.It was a very hot read..makes you wish for a crew of your own.Can't wait for more from Jayne!!!

I absolutely loved this read!! I've read almost all of her books and loved every one of them! The premise promised a lot of steamy scenery and Kate's Crew delivered big time! The guys were hot and made me wish I could take Kate's place. The only thing wrong with the story was it was way too short but hopefully she'll write more about the guys!!!

I'm a huge Jayne Rylon fan and Kate's Crew did not disappoint. No one can steam up the pages of a story like Jayne. The heroine was fun and adventurous and the hero was too, too hot. He was sexy and sweet and perfect for Kate. I loved the story and can't wait to read future books in this series!
