Octavia Butler was one of the only African American women writing science fiction with subject like gender, race and disparities worked in a very creative way. This is one of several books in a series following generations of women in future worlds. Beautifully rendered. Ms. Butler's death is a great loss for us all.

Octavia Butler is one BRILLIANT author. I am a big fan ever since Kindred. If you are truly a sci-fi buff, you will love reading any of her books. Seed to Harvest trilogy takes you through time and space. wonderful experience.

Engrossing tale that spans centuries. I was sad that the tale had to end not knowing what happens next. Butler so deftly constructed these various characters that these stories are visually stimulating and calling for a turn on the big screen.
The Complete Xenogenesis Trilogy (The Xenogenesis Trilogy) :: Adulthood Rites (The Xenogenesis Trilogy Book 2) :: How Not to Be a Dick: An Everyday Etiquette Guide :: George Washington's Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation (Little Books of Wisdom) :: A fascinating tale from the multi-award-winning author

If you enjoy dystopia fiction... with a social justice component, you will love this book. I loved getting lost in this book, and then examining it with reality. I bought it so that it can become apart of my permanent collection!

She provides insight into power dynamics and structural oppression for the future. She reminds us that sci fi doesn't necessarily mean a world that defaults to whiteness, or able-bodied people, but helps us to imagine a world where these same structures still exist..along with alien micro-organisms, primordial beings, immortality, etc.

Not usually a fan of science fiction, but these books have made me hungry for more. Amazingly easy to get lost in the story and lose while days. I was so connected with the characters that I was genuinely sad when bad things happened to them. Well worth the money. Purchase the four book complete series.

I really wish she had written more in her lifetime. She created a wonderful blend of sci-fi and social issues. I've read her books over and over again and every time I wish there was more. This is a fantastic deal on a collection of hers. I own the books but had to get it for the kindle also.

Great story. Unlike most SF which starts with interesting ideas only to fall short, her stories/plots only get better as you read them. Very imaginative. This series combine genetics, apocalypse and alien life.

Octavia E. Butler was one of the premier "science-fiction" writers of our time. Her untimely death has left a gap in the genre that cannot be filled by anyone else, especially not obvious copycats like Due. This book contains the entire Patternmaster series, including my personal favorite Clay's Ark. Even if you have the individual books, and I do, this volume is a wonderful compilation of her works. I recommend this work to Butler fans.

Butler makes the difficult and intricate task of weaving a story feel as simple as the repetitive motions of crochet. I am sad every time I complete a series. If only she had lived longer. But rereading is as good if not better than the first time, every time.

I'm still having nightmares of Doro and wonderful dreams of the Patternists; especially the healers. Ms. Butler still remains my favorite SciFi author. If only her works could be made into movies. They'd certainly be a cult following.
