I love Jessica Clare's Billionaire Boys Club books and cannot stop reading and rereading them! If you like Christina Lauren's Beautiful Bastard series, then what are you waiting for? Go out and one-click all of these books! As in all dreams, if you were to be stranded on an island with anyone, who would it be? Well, you can't go wrong with the billionaire who owns the place, even though you have no idea who he is at the time. I really thought that the h, Bronte, was very down to earth and sweet as a character and also very thoughtful towards our H, Logan. They had fabulous chemistry, which quickly turned into some hot encounters on the beach, in the stairwell, under the table... I loved how sweet Logan was with Bronte while they were stranded. After being rescued, you could see his arrogance coming out and I was happy to see how Bronte handled it. The progression of the story was great and easily believable and I really liked how the story ended. Reading books in series is something that I love the most because you know you will be seeing the characters again throughout other books. The boys in the club each have their own unique characteristics and it will be fun to follow them through all of their journeys!

Summer-themed reading was my goal in picking up a batch of books to try and this was one of them. I know the cover doesn't exactly shout this, but it does count even if the beach and island resort portion was only the first portion of the book. The story is a modern fairy-tale style between a working class renaissance girl and a wealthy workaholic. It had many enjoyable aspects, but ended up being just an okay read for me. Although, yes, gotta go on notice here! A trapped elevator scene...love those.

The story opens with Bronte Dawson, winner of a radio contest trip to the Bahamas, being miserable because the hotel is not exactly what she expected in its shabby rundown appearance, the rain hasn't stopped and the co-worker she brought along for companion complains the whole time after pushing Bronte into bringing her along. Its the first vacation in two years and she would just love to have one day in the sun at the beach. But miserable goes to dangerous when a hurricane blows up and the hotel is evacuated. Only Bronte and a cranky stranger she assumes to be the manager are trapped in an elevator and everyone leaves without them.

Logan Hawkings, founder and leader of the Billionaire Boys Club, has poured himself into his businesses since the one woman he thought loved him turned out to be a gold-digger. His fellow members and friends tell him he needs to take a break and to sweeten it he combines business with pleasure as he is looking over an island resort to renovate and get producing a profit. He ends up stuck in an elevator with a sweet, philosopher-quoting, woman who doesn't know who he is so he gets to see her honest opinion without worry that she's playing him for his money. They are stranded together and he plans to make the most of it.

Bronte's miserable vacation has taken a turn for the better. She and Logan work to make sure basic needs are met until rescue, but they also give in to their attraction. She is getting her no-strings vacation tryst. She enjoys the strong, confidant man, but it is when rescue comes and the truth is revealed that she realizes that it was all a lie. This really complicates things and she has to figure out if she can be with a man like Logan and he has to work out whether he can open himself to trust again.

The basic plot was engaging for me. I like these fairy-tale style stories when the common person just being real gets a chance with a person out of their league, but also that the person of rank learns there is more to life than what they have. The scenario of being trapped on the island together was a nice touch too. I liked the band of brothers aspect with club members of wealthy guys and friends. It was fun having the setting shift to NYC to set the tone for the second half of the book when Logan's secret is out.

It was an interesting romance dynamic too. Not sure I entirely bought it and not because Logan has an obscene amount of money and Bronte doesn't. Its tough to explain, but in trying to make Bronte as opposite in situation to Logan as there can be, she becomes out of his league more than just the money. She gets this degree in philosophy and can quote ancient philosophers, but she is content to work a minimum wage waitressing job with no future dreams or goals. She gets prickly and gets some reverse snobbery going on when really there's not a whole lot to defend there since she's boxing at shadows. I'm not dissing those who work hard in low-paying jobs, but it was her attitude and assumptions about it more than Logan's that was the problem. He does challenge her because he sees more in her than she sees in herself, but he's not ashamed of her like she constantly assumes and blames him for. She puts a lot on Logan to carry the relationship and I just struggled with the romance because of it.
I felt like the story stalled out about seventy percent in. Everything is galloping forward including their relationship. Logan does something stupid and Bronte runs (this is becoming a pattern since she did this before too). This is understandable, but then Logan gets his act together and tries to make amends only for Bronte to start playing coy for several pages. I had a twitchy hand that just wanted to smack her for going all whiny and hand-wringing (you love him, he loves you, so get over yourself and stop punishing the guy for your insecurities). Fortunately, she does eventually do that with the help of straight shooter Gretchen planting her boot up Bronte's butt. I wasn't impressed that it took someone else fighting for her relationship before she did anything about it.

