This a great enemy -to- friends- to lovers story. Riss isn't some hopeless heroine. She is a kick-ass truck driver who can take of herself. When she is injured and actually does need help the last person she expects to help her is Ike Palmer. Ike convinces Riss to let him help her out during her recovery, but in the end, Riss helps him out too.
I loved the interactions between these two. I loved Riss and her little alternate realities.
This story is part of series but could be read as a standalone.

The best kind of stories are those that are enemies and turn into something stronger and lovable. What is there not to love between Riss and Ike. They are constantly on each other nerves and bickering but for their friend’s wedding they will get along. Fast forward Riss is in an accident and needs help and who other than Ike steps up to the plate. What will happen when they are in close proximity? Will they give in or continue the bickering? Loved this story funny and HEA

What another great book by Ms James. The 9th book in this series and was a great book to read. Riss and Ike have that love hate relationship, with sexy verbal play, family intrusion, romance, and all around great read. It is a book about romance and being true to yourself, even through all the struggles and ups and downs life brings on. The bantering and the bringing in of past characters brought laughs and joy when reading this book. Have to say this was another hit for Ms James and this series.

Lorelei James does it again! This time she gives us Ike and Riss an unlikely couple that clashed from the moment they met. They both put up really high walls and it takes an unexpected event and some forced proximity to bring those walls down and for this couple to really get to know each other for who they really are and not the personas they show to the outside world. Not only do they reveal themselves to each other but they also challenge each other to be honest about what they really want from life. I adored this slow burn romance and felt that this couple were perfectly imperfect as they were both inexperienced with dating and worked to figure out their relationship and ultimately fought to be together. Great job Lorelei!

If you like books that feature sarcastic banter between the characters, this one is for you! The main characters have a love/hate relationship and are brought together through unexpected events, resumting in both of them learning they are exactly what each other needs. She’s fiercely independent and when she is injured and needs help do most everything, Ike is there for her. He’s apathetic and needs a kick in the pants to get his act together, and Ross takes care of that. I loved this one from beginning to end!

Ike Palmer and Larissa Thorpe agreed for their best friends’ wedding to call a truce. Then after Larissa suffered an accident, Ike offered to let her recover at his house.
Even though there was a truce, Ike and Larissa kept the sarcastic comments going between the two of them, allowing laughter throughout the book.
As Larissa recovered, they both helped each other deal with personal issues and grow in ways that they did not see coming. Ike realized that he needed to let his sisters do things for themselves and Larissa realized that it was ok sometimes to let people do things for her.
Racked and Stacked is a great addition to the Blacktop Cowboys series.

Ike and Riss have annoyed each other since the day they met. They couldn’t be in the same county without sharp barbs and insults flying. A mutually agreed upon truce for the sake of their best friends’ wedding begins a journey that nobody would have ever expected. Oh, there are still plenty of gut-busting jabs, but now there’s combustible heat too. A tough as nails female truck driver and a laid back stock contractor fight each other, friends and family to find their happily ever after. Lorelei James has another sexy, steamy and swoon-worthy cowboy romance hit!

A perfect example of opposites attract! Both lost parents at a young age, but they were on opposite ends of responsibility. I love Riss' independent, take charge & tolerate no nonsense attitude. Ike, definitely a genuinely good guy! He's so sweet & exactly what Riss needs! I loved that there wasn't a ton of misunderstanding drama between them through the entire book. It was a nice easy read, like all of her books!!

So excited for a new installment in this series ! Starting the book I thought I had this story figured out. Of course there is a HEA but I thought this was a frenemies story with some forced proximity thrown in. But wow as the story progressed the characters developed and it became much more than any trope could define. These characters have a past and baggage like we all do. They must fight their old habits to find happiness. From a gal that never dates and a guy who raised his sisters the sparks fly. Lorelei writes strong characters and smexy times that never disappoint.

I always love reading a new Lorelei novel, especially ones that feature cowboys & ranchers and can’t wait for more. Her writing & knowledge fascinate me. A for sure a page tuner!

Fans of the series will love this installment. Even though each book is about a different couple, I wouldn’t recommend reading out of order.

The Blacktop series continues with Ike and Riss, who you might remember from past books. Ike bought Jackson Stock Contracters earlier in the series....
Going from enemies to lovers, is not an easy ride for Ike and Larissa. Both of them end up in unknown territory more or less by accident, and learn a lot about eachother, but most about themselves - and they absolutely never expected to fall in LOVE..

Like always Lorelei James story is a joy to read, and the characters are well-composed. Dialogue is a blast and very real - I love reading about these cowboys...

Lorelei James book Racked and Stacked is a great addition to her Black Top Cowboy series. I fell in love with Ike and Riss and their friendemies relationship during Hang Tough. I had in my mind how I thought this story would go, but as usual, I was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out. Riss is a woman that does not want to be tied to a relationship, while Ike seems to ready to settle down. Will their dislike for one another allow their hearts to see how good they could actually be together? I loved their story!

Ike and Riss have been fighting since they first met. But when their best friends got married they called a truce to their bickering. And realize they kinda like each other. So when Riss gets hurt Ike brings her to his place to heal up and take care of her. That’s when the real sparks begin to fly. And when they finally hit the sheets together it’s explosive. Can they keep the heat hot enough to fan the flames of love? Let’s hope they can!

