I am disappointed that there isn’t measurements for most food items. Nor is there any calculations for what people need to consume taking into account weight, gender, and age. He gives meal choices for each meal, but I thought it was odd that choice one would just be a piece of meat or fish (no veggies or side) but choice two would be a large salad with some meat. I would prefer to eat more complete meals and have adjusted to make those. The amount of steps on some days are hard to achieve for someone who works full time, has a family, and taking classes. Basically it comes down to eat clean food in low calorie portions, snack through out the day, and exercise a lot.

I find some of this book very helpful however Dr. Ian does not give portion sizes on some of the menus. For example one meal suggestion is quinoa with 3 servings of vegetables. What size is the serving? How much quinoa? Serving sizes vary throughout the book depending on the combination of foods and sometimes there are no guidelines. No where does it provided what you can put on your pasta if anything? I for one cannot eat plain pasta. Finally snack list is fairly comprehensive but deviates from the basic 20 foods.

I read several of the reviews and agree with most in that this is a really good book. Yes some of the info is already available however for me it reiterates the basics and the importance of eliminating certain items that I haven't in the past. I am totally okay without exact portions - with my schedule it complicates things - the options are great and I am already mindful of eating smaller portions. I love to cook and eat and even moreso when I do so healthy "clean" the majority of the time; again this book will help me accomplish that. I also like the exercise plan that is included. Again for my schedule - this will be perfect for me and I am more likely to stick to this than many others. Very user friendly and my own personal reference tool. Thanks Dr. Smith.
