The Haven is exciting. I enjoyed the keep me on my toes writing. I love to read books that keep my thinking about what will happen next when I have to put it down for the night. Eleira is a strong girl in my opinion. James, Raul, and Phillip are typical siblings with the added power of being vampires. Each has his own good and bad characteristics. I was pretty upset about James in the end and really surprised at Phillip near the end as well. It was sweet yet sad that Raul and Eleira were not confident in themselves enough to let the other know their feeling for them. Good versus evil or should we say super villain stories are my favorite. I am impatient for the next book to come out. Perfection takes time and I will be patient.

Going into this book, I saw similarities with Bella Forrest Shade of Vampire series. I decided to give it a chance, since you can't judge a book by its cover. Anyways, just finished the book and I love the characters. The Villain: James; Hopeless Romantic: Raul; Confused victim: Eleira; underappreciated:Phillip; Villainess: The Queen mother. Can't wait to see how the fight for power over the coven/haven plays itself out and wil! Elvira become all that she could be.

This was one of the worst series of books I've ever read. I'm a avid reader and don't quit on books but I have on book 4 of this series. The vampire gift is hard to follow, goes in so many different directions it's hard to follow, and even after the 3rd book I don't feel like I even know the story yet. Would not recommend these books it is not an enjoyable read, it's confusing, and I kept hoping it would get better but it never did, sadly.
The Gatekeeper's Sons (The Gatekeeper's Saga Book 1) :: An Urban Fantasy Romance (The Marked Mage Chronicles :: Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy :: The Shadowhunter's Codex (The Mortal Instruments) :: City of Bones; City of Ashes; City of Glass; City of Fallen Angels

This is an amazing book. I have always loved supernatural thriller books; especially ones involving either faeries or vampires. The Vampire gift has become one of my top five favorite books due to its drama, suspense, and plot twists.

I was engrossed throughout the entire book. The fear and passion was really felt I couldn't stop reading and I can't wait to read the next book. I need to know what happens to Raul when he gets back to haven with his new vampire and find out what will happen to James and Victoria.

The Vampire Gift 1:Wards of Night was an enthralling story. It was a strong read and I enjoyed it very much. I rated this book a four out of five stars because although it was enjoyable it was a little slow at times. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy.

I couldn't puf it down. Totally fascinating from start to finish. I don't think it is comperable to twilight at all it surpasses it by furlongs. Action packed it just begs you to keep turning pages till there is none left.
THANK YOU!!!!

I absolutely love wards of the night. It kept me guessing to the end. Love the 3 vampire brothers and their struggles for the affection of Eleira. Can’t wait to read more...... ready to start book 2.

I'm usually a big fan of vampire/magic stories, but this one was hard to even get through. The character development was non existent, the plot was weak, and the emotional connection to the characters felt forced. On multiple occasions i was literally confused by expressions of love and friendship that came out of nowhere. Too many holes were left in the storyline and the writing wasnt good enough to even entice me to read on to the next book. All in all its not worth the read.

I haven't found a writer that could keep my attention and draw me into a book since Stephanie Meyer but this book is unbelievably great. I couldn't put it down. I got lost in a new fantasy of The Haven. Won't you allow yourself to take a new adventure with a new author and series...

I absolutely loved everything about this book. From the love triangle between the brothers and Eleira, write down to the horny old queen who was always trying to make out with one of her sons. This is a book for vampire lovers, it's kind of written in the style of a Belleforest book but not quite the same. I very much enjoyed this, and would recommend it to all.

I started reading this book because it was advertised as the next Bella Forest. All I can say is who ever wrote that hasn't read Bella. I found this poorly written, it was stilted and there was no flow. None of the characters had any redeeming qualities and the storyline just didn't work. Don't waste your time.

Came across this book as it was a free bonus book in a series I was reading. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it was a GREAT book!! I was pleasantly surprised. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!

