Charly is a funny character and I love her world. She meets the most interesting people and have great people surrounding her. I love reading about the man she has fallen in love with. He is her hero and mine. He is also rough around the edges but with Charly she makes him want to be good man. I will continue reading about her world and give Darynda Jones keeps writing about this world.

The whole idea that everyone should worry that Charley and Reyes getting together would destroy the world is finally debunked. Of course together they are stronger and the Devil needs a new plan. It was good to see everyone really interacting and Charley back to her old self.

I love darynda jones, this book is crazy, fun, funny, and horrifyingly sad all at the same time. This is a keeper. We learn a little more about Charley,s potential, her powers and a lot more about Reyes, which is never a bad thing, is he the hottest think Satan's Sun in the literary world.

Another fantastic book from Darynda Jones. I'm in love with Reyes and Charlie's adventures and umm (cough, cough) their explosive energy with each other ;)! This story had me on edge and I wanted to skip to the end but I refrained. The only part that still upsets me is Charlie's old friend / enemy Jessica. I want to know what she is up to. I woul recommend this book and the entire series.

Always a treat to read an installment of the Charley Davidson Series! Reyes is so hot....I want one! Charley and her smart mouth are just hysterical and I particularly likes the scenes with her new GPS app! How Darynda comes up with those hysterical T-shirt sayings or statements at the beginning of each chapter is to be envied! Too funny! Highly reccomend this to all her fans...you won't be disappointed.....next book please!

I am loving the relationship between Reyes and Charlie and the path it's taking. I love all the supporting characters as well, they are rich and vibrant and unique unto themselves. I can't remember a book series that was both steamy and laugh out loud funny at the same time. These books have it all... not to mention the funny t-shirt sayings at the beginning of each chapter. All and all, excellent storytelling!!

I have texted, emailed, and called every single person I know who can read and demanded that they start reading The Grave Books. I can't seem to talk about anything else so I need people to understand what I'm talking about when I open my mouth!

Absolutely awesome. This series seriously keeps getting better and better. The only problem with this book, is now I have to wait for the 6th one. And honestly, I can't wait!!!! But don't start on this one. You have to start from the beginning of the series. I promise you will be hooked and won't regret it!

This author keeps getting better with each book in series. I recommend one reads these books in order. To the author I commend as this is the first author whose books I have a rereading addiction to, recommend to anyone who listens, and whose family understands that when released the new book comes first. Yes, that's right ... Unless your gonna die leave mom alone she's in here happy place with Charlie. Yup it's that good.

The fifth book was different than the others so far in series but the author not only made it work but also left me excited to see what follows instead of complacent in knowing what other books will be like in series.

I loved this edition of Charley Davidson's story. To me, it seemed like Darynda Jones exhibited control over her characters, more so than in previous volumes. Yes, Charley is still facetious and witty, but her comments appear less gratuitous in this book. I especially like the direction the story is taking - hooray - we are moving forward. I can't wait to learn more about grim reapers and Charley's destiny.

Who doesn't love Charley Davidson?? Darynda Jones provides a wonderful storytelling experience. Her imagination takes flight in the Fifth Grave story. All I can say is you're missing out if you don't read the series. The romance, the mystery, the paranormal elements all combine to create a solid read. Can't wait for more!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SERIES!! I fell in love with this character from the first book of this series! Charley is witty, smart, a complete smart ass, lovable and I cannot wait to read what happens to her next! I couldn't put this book down and now I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out. Please tell me there is going to be a next book...
Start with the first book in this series and keep going!! You will love them!

This is a delightful series! Charley and Reyes are red hot. The writing draws you in to their world and you don't want to leave. There is something or someone relatable on every page. Can't wait to keep reading.

There's definitely a formula of sorts and Charley still has her madcap adventures where she gets seriously injured and abused. This book advances the relationship between Charley and Reyes which had been in a frustrating holding pattern in the last few books. Still funny, adventure-filled, and Ms. Jones just keeps coming up with creative hijinks.

I love this freaking series. For many reasons. Reyes and Charley are so hot they make ME want to burst into flames. The plot just hammers along getting more interesting by the minute. I laughed. Out loud. I choked up. I even sobbed once. I don't know how Darynda does it, but I'm so hooked. As much as I want answers, I'll be desolate when the series wraps up. Reyes and Charley forever!

It seemed like Charley's character matured in this book. She grew as a daughter, sister, niece and the son of Satan"s lover. She hasn't figured out all of her powers yet, and I thought she could have done more of that. But overall it was a great read and a wonderful evolution of the story.

I love the way this 5th book progressed! The 4th stalled put with too many "dumb" moments from Riley no matter how many times Reyes told her about himself and her powers. This wrapped up some loose ends and the characters developed and became much more robust! And oh that Reyes......!

Darynda Jones keeps the twists and turns coming in Charley's life. There is just enough comedy, suspense, and supernatural plot to keep you interested and excited, but not overwhelmed by the overarching plot. Reyes Farrow is a fabulous distraction from the mystery and seriousness of the storyline. If you haven't started this series, you're missing out!

A little bit of everything wrapped up with a bow (and yet possibly room for another...?) Either way - Sad to be through with the 5 books, but glad to be able to go back to day to day life a little more guilt free. Really really fun series. A lot going on in the old NM.

Truly one of the funniest and most entertaining books I've read this year. And, there are only a FEW books I ever go back and reread and this may be the very first that I've started rereading immediately after finishing! I just didn't want it to end. Please, Darynda, don't make us wait long for number 6. They are just getting better and better!