From Logan's side of things, he is an arch-type of exactly what one would expect from a guy born to money, but he has a tender side that is willing to hold out for a real relationship. He totally redeems the romance because of this. I loved seeing him tentatively reach out and push past his trust issues to see the gem that is Bronte. He doesn't care that she is a waitress; he cares that she really likes him as a person and wants to be with him. He loves her warmth, laughter and smiles and wants that in his life. He is willing to go out on a limb and bring someone with her background into his world. He wants to lavish her with things to show his appreciation and not to change her. He does tend to be controlling and possessive particularly with Bronte because he knows a good thing and doesn't want to lose it, but he doesn't quite know how to balance the feelings to actions that won't smother her. She really brings out the best in him.

Now, while I found a lot to like, this one didn't carry me away. The story didn't dig deep enough for that. It's a light weight read and I have nothing wrong with that save the fact that some connections needed to be made that weren't. For instance, Bronte's thing with the lies and the lavish gifts makes sense to the reader because the reader knows about her dad lying and cheating on his family, but Logan never gets the memo so all he knows is that he sets her off and sends her running. Even afterwards, when he makes amends she never gives him the underlying explanation of her issue. She wants trust, but she doesn't give it. My last issue is going to sound weird and picky, but this book truly overuses the word 'billionaire'. Honestly, I started laughing when I would see the word come up every few sentences. Definitely a case where less is more.

So I enjoyed, but wasn't wowed by this story. The set up for Hunter and Gretchen's story in the next book has me very interested so I definitely plan to forge ahead with the series. I think what I struggled with in this story was the heroine and another heroine will make all the difference in the world since I liked the plot and the author's writing. Contemporary Romance lovers looking for a hot yet light weight summer read should try this one.

My thanks to Penguin Group for the opportunity to read the book in exchange for my honest review.

Bronte Dawson won a trip to an island paradise. It’s not the greatest vacation and then a hurricane hits and she’s stranded. The very hunky and very rich Logan Hawkings is stranded with her. Together they survive, and bond a bit under the tense circumstances.

I really loved Bronte and Logan, they’re fun characters that have some very sexy chemistry between them. Things turn a bit ugly because Logan, in effort to want to be loved for himself doesn’t let Bronte know he’s a billionaire. This is a pretty common trope, and it works well here, and I was with Bronte when she felt upset about the lie.

Logan is yummy and dominant but Bronte doesn’t just roll over and show her belly. She’s a fabulously strong heroine and I loved that. The plot flows easily and this book introduces the series well.

I look forward to reading about the other billionaires. I highly recommend this story and I enjoyed the humor that Ms. Clare brings to the story and her characters.

Spoilers

The story begins with brief introductions of both Logan (good looking billionaire, of course!) and Brontë (good looking waitress, of course! – though that is not her whole story). Logan, during one of the monthly poker games with his billionaire buddies, decides to invest in a resort hotel in the Bahamas. Meanwhile, Brontë wins a vacation trip to the Bahamas … (a rare treat for a struggling waitress) to the resort hotel Logan has purchased. As luck would have it, or should I say bad luck would have it, Brontë gets stuck in an elevator with Logan while evacuating the hotel as a result of an impending hurricane. Predictably, the power goes off and the two are stuck, alone, in the elevator. Eventually, they get out of the elevator to discover the hurricane has passed, leaving the hotel in shambles. And the journey of discovery of each other begins.

At first, Logan appears arrogant and self-important. But one does see chinks in his armor. There are moments when the two connect in the elevator that lead the reader to believe Logan does have a caring side. Brontë is a university graduate with a degree in philosophy, working as a waitress. She takes what Logan says at face value…that he is the manager of the hotel. So of course, we can see that problems will arise as any relationship that has a lie as its foundation is bound to run into trouble.