I was actually looking forward to reading the series. However, there is a right and a wrong way to write a first person story. This is the wrong way. How are there so many who like this book? I couldn't make it past the first couple of pages before the incessant use of the words I, me, myself, my, I, I, I, I...got on my nerves. What time I did spend reading this book was entirely taken up by an uncontrollable urge to re-write the book to make it sound better. Look…I just wanted a book to get lost in. This one was impossible for me to do that with.

Eleira wonders this as she is taken into the secretive world of " The Haven". Join her as she struggles with the reality that she has no choice. And that her and Raul share a bond that only intensifies. The struggle for power his brother James goes to great lengths to achieve through deceit and evil .Read the tale of brothers that all struggle to break free of their Mother the Queen ,who is mad with power and cruelty.

This book was sooo boring. .
Sorry I don't mean to be harsh, but it really was just a silly, trying to copy a shade of vampire, book.. I could even finish it. The writing was just unbelievable and simple. Couldn't keep an interest at the characters were incredibly flat. I don't get the 4 or 5 stars for this at all. Thank Goodness I didn't waste money on it and borrowed it through unlimited. I would have demanded my money back.

It was a good read although it did remind me of a mix of other books that I have read. However it was all the good things from the other books that were incorporated into this one it seems. I read so many books they all seem to blur after a while. I can't wait for June to come so I can get the next book.

The Vampire Gift is one of the best vampire novels I've read! I've never read a book with alternating narration. It was so interesting to see what the other characters were actually thinking during various events. I couldn't put it down, the story had a great flow & no grammatical or spelling errors. I can't wait to read Book 2!

Great story! I love to discover authors that can create a vision of their world with clarity. Dark and painful with emotional drive, I'm compelled to keep reading to find out what happens next. A worthy start to what I now must finish of this series..

I enjoyed reading this book, it kept me enthralled and I couldn't put it down. I think Morgan is so funny, in how she talks to he son, while she is also scheming and always has an alternative motive. I loved the ending... can't wait to read the next book ;-)

I was hesitant to start this book at first. I thought it might be a retake of Twilight. Turns out that I couldn't put it down once I started. I want to read more. I find myself wondering what is happening next and how fast can I get the next book!!

I did like the book however there seems to be a lot of similarities between this book and A Shade of Vampire. It makes it a little hard to get through since I feel sometimes that they are too similar when it comes to main parts of the plot. I have started the second book and I am hoping the similarities do not continue in the rest of the series. Pretty good writing with a few grammar/spelling errors and one spot where the point of view was incorrect. Some scenes are slightly rushed through while others are drawn out unnecessarily. However, it has drawn me in enough for me to continue.

I really enjoyed this book. It maintained my interest enough to read book 2 and am now on book 3. I am hoping that this will be a long eventful series that I will be waiting for the next release every time I finish a book.

The book was a decent read, there were a few errors I noticed in the first few chapters when it was Raul's POV and the brother being referee to was Phillip but it said Raul, I also found it a bit cliché how the main character so easily accepts what's happened to her like its no big deal people get kidnapped by vampires all the time to fulfill prophecy's. I rated it 3 stars because I honestly think the books middle of the road, I've read better, but I've also read worse

This was a fantastic story with an exceptional world created by the author. It takes a while to get into it (thus the 4 stars) but has just enough to keep you until it gets y you hooked. And it will if you let it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I preferred it over the Shade of Vampire series, which tried to create too much forced conflict. This is definitely going to be one of my new favorite vampire books, I'm very excited for book 2!

I enjoyed reading Wards of Night! It has its own unique plot twist and setting to the usual vampire books. I loved the amount of action and suspense that was entwined into the love story. I did feel like there could have been more in depth descriptions of both the settings and the details of the characters. Overall it was a short and sweet; I will continue to read the Vampire Gift.

This book had your curiosity peaked from the beginning!! What's happening, is she dreaming, where are these people that are holding her hostage? All those questions and many more where going thru my head! I had to read more to the point I didn't want to put it down to understand. Love books like this, wonderful storytelling.