What can I say, excellent, enjoyable, laughed & laughed. I read a review that said this book was lacking in characters in comparison to others in the series. I noticed no lack of characters or fun. Thoroughly enjoyable. I actually read it twice in 24 hours just for the second giggle (tough week - needed the second load of giggles & I got them).

Darynda Jones never fails to deliver the goods, and by goods I mean Charley Davidson and Reyes Farrow. I stumbled upon this series quite accidentally, but when I fell, I fell HARD. Fast paced, well knitted storyline with complex characters and a fascinating plot. This girl will be back for more.

Every volume just gets better and better! I loved Charley from 1st few pages of the very first book. And the first page of this one had me laughing out loud. By the end, I was more than happy with the storyline and Ms. Jones. My advice to you is to buy all 5 books and settle down for some "happy time" reading. You won't regret it.

Darynda Jones has done it again......Charley still delights with her humor and grim reaper antics and Reyes....well, he still just gets you all hot and bothered....he is the son of Lucider after all...and who can resist him.....
I'm certainly looking forward to the next book.....hurry up all ready!

I loved this book. Charlie Davidson, AKA the Grim Reaper, solves another tricky dead-persons case, hits the sheets with the sexy son of Satan, and explores the ups and downs of friends and family relationships. I laughed out loud at least half a dozen times while reading this book and it takes a lot to verbalize the chuckles. A fun and imaginative series that never disappoints.

This series gets better and better! I love all the characters as they become more fleshed out. How does Darynda come up with all the twists and turns? What a naughty mind she has. Love the sassy and sarcastic heroine. And Reyes.... Wow.

I preordered this book in the series and anticipated its release with my eyes plastered to my calendar--and I was not disappointed. Information about the characters and the plot arc is revealed tantalizing bit by tantalizing bit. The MC, Charley Davidson, keeps growing and getting richer. I feel like Reyes Farrow is in the room with me when he's with Charley. You would think that by the fifth book, the MC would get stale and predictable, but not so.
Darynda, keep 'em coming--and coming fast!

If I thought that darynda couldn't write another grim reaper book and have it be just as awesome as the first four, I'd be wrong. This book was everything and more! The ending alone have me a heart attack! Excellent!!

Anything by Darynda deserved the full rating of 5 Stars. Charlie is a scream, and what can I say about Reyes.....drool!!! I am eagerly awaiting the sixth book. I hope there is a sixth or I'll die of disappointment. Hey, maybe I can pass through Charlie. :)

This installment just melted me into a puddle of goo. I am so happy for Charley and the gang. I didn't like her getting hurt but it is what it is. I don't understand the connection between Charley and Reyes but hey it is going strong.

I love the quirky humor and the way Charley deals with all the horrible aspects of her cases. Her friends and family add a wonderful layer to a well written story. I cannot wait to find out her answer to Reyes!

I absolutely LOVE this series! When I get started on one of Darynda's books I don't want to put the book down! It's always just the right amount of everything...humor, action, romance, mystery. I'm already halfway through book six!

Highly entertaining, had me laughing out loud. Our heroine, Charlotte Davidson, goes by the nickname Charley, I'll just let that sink in a moment, shall I, is a grim reaper. Ghosts pass through her on their way to the other side, the good one. Usually, dead people pass on to their reward or punishment without needing to use her as a portal, but there are those with unfinished business and she assists them,

Charley is also a private investigator with ADD, an evil stepmother, an almost estranged sister, a father she adores. She also have a best friend, Cookie, and this friendship is rock solid. These women would do anything for each other and I appreciate that. They accept each other 100%.

Charley names things. Her cherry red Jeep Wrangler is Misery, "but not like the book."Her sofa is named Sophie. She has named her skull Fred, her brain Barbara, her right breast Danger, her left breast, Will Robinson, her right ovary Beam Me Up, and her left ovary Scotty. She has named another body part Virginia and I'll let that soak in a minute, shall I.

In a corner of her living room, there is a ghost she has named Mr. Wong who never moves out of the corner and is levitating a few inches off the floor. Mr. Wong never speaks, never leaves the corner.

There are several intriguing men in these books, her father and his brother, her Uncle Bob, Garret, a skip tracer/bonds enforcement, agent, Donavan, a biker and his group, Osh, a soul-eating demon, and our hero, Reyes, and I'll him surprise you, shall I.

Gotta tell you there is a series and I have only read the first eight before the remainder became too expensive for me. I think there are twelve out now. I'd love to read volumes nine through twelve. I obtained the first six for ninety-nine cents and because I was hooked paid a bit more for number seven and eight but I think this series is very popular and number twelve now costs $12.99. Yikes.

None of these are standalones. They must be read in order and it does get a bit tedious when the author repeats certain aspects of the back story in each of the volumes.

So much humor, so much loving friendship, tantalizing mysteries, pathos, these novels run a huge emotional gamut and I stayed with it through eight volumes because I just had to know what comes next.

The eighth volume ends this particular story arc and introduces a new one. Most annoyingly it ends on a cliffhanger.

The eight volumes are First Grave on the Right, Second Grave to the Left, Third Grave Dead Ahead, Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet, Fifth Grave Past the Light, Sixth Grave on the Edge, Seventh Grave and No Body, and Eighth Grave After Dark.

Amazing! I unashamedly admit I am addicted to this series. This book is yet another example of why I am addicted. The dialogue is still witty and compelling, the story still well plotted and the characters still unexpected.