I enjoyed the slow beginnings in that the `sexy`part of the story was understated at the beginning. As the romance intensified, so did the bluntness of the language. In this readers opinion, it was tastefully done and for the most part, not over the top. Now if I had only NOT been riding the bus when some of the parts did get steamy…..oh well….

The romance unfolds for the first couple of days on the island. I love the elevator portion where they are in the dark and getting to know each other. The banter is natural for Brontë but you can feel the pain that Logan is going through… he is just not used to making small talk. Though of course, discussing whether one wears boxers or briefs can be a little awkward, though the discussion did bring a giggle to this reader. I like that her opinion of him changed when she introduced herself and Logan asks “Emily or Charlotte?” Logan lets Brontë believe the assumption she has come up with that he is the manager of the resort. We see a light and loving side to Logan as they fall for each other during their time on the island. And of course…their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS….predictable, but an enjoyable journey of their mutual discovery to read about.

There are some humorous parts throughout the book. Here is one example while on the island – the scene is as follows: Brontë and Logan are cuddling while sleeping, Logan is awake and Brontë is just rousing to consciousness:

“Still sleepy, she mentally took stock of where she was. Her butt hurt from sitting on the concrete stairs, and a blanket was pooled around her legs, which were stretched out next to a man’s warm leg. One hand was trapped against the man’s side, and the other was resting on a thick handlebar- She snatched her hand away, mortified. Oh, my God. That was not a handlebar.”

The remainder of the dialogue finds Brontë mortified at what she had done in her sleep. A smile erupted from this reader :)

When they get rescued a few days later, it does come out that he is buddies with the pilot of the helicopter and eventually (like it wouldn’t…really???) is in fact a billionaire. And of course, Brontë takes the high road and declares this only a vacation fling…especially since he cannot be honest. But by the time they are back on the mainland, she relents and they spend a few more days getting to know each other.

As expected, it is a rollercoaster ride for their romance. Without giving more away, I want to say that the journey was a delight even if somewhat predictable.

I quite enjoyed learning tidbits about the remaining members of the billionaire boys club. Of course, this is most likely the segway for the remainder of the series me thinks :)

One of the things I was pleased to read about is that they did practice safe sex, there was concern and respect for each other.

This is the first book in Ms. Clare`s Billionaire Boys Club series that I have read, but it will not be my last.

I read Stranded With a Billionaire while on vacation with my family, and I have to say that, for me, this was the PERFECT vacation book. It was light, romantic, fun, and a very quick read.

Bronte is on the vacation from hell in the Carribean. The island she's on is being evacuated because of a hurricane, her roommate is a living nightmare, and to top it all off, she gets stuck in the elevator when trying to leave because of the weather. Good news - she gets stuck with a gorgeous, albeit grumpy, man, and they are the only two people left on the island. Thus starts a whirlwind romance not without its bumps in the road.

My new fascination are books with romances that start in high-stress situations, like getting stuck in an elevator. I loved that Bronte was a free-spirit with a philosophy degree and no idea what to do with it. She's a waitress waiting for her life to happen to her, and that's exactly what happens when she wins a trip to the Carribean in a radio contest.

Logan is a type-A alpha male who is extremely wary of all women since the one he dared care about turned out to be more interested in his two BILLION dollars than in him as a person. When he meets Bronte, she has no idea who he is or how much he has in the bank, so he's able to let down his guard around her and be real.

For how smart he is, Logan is really stupid when it comes to Bronte. It was my favorite part about him, actually. I mean, otherwise, the man is pretty perfect. He's rich, gorgeous, intelligent. He could use a bit of softening in the personality department, but Bronte brings that out in him. But, for all his demands that a woman must love him for him and not his wallet, it's typical that, when problems arise, he tries to use money to fix them. He forgets that Bronte is a simpler person. That imperfection in him really makes him an amazing character.

More than that, I loved Bronte's lightbulb moment when she realized that SHE was the one making his money an issue between them - not Logan. It was an insightful discovery and one I don't see too often in books like these. It was refreshing, and endeared me even more to a character I already liked quite a bit.

Stranded With a Billionaire is told in 3rd person, so we do get both Bronte's and Logan's POV. It's not overly sickeningly sweet, and the sex was hot, hot, HOT. I enjoyed it so much, that I immediately sought out the other books in this series, and even purchased book #2 (I've actually already read it, and loved it even more!). Jessica Clare is now on my radar - I'll be looking for more from her!

