Gripping STORY with interesting characters and slight plot twists. I really enjoyed the main characters. This is definitely one of my favorite Stephen King novels. I could hardly put the book down each night.

Set against the historical backdrop of the 1970s, this novel is an interesting look at psychometry, the ablility to know things about people by touching objects that belonged to them. Others have explored the plot enough that I won't go into it.

Maybe this would have been considered suspenseful when it was released. Maybe I am desensitized from too many horror and psychological thriller movies and books. Either way this book was meh leaning towards bleh.

For readers who think Stephen King only writes horror, here is a story of the heart and fate. No killer clowns, vampires or haunted hotels- just the story of an ordinary man thrust into an alternate life than the one he wanted. A story about choices, fate and love.
Though the events in the story are set against a mid sixties to seventies background the story is still tragically poignant.

This was an amazingly sad and charming story. However, it was not so much horror as it was thriller and suspense. I adored the symbolism behind it, as well as the Easter egg King hid within these pages (if you've read other novels by his you will be able to locate it). The Dead Zone is definitely worth a read.

I picked up this book after watching the movie The Dead Zone and this was the first Stephen King book I've read. All I can say is that this is great, not only the story but the way he put it in the book. The way he writes, the characters present in the story. Everything is impressively great! I have a very limited time and read this book in 3 days because I just couldn't stop it. This is one of those books that make you eager for the next chapter until you're done with it.

The book is really terrific!

This book draws you in and keeps you, intertwining the use of a peculiar gift afforded to the main character and his tragic relationship that is affected by that. It also explores the state and possible fate of America in a way that is almost as relevant now as when the book was published. Less spine-chilling than some King classics, but still a seriously great read.

Very easy and flowing read. I wish the story could've gone on forever; but now I have to contemplate which Stephen King book to download next. I can't wait to enter another world, another realm, with him again......

Along with Liseys Story, this is my personal favorite of Kings books. The supernatural element is supported by the powerful creation of a character real and love able enough to have a permanent place in my memory.
