This book is quite a good introduction to the warcraft universe as it touches upon the original warcraft rts and world of warcraft. My biggest problem is that it glosses over some of the key battles and events.

this was an awesome book. Christie Golden is a great writer. I had a hard time ever putting it down till it was finished. I would consider reading it again and am looking into reading others from this author.

The book was well written but felt rushed near the end. There were a lot of rather large events that were not given enough attention. The personal relationships that Arthas had with other people were really well done though.

To be honest, I don't really like Arthas. However, it was cheap so I decided to purchase it.
This novel can help expand vocabulary. I certainly did.
Compared to some of the other WoW books I've read, this is written pretty good. However, it fails in some places. The battle scenes could have had more detail even if they were insignificant. I don't understand why Christie Golden occasionally used had twice in the same sentence (unless it was just to meet the word count requirements.) I noticed one small mistake. I know the interludes have their purposes, but they slowed down the stories pacing a little. When I read Invincible's birth, I figured that I would be disappointed.

AMAZING book. I only say this because Arthas is my favorite person in the Warcraft universe. The book is well written and very extensive in the lord of Arthas and makes and amazing story. And the store shipped and got it here fast.

Guys, this isn't Christe Goldens fault. She is an excellent writer that explores a characters motivations more thoroughly than most. Her storytelling is hauntingly epic when it wants to be. Truth be told, this book wasn't hers. The details of an epic character were glossed over so heavily and quickly that the book lost so much meaning so quickly. Couple that with the fact that all the important dialogue is stripped right from the game (which fits for the game, but is so awful on the page) that it is just unfair to consider this mess the doing of the author. This is Blizzard's failure.

Great background on Arthus on his rise to becoming what he is when the expansion WotLK comes in. I very much enjoyed reading about familiar characters and the role they played in not only the Lich King but in the world of Azeroth. I now see how much the game is shaped by reading this book.

This is possibly the best in the Warcraft series of books, in my opinion. It's especially enjoyable if you happen to be a fan of the game and you're playing the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, as it helps to pull together much of the lore.