STRANDED WITH A BILLIONAIRE is the first instalment in Jessica Clare’s contemporary, adult Billionaire Boys Club romance series focusing on six billionaire friends who have vowed success at any cost. This is billionaire businessman Logan Hawkings and waitress/philosophy graduate Bronte Dawson’s story. Trapped in an elevator then left behind at a private island resort during a hurricane Bronte and Logan will discover that roughing it will take on a whole new meaning. STRANDED WITH A BILLIONAIRE has a decidedly ‘Pretty Woman’ /Cinderella esque feel to the storyline.

Told from third person POV the premise follows Logan and Bronte’s building relationship while struggling to survive in a resort that has been partially destroyed by the weather. When the evacuation notice went up, Bronte found herself searching for her friend’s passport only to realize that the buses had left without her. Stranded together in a disabled elevator, Bronte and Logan will soon discover that the storm brewing outside is nothing compared to the storm brewing between each other. Their rescue and return to civilization will find Bronte walking away when she discovers that Logan has hidden his true identity and the nature of his visit to the islands.

The relationship between our couple is sensual, erotic and necessary. From acquaintances to friends to lovers, Logan and Bronte want one another but returning to the real world sets a string of misunderstandings and emotional upheavals into motion. Bronte is a woman, struggling with her direction in life, who believes she does not measure up to Logan’s lifestyle. Logan is an arrogant, sexy and dominant man who has fallen hard for the feisty philosophy –spouting waitress. He will have to work to restore Bronte’s trust but Bronte is a woman whose fragile ego must learn to accept that the differences between her and the man with whom she has fallen in love are a matter of the heart and the mind.

We are introduced to the group of six billionaire businessmen-friends and former fraternity brothers whose ambition was to succeed at all costs and succeed they have done. Each billionaire will have a story to tell, a lover to find and a happily ever after. Bronte’s co-worker and roommate Gretchen will play a significant role in the next instalment when –Beauty and the Billionaire-where Logan’s physically scarred friend Hunter Buchanan finds himself drawn to the spunky coffee-serving barista.

STRANDED WITH A BILLIONAIRE is a romantic, passionate and predictable storyline that introduces the men of the Billionaire Boys Club series. If you are a fan of fairy tale endings with a HEA, then the Billionaire Boys Club series is for you.

Billionaire Logan Hawkings is cold, cynical businessman who is a part of a secret brotherhood of billionaires. The story starts out with him attending one of their meetings. It is during this meeting that one of his “brothers” tells him about a resort up for sale on a private island in the Bahamas.
Bronte Dawson is vacationing at this resort with her coworker who tagged along. Bronte won this vacation from her local radio station. The resort turns out to be less than luxurious but Bronte is determined to make the most of her good fortune and enjoy her weeklong vacation.

Bronte meets Logan during the evacuation of the island as a hurricane bears down on the island. They’re stranded together in an elevator and are left behind to fend for themselves. Logan starts out rather cold with Bronte but ends up working with her to get out of the elevator. Over the next few days, their relationship blossoms and Logan finds himself enjoying Bronte; her laughter, her outlook on life and her philosophical quotes for any situation and he is smitten. Best of all, she has no idea who he is so he plays along with her assumption that he is one of the managers of the resort.

I enjoyed the story. I found it to be a lighthearted read, perfect for a weekend afternoon. I liked the banter between Logan and Bronte and his fixation on Plato. I also found the little things she did for him extremely sweet and cute. I found it a little hard to believe, some of the things he did just to talk to her and I didn’t like it that she had no idea what to do with herself. She only knew to be a waitress. But fortunately someone sets her straight the story unfolds well. Overall this is an entertaining read and I would love to read about the other “brothers” in the rest of this series. I hope the author mentions Logan and Bronte too so we can see how they settle down together.

