The poor Liars never seem to catch a break, do they? This new ‘A’ is threatening them once again, telling them to find Ali’s real killer... or else. And oh my god, is Ian not dead? He said he was innocent, so...

And then we have Spencer who may or may not be adopted... yikes!

But I am so glad she found Olivia because her parents are being huge jerks! And then things take a turn for the worst... yeah, even worse than they already are.

Emily has a new boyfriend, yay! I was very happy that Em found Isaac, he is such a sweet guy! But could his family disapprove?

Aria has moved in with her dad and Meredith ‘cause of her mom’s creepy boyfriend. But Jason and Aria seem to have hit it off, so that’s great! Except, you guessed it, things start to look not so great! Things are suspected of Jason and it makes me sad ‘cause I really liked him! He was also very sweet!

And Hanna is still feuding with her evil stepsister Kate. She may have lost her boyfriend, but she now has her eyes set on none other than Aria’s little brother, Mike! This may seem like a weird relationship, trust me I thought so too at the start, but I just find it really amusing and I’m actually looking forward to seeing how things play out.

Killer ended with the biggest cliffhanger in the history of cliffhangers! It’s right up there Rick Riordan’s cliffhangers, which are killer (pun totally intended)! Can’t wait to see what will happen next!

The 6th Book in the Pretty Little Liars Series!

Killer has been my least favorite Pretty Little Liars novel so far. It seemed to have less twists and duller chapters than the previous five. Nothing really happens for the majority of the book. We all know the construction of the Pretty Little Liars books. There is some event that happened in sixth grade that comes up a thousand times in the course of the novel. In this case- it's the night the Liars tried to steal the flag from Ali. The ending was ‘killer’ though, if you get what I’m saying. Let's go through the characters and see what they've been up to.

Hanna: Hanna's plot line was the dullest for me. I've always been fond of Hanna. She's had a troubled past with both family and friends. In Killer, he dad forces Hanna to spend every waking moment with her stepsister Kate. Now let me tell you something. I hate Kate. She is one of the most deceitful and disgusting characters in the series. I think she is worse than Alison. Mostly, I just feel bad for Hanna. She has to deal with this nasty girl who holds a secret over her that could destroy her social status-which we all know is imperative to Hanna. She worked hard to obtain the "cool girl" status and will do anything to protect it, including ratting out one of Kate's secrets.
Hanna and Kate have a full blown duel over Aria's brother Mike-which I find strange. Hanna and Aria don't even discuss the matter of Mike. Through their battle of trying to win his affection, Kate admits that she never really did like Mike, and that she was tricking Hanna the whole time to see what she would do to try to steal him away from her. I wasn't expecting this little twist and honestly, I believe that Kate does have a level of affection for Mike. Or at least, I want to believe that. The Whole Mike/Kate/Hanna was a bit confusing. Who was being used? They used Mike and Mike used them. Toxic much?

Emily: Like Hanna, Emily didn't have much of a plot in this book. She seemed to be the only one trying to figure out the Jason/Jenna/Alison connection. I'm guessing this will be a pretty big clue in the murder once they figure it out...so shouldn’t all the
characters be trying harder? I mean come on, ladies.

Emily's story in this book is dealing with her first boyfriend since dating Maya. At this point, Emily's sexuality is a little sketchy. She is not sure if she is confused, or bisexual, or made a mistake about Maya and Alison. Regardless, Emily loves Isaac. I, however, do not. He was an okay boyfriend through the book, but when the whole issue of his mother being a total B-word to Emily, I hated him. I wish that Isaac would have considered that his mother was harassing Emily. He just brushed her
off and didn’t even listen to her. This mother is brutal. She made far too many sex jokes at the dinner table, which is just bad manners, like are we a teenage girl again? And cutting a head off of a picture is terrible. Where does this women get off? So again, I wind up feeling bad for Emily and her ever so confusing romantic life.

Aria: Oh, Aria. Where to begin. Here's my problem with Aria in Killer. Her relationship with Jason seemed unreasonable. Aria has been crushing on this boy for six years and all of a sudden, he finds her interesting. But what does he really want. A said that Jason had secrets, and I think he has a big one. Why is he so angry all the time? And what is his connection to the Radley? Was he a patient, or visitor? Aria is blind to Jason and his possible evil ways, but thank God Emily's not.

Spencer: Spencer had a rough going in Killer. Andrew convinces her to sign up on an adoption website to try to find birthparents. She gets a match! Spencer becomes obsessed with everything related to her mother-which-by the way, we have no proof if Olivia is even her real mother. Come on, Spence, get some bloodwork done before you screw up everything! I understand Spencer’s obsessive behavior towards Olivia, her parents practically hate her, and it's a lot to deal with. Especially with Ian and Melissa being all sneaky.
The worst part about the whole adoption situation is Spencer's college fund. She spends all the money on a fake apartment near Oliva's. The realtor was set up by A! I guess A did ward Spencer not to keep looking. I’m sure A doesn’t want any of the Liars to leave. She can't harass them if they are spread out, right? I’m excited for the next book to see more about Spencer's family situation. On the plus side, this distances herself from Andrew-who I don’t like very much. No reason...he's just not good enough for Spencer.