The grammar was paltry and the story line has been done to death. I do not believe the author spent the time to develop the thought for the book before writing it. It reminded me of when you tell students to check their essays before turning them in and you can tell the ones who did and who did not. Ms. Knight would have been in the latter category. The book would be okay for someone with a low level reading ability but anyone who loves books and reads them as much as I do will be sadly disappointed. I will say, however, the book ended on a suspenseful moment to encourage the reader to buy the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed reading these books. I'm always searching for a good vampire themed book that will spark my interest and these books have done that. I feel that they flow very well, and I love that you get the opportunity to read and see things from other characters perspectives. It's a great read and anyone who enjoys these types of books will enjoy this series.

This is an amazing book, I thought it looked interesting and started reading it. It's like twilight but way better. It even has Victoria and James together in it and some of the same concepts, but it's not as boring as twilight. This book has a lot of action and it's more interesting!

This book was a fantastic read! I read it in less than a day. I love how you get to read in the four main character's perspectives. It keeps you enthralled into what will happen next with each of them. This book is a mix of vampires, magic, and romance, what else could you want?

The first half of the book is about a 3 star, quick and light read. It has many elements that seem to be drawn from other popular Vampire related installments, for example the Shade of Vampire novels, the TV show the Originals/Vampire Diaries. The first half of the book has appropriate pacing and a very predictable but interesting story line. Unfortunately the second half of the book feels to be rushed, the writing style changes and seems less mature, a lot is left unexplained, and that is why I've given this novel 2 stars. I purchased this book for free with Kindle Unlimited, I would not pay for this book.

This book was a relatively fun, predictable and quick read. I would recommend this for simple reading.

This isn't a horrible read. It isn't a fantastic read either. I don't think I would recommend the series based on this first book. I was hesitant after reading her Shade of a Vampire series (poorly written, waaaay too long of a series - I gave up).

This book has MANY similarities to the series I mentioned. From a hesitant heroine to the brooding vampire to the description of the location to the supporting characters. So much so that I knew exactly where the story was heading early into it. If you haven't read the other series this one would be interesting to read.

I do think her writing style has improved and it was an easy read. I don't think there was enough story development though. It would have been more interesting to develop the relationship more between Eleira and Raul instead of the typical "electricity when they touch" love that happens with barely any talking.

I will give the second book a try to see if it develops the story in an interesting direction. If not I will be done with this series.

3 vampire siblings. The 2 oldest boys fighting over the gitl from the prophecy. The eldest found her so he thinks she's rightfully his, but she's inexplicably drawn to the younger brother. Her scent and blood is irresistible to the other vampires. They live on an island in perpetual night thanks to a witch, ruled by their parent. The girl is horrified that vampires live in luxury where humans are kept as cattle with no modern luxury. The older brother, seeking power, joins the rival coven and starts a war..

Which book? Actually, both. This book does offer some differences, but 90% of the book came from Bella Forrest. I'm interested to see whether the 2nd book continues down that route or offers a new plotline.

I guess the people rating this one high, have never read "A Shade Of Vampire" series by Bella Forrest, which this is almost a complete copy of and was written long before. If there was a copyright infringement case, this would lose hands down.

This was a fun read. I like that it didn't get to deep in description while still giving a vivid picture of the characters and setting. I can't wait to read the next one. I tried to give it 5 stars but it only allows 1

I'm not sure why this book keeps getting 5 stars. There is a severe lack of character development. We know nothing about E's life before being taken and very little of the family living in The Haven. Maybe there will be more depth and emotion in the next book, but I will not be reading it to find out.

I had DejaVu reading the first two chapters in this book. The kidnapped 17 year old ,the prophecy, the vampire brothers, the one brother who wants the girl for himself because he "found" her. Its a ripoff. A very BAD one at that. The writing is very amateur and at times contradicts itself. I had a hard time reading it.