Totally, totally adored this book, sat down and read it in one sitting and still wanted more! It reminded me of the old fashioned romance novels bought up to date with hot sex. There is no sub plots to get in the way, the author delivered a true romance. A billionaire, who has just bought a Island resort, is stranded in a lift with a waitress, when a hurricane hits. Everyone else on the resort has managed to escape, so they are left to survive on their own. He is a cynical, hard nose businessman who, through a hard learnt lesson, believes women only want him for his money. She, on the other hand, is a salt of the earth waitress, who quotes "Plato" and "giggles" when nervous. She thinks that he is the "manager" of the resort and he decides not to tell her otherwise, but to play along. Of course they get rescued, and then "reality" hits and the truth comes out! She feels betrayed, can he make it right? At this stage, the author "pulls out all the stops" and we are left with a romantic love story and the introduction of "the club" which is the foundation of this series. Can't wait to read all the other books in the series!

There is something about books with billionaire-MC that give a satisfaction when reading it. Even though, most of the storyline would be similar and predictable, I found that I could enjoy it when it's well written.

For this one. I really enjoyed it at first. But around the ending it got a bit slow. I found the concept of brotherhood felt bland. All in all, it was okay. The leading to the next book was intrigued enough I want to read it.

I am on permanent disability due to brain damage from birth. I have spastic C.P.

Anyway a friend of mine lent me her paperback copy of this book and I loved it. Still do. Unfortunately, I am couching with friends
and had to give away everything I owned including my library of over 300 books.

My current library is on my cloud reader and my kindle account. I won't be able to purchase any of the Billionaire Boys club novels for a while yet because my limited budget won't permit it. If I could I would purchase them all starting with Stranded with a Billionaire and followed by Beauty and the Billionaire.

If you have the funds with which to purchase these books, do so. They are worth the 5 stars I have seen people give them.

To me they are much better written then others.....such as the this man series.......That is one series I wish I could return.....for credit even though it was given to me as a gift........ Why? so I could purchase some Billionaire Boys club books.

Some time later ===>after this review was first posted<=== my opinion of the books have NOT changed. The dynamics of the two lead characters is awesome and just a tad quirky. I mean what can you say about someone who could ace Jeporady when it comes to philosophers? You will either love her (and the novel) or hate or hate her (and the novel). Personally I love her.

Her bff/apt room-mate is the bomb as well She and Bronte sister will get their own novels in this series. .

Get one-Get them all. They are worth the read.
Fondly,
Basia

Logan Hawkings is visiting the island hotel he recentally purchased to one see what needed to be done and two hopefully to mend his broken heart. But when a hurricane, misplaced passport, and a stuck elevator brings him into contact with an unusual woman he doesn't know what he is in for. Bronte Dawson is a down-to-earth women who quotes Plato among other philosophers. She also thinks Logan is the hotel manager not the billionaire he really is.

Jessica Clare is becoming one of my favorites with her witty, funny, and sarcastic humor writing style. Just the way she writes keeps you intrigued and interested and who doesn't love a group of billionaires in a secret society! I love that Bronte didn't go back on her morals especially when Logan kept throwing money her way...she wasn't having any of that! Stranded with a Billionaire is a cute, sexy, funny story if you're looking for something to escape with then escape with Logan and Bronte!

I loved the movie Pretty Women. Stranded with a Billionaire is a fabulous, sexy redo of the movie. Different in many ways but the same idea. Logan and Bronte's story is different in the way they Meet and Greet. They are stranded on an island in the Bahamas during a hurricane, which results in a magnificent love story between the H/H. The story is very fasted paced, it kept moving along. Logan and Bronte's relationship kept growing. I couldn't put my kindle down until I finished it. Stranded with a Billionaire is one of those love stories that make you feel good for days. I highly recommended this story to anyone who reads this review. A friend recommended and gave this series too me. I am so happy she did. She it the nail on the head with this. Just Fabulous!!!

I enjoyed reading this book. It is an oft-repeated theme with a crabby rich man who could not be bothered to be polite or considerate to anyone except the select few people he trusts. And then comes the sweet, non-mercenary heroine who mistakes him for a guy of average wealth and decides to have a fling. Only they fall in love and the ups and downs are then related to their trust issues. This could have been done in the same old countless repeats as they have before but this author brought a freshness to the story, that I enjoyed thoroughly. It is interesting how a well written story will draw a reader in even though every page is perfectly predicted yet makes an enjoyable read. I commend this author for that and recommend this book to anyone who wants a light read with some erotica.

