Luckily I started this book on a rainy, cold, day-off morning because I didn't put it down until I was finished! Written in classic Rain style, it's fast paced, rich in characters and a story that sucks you in. You won't be sorry you bought it!

I just finished reading this book and loved it. Allison is back in this 2nd in the series. Allison is a witch and she is psychic due in part with her association to the vampire Samantha Moon. She is also friends with a Ghost named Millicent who also is a witch. In this story Allison tries to save a father and daughter from a nasty demon. She seeks guidance from Mother Nature. Samantha Moon recommends that she talk to the Librarian(who is a very interesting character! Hope to see more of him!)
This book was held my interest from start to finish you will not want to put this book down.

This book DESPERATELY needs work and no reader should have to pay for an e-book with multiple and numerous mistakes.
Sloppy work and zero use of an editor (or use of a really bad one), annoys the reader and takes away a lot of the enjoyment.
There were so many missing words from sentences and also sentences that just didn't make any sense at all. A phrase was used and was used incorrectly.
There were letters missing from words as well.
Example A: I wasn't sure how long went by.
Uh......WHAT?
Example B: I was walking down Third Street surrounded by rows of elegant apartments and apartments.
Hahahahahahahaha
Apartments and apartments and apartments....Yeah, we get it. Apartments. Lol
The author say's "as corpses were wont to do" instead it should read "as corpses ARE wont to do".
The book is a mess and was never edited. Buyer beware that if you're going to pay $4 for this work, know that it's sloppy and not professionally edited. The mistakes will distract you while reading.
With the book the way it is now, it should be offered for free. Any product made available to the public for a price (regardless of what its cost) should be an exceptional product, or the consumer is entitled to a refund.
It was also funny that Billy Turners house (with the demon living inside) was on Mockingbird Lane just like the Munsters. Lol
I like Allison's character, but these books need to be cleaned up. A lot.
I read this for free because of Kindle Unlimited, but if anyone else paid for this and wants a refund, you're entitled to one, so click on "return for refund" and select quality issues from the pull down menu on your reason why. Maybe the author and publisher will do what they're supposed to do when enough people stop paying for these messes they call books.

This is the second story in the Witch series. Allison is a self described psychic who can remote view and telepathically fly around people's homes but she can't find her own car keys. This time when Allison finds her client through the psychic hotline, she is in over her head battling the most evil of all demons. She gets some help from old friends along the way. There is a father in denial, a daughter fighting for her life and wizard who doesn't exist in a library you cannot see. No one writes them like J.R; solid plots, great dialogue and cool characters.

'The Witch and the Englishman' was a great short story. I love J.R. Rain's writing style. The storyline in this story was great. The characters, as always, are awesome. Allison is such a great lead. I love her humor. Plus she's a witch that is completely bad-ass. Ivy makes a great addition to the triad. I like her go-get-em style. Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. I look forward to reading more of this series and more of J.R. Rain's work. A great add to your tbr list.

I loved this book and loved the thoughts going on inside Allison's head. I especially liked the by-play between the Librarian and Allison. It shows that in a dire situation there can be some humour. It was a page turner. It held my attention through the entire story, I did not find any parts boring or hard to get through parts. I couldn't wait to see how they defeated the demon. It also had its sad bits, but it was a truly wonderful story. And of course, they had to find another witch to complete their triad. I also enjoyed seeing Samantha Moon showing up.

Without giving anything away, The Witch and the Englishman is a great read with characters you cheer for. Allison Lopez is back for another dangerous adventure. Going up against an ancient evil she needs the help of her friends including new friend and witch, Ivy. With Ivy and Millicent, her spirit friend and sister witch, they plan to rid the earth of the ancient evil. The book had my interest from the first page and kept it until the end - loveable characters and good storyline!

I really enjoyed the characters in The Witch and the Englishman. I couldn't put the book down. I love how J.R. pulls different series together by having characters from one series know characters in another series. As a reader I feel like I know everyone and if a character is mentioned from another series, I want to get to know that character so I pick up that series to read as well. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Another great tale from JR Rain. I Have loved Allie from the first Moon books she was in. She is great character and always go something going on. I love her compassion. As for this new tale i was hooked early on. I was really pulling for her to be able to save the Englishman.
They books are always a gripping fast real and well worth it. I can't wait for the next one!

Love J. R. Rain! Allison is on yet another journey where her powers help the unfortunate... but that is VERY fortunate for us! No spoilers here, but you can't go wrong with this book. It's a great read that will keep you turning pages! Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!

Was very impressed with Allison's character development in this one. She's went from fluffy girl to a force of her own in alliance with Samantha Moon. Much greater exploration of the mystic aspect hinted in the Moon Series, and expert integration of it into the story.

The Witch and The Englishman is the perfect book to read for an afternoon escape from reality. The book's heroine is Allison Lopez, who is just fully coming into her Witchly talents. And of course, my favorite J.R. Rain character, Samantha Moon makes a few brief apperences. If you love witches, ghosts or "things that go bump in the night" I'd highly recommend this book. Thanks J.R. for another great read! I can't wait for your next release.

This short novel is another great addition to this authors many works. I am a fan of the Samantha Moon series and am so glad he is further developing the stories of the characters around her! Readers don't need to have read the Moon series to enjoy this novel, but anyone that does read this really ought to pursue those next!!

this is my 1st witch, vampire, demon, dead peoples book & to say it was scary can only be explained by my scream when my husband suddenly entered the room while i was reading. the humour kept me ok with the book... but i don,t know if i,m willing to face going back to this realm. if seasoned vampire readers think i,m a wass... you,re right!