Racked and Stacked is a juggernaut of sexual tension that builds to a maximum level. The relationship building of Riss and Ike in this book is painful and sweet at the same time. I really enjoyed hearing their journey and that it wasn't all smooth sailing. How do two people work through their own issues and come out with a healthy relationship? Would definitely recommend this book for romance lovers.

Riss and Ike have always fought like cats and dogs but since they're in their best friends wedding they formed a truce. During the truce they find out that they don't really hate each other and their relationship grows when Riss is injured and Ike takes care of her. Fun romance where opposites attract.

Another perfect story from Lorelei James. We've met both Riss and Ike in previous Black top Cowboy stories but their story is all it's own. The witty banter through out keeps you engaged and laughing throughout all the pages. You will enjoy every word you read of this book. This has now become my favorite of this series so far!! Love it.

Riss and Ike call a truce to constant squabbling for their friend's wedding but who would have figured that all that bickering was merely foreplay. Ike is sweet and sexy and Riss is a girl who knows how to make it in the world. Together they are combustible. It doesn't get any better than this.

I loved the quick wit between the characters. It seemed to start a little slow for me but once they were together more it picked up the pace. I loved how Ike always told Riss to come and give him a damn hug. It sucks that his sisters had to be sick bitches to Risa but was cool that her bothers accepted Ike.

Enemies turned lovers... awww... Riss, a strong, independent (and quite stubborn) woman finds herself with an injury that not only prevents her from working but also from taking care of herself. Ike, one of those (almost overwhelming) guys who really just needs someone to take care of, steps in and here we goooo!

An enemies to lovers, nursemaid/roommate to lovers, work together to lovers novel. Yes, this sounds like a lot in one novel, but when you know that Larissa "Riss" Thorpe and Ike Palmer have been building to this storyline, like an eruptive volcano, than this novel is perfect.

Their obvious hate, which they had to call a truce to, all in the name of their best friends wedding since they were the best man and maid of honor. For those who haven't read the previous novels in the Blacktop series, Lorelei James isn't one to leave you hanging, (although I do highly recommend reading the other books because Lorelei is a master in her field) but back to my point of discovering Riss and Ike's hate for one another like most things in life it stems from a lot of misconceptions and grudges best left in the past.

However, with their truce firmly in place and working together in the name of their wedding duties, for the first time ever Rissa and Ike both begin seeing each other through new eyes vs. the antagonistic goggles they'd been wearing for years. They shed a lot of misconceptions once their instant hate barbs and deflections go away

Now to add to the storyline, because theirs is a juicy bit of fodder that has been building for years, just ask the Mud Lillies who has the best backstory for these two, this whole enemies to lovers bit is just the cherry on top of a delicious Lorelei sundae. Her worlds are lush, character rich and always leave you feeling rode eight ways till Sunday and hung up wet and I love every moment since I'm back on Monday begging for more!

So, as I was saying, Larissa "Riss" Thorpe is known for her independent, stubborn, tomboy streak which runs a mile wide. As one of a few women in the trucking industry she's worked hard and taken no prisoners to get where she's at. It's probably why Ike's easy demeanor known as "Palmer the Charmer" irritates her so much. She's clawed her way into everything she's ever owned and done while Mr. Easy-Go-Lucky just has to charm his way into what he wants and life's a breeze. She hates him on principle alone.

If only Riss knew the truth.

Ike isn't the man everyone believes he is. His easy going personality is just that a personality that he puts on, especially when Riss is around. She brings something out in him and it's something he can't define, but he is hoping she can help him because Palmer the Charmer needs the get up and go that Riss has going on in her life. Perhaps having her under his roof is the inspiration he needs because, yes, if there wasn't one more layer added to this book, it's the nursemaid/roommate factor.

Riss has a serious accident that requires someone to care for her and due to the predicament that Ike has put himself in (don't worry, I won't give everything away, you'll need to read why and how this all takes place) he is the perfect choice to become the one to help her out. As it turns out Ike also becomes the perfect choice to help Riss out when she is in a tight spot with her employer.

Two souls down on their luck breathe life back into each other, unknownst to those poor souls how much their differences would mean and inspire one another when they crossed paths so long ago. Racked and Stacked is beautiful, funny, sexy and Lorelei James excellent!!

RAcked and Stacked by Lorelei James is so fun! These two, Ike and Larissa, will have you alternately laughing out loud and sighing for all kinds of reasons. I just love these Wyoming characters that are featured not only in this series but many other books this author has written. Between their toe-curling, set your panties on fire dirty talk to their sweet, loving and protective actions and tendencies, what's not to love! Ike is no exception. The female characters are just as fascinating. Indepent, strong-willed, fierce, beautiful, smart, and sassy just to name a few characteristics of Larissa's personality. She's fun, brash, speaks her mind and drives trucks! I just loved reading about her and Ike and how they changed their ways and came together despite it all.
Overall a very well written book that is engaging in so many ways. Lorelei James is a must read author for me and again she did not disappoint!