Logan was the picture perfect example of hot, arrogant and sexy billionaire. While this story was chock full of cliches it still had me engrossed and happy. Logan fell hard and had to learn that love couldn't be bought.. And that he was more then his money. Bronte learned that she was worth more than her job description. Two stubborn souls who just fit. I absolutely want to jump into Hunters story now. I'm a big sucker for Beauty and the Beast love stories.
I definitely plan to read more in this series. Hopefully all will fit my taste preference.

I was intrigued from the title alone. Why does this not happen to me? I want to be stranded with Logan! This is the first installment of The Billionaire Boys Club series and it is a great start to the series! I was sucked in right from the start of the this story. 4 stars

The story starts exactly as the title says, Bronte a young waitress and Logan the sexy billonaire get stranded on an island during a hurricane. Bronte mistakes Logan for the manager of the hotel when actually he is the owner and he does not correct her. Over the next couple of days they experience an "island fling" as Bronte looks at it but Logan has other plans. When they are rescued and Bronte learns the truth about who Logan is she is furious! Logan is not the man she fell for on the island, in real life he is arrogant, rich and gets what he wants and it turns Bronte off. Bronte still finds him sexy though and can't deny the chemistry between the two of them. Bronte is not like the typical girl Logan is used to dating, she's simple and smart and not after his money. Making things work now that they are off the island and in real life, is not as easy as it seems and Logan has his work cut out for him if he wants Bronte in his life for good.

Overall, Stranded with a Billionaire was a fun, sexy, romantic read and I can't wait to read more of this series! The author introduces us to Gretchen who is Bronte's strong, independent roomate and Hunter who is Logan's mysterious billionaire friend and their story will be next and I can't wait to see how it plays out! I think Hunter is a billinaire who will have to work hard to earn Gretchen's affections!

Stranded with a Billionaire is a first from me from this author and it won't be my last. The characters had a lot of depth, very relatable. A world wind love affair caused by a hurricane. Logan needed to know that Bronte was with him for him and not his money. I like how that went. Love the whole secret brotherhood between friends. Hunter, Reese, Griffin, and Jonathan brought a lot to the table and can't wait to see where this goes!

Logan is a billionaire alpha male. He's checking his new hotel when a hurricane blows in and traps him with Bronte in the elevator. At first it's just about surviving, but then attraction hits and it's difficult to maintain their hands off while being totally alone at the wrecked hotel.

Bronte was fun, I loved her quotes. She's young and kind of a geek, so you wouldn't think she would be a good match for Logan, the sexy billionaire who is used to get everything he wants.

It's a romance full of twists, it's more difficult than you would thought for an independent woman like Bronte to have a billionaire boyfriend, and for Logan to trust a woman. But it was fun to see them together, and I even loved the secondary characters (I'm talking about a certain redhead).

It started good but at the end it was a little weak (too many things going on), but I really enjoyed Bronte and Logan's romance (I couldn't stop reading), and I'll keep an eye for next book of the series, Beauty and the Billionaire.

This novel was a good introduction to a new series - Billionaire Boys Club. It stands to reason that billionaires would have friends that are also billionaires, and that billionaires would have trust issues revolving around being wanted for their money; hence our hero. Our heroine is a lowly waitress that is stranded during a hurricane with said billionaire. Cute meet, sparks fly, lots of passionate sexual encounters, witty dialogue and beautiful settings make for a fast easy read. I admit that I had a little trouble warming up to our heroine, but I did enjoy the story, predictable though it became. The happily ever after was satisfying, and I look forward to other books in the series.
I rated it 3 stars because the female character was not as well drawn as the male, and also because the billionaire theme seems to be too easy and ok as a fantasy but hard to swallow for real life. It was not badly written, but just not compelling enough for me.

Some parts feel disjointed in the story making it seem like several books in one. The hurricane, the whirl wind to New York, the break up and then dating. But overall I was able to enjoy this book. It's not meant to be world altering literature, take the story for what it is, a fun sexy hot romantic read.

Jessica Claire really made me feel the emotion coming from Brontë she was so sad but still wanted Logan so bad. And Logan and his conflict over self-preservation vs love. There was a nice setup for Hunters story next and enough of a glimpse at the rest of the Brotherhood to make you read on in the series.