I absolutely loved the ending. All the Liars are conflicted about what to think about Jason and Wilden. They finally meet together and explain to each other what they know. Right now, it’s sketchy. We don’t know for sure what the relationships between Jason, Ali, Ian, and Wilden. I’m excited for some clarification in the next book. I think Wilden is an interesting character. He has major problems going on and I need to find out!
As I’ve said, I thought this book was a bit boring, but the ending was fast paced and had my heart racing. I still think that Ian is guilty and has something to do the killing. I don’t think Jason was the other blonde Alison was talking too. Did A have anything to do with the fire? Lately he/she has been helping the liars. I have so many questions! Must read next book.
And ALISON?
I'm also curious to see what the flag has to do with the story. Why did Alison lie about what she drew?
My biggest problem with this book was the lack of friendship between the Liars. That's why I reviewed it the way I did. They were not a cohesive group, and I missed that.Don't they know by now that they need each other to solve these problems? They barely even speak in the book. Aria and Emily talk, maybe once and that's it. I feel like their trust is fading. Spencer should’ve talked to the girls about Oliva and done some more research. Andrew was 100% right about Spencer diving into everything way to fast. It cost her her fortune!
As always, I love the writing of Sara Shepard. It's easy to read and is full of light, high school feelings. As a high school I can really relate to everything. There are moments where you want to roll your eyes, and moments where you gasp at the page with wide eyes.
I recommend this series to all ages. They're quick reads, with loveable characters. Sometimes the plots are slow-like in Killer-but you can count that they will start up quick again.

While it seemed like a fairly straightforward continuation of the series, it had moments that were a lot more interesting than I expected. The use of "A" wasn't done in a way that was as menacing but still helped with the flow of the story, and the different adventures the 4 girls dealt with were enough to keep my interest. Well, at least some of them were.

I still didn't care so much about Hanna's story as it mostly involves teen girl popularity politics (as a guy in his 20s, I can't relate), but the others were pretty good – especially Aria's story with Jason, and Emily's antics involving Isaac's mother. Spencer's sob story was obvious from the get go -- I called it, and the signs were all there as to what was going to happen.

I was ready to give it a 7/10 in my personal scoring system -- indicating I liked it but it didn't break any new ground. But then the final few chapters raised the stakes in a riveting maner. The way things all came together was familiar (happened in the previous books too) but here it was especially exciting because the suspects weren't throw-away characters like Toby -- I hate characters that are introduced, blamed, and tossed away.

The pacing picked up nicely at the end (as it usually does in the PLL series) and the ending? Colour me impressed. It was unexpected and cool, and bumped it up to a 7.5/10. I hope Shepard doesn't renege on how things are progressing with some silly ploy at the beginning of Heartless. I guess I'll have to read it to find out.

All in all, this carries forward a similar complaint, although it's not a big one: the first 80% of the book moves at a steady pace with only a few tidbits that are exciting/mysterious, and it's annoying because the girls don't seem to "clue in" as to what is in front of them, even if the reader wants more information. They experience the same crud over and over -- the same boy problems, the same social popularity issues, the same bad mistakes. Shepard strings things along a bit too delicately on the same conceits, and then the final 20% or so, things amp up in a way that makes me want to read the next book, and generally feel the same way all over again. It's not that the earlier parts are bad -- just repetitive. Also, some of it is silly, sometimes too convenient, and sometimes too perfectly framed. It's more of a 'suspension of disbelief' thing to accept that things happen as they do, just like how after the first 4 books, I had to just believe that the original A was always present at exactly the right spot to catch each girl doing their naughty deeds. I accept how the original A knew their earlier secrets, but it's hard to believe "A" could see it all, know it all, and be as omnipresent as indicated.

The same thing sort of hits true here -- in terms of the mystery, the way certain events unfold makes it feel a little too "planted". Details are held back in a way that (of course) sets things up for the next book, but it's almost like a movie that doesn't want to end. Maybe I'm just a skeptical reader, but if things feel too 'tidy' or are handled in a way that holds things back, it makes me feel a bit cheated as a reader -- like I'm getting only part of a story because Shepard wants to sell more books. She keeps pushing the same foibles for each girl, while putting the mystery on the back-burner to have Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily fall into the same patterns over and over.

Okay, that sounded overly critical. Whatever. I still enjoyed Killer. I was going to give it 3 stars but that final 20% pushed it up... but if things stop being about this ridiculous 80/20 split, I'm going to lose interest fast.

I think I'm just growing a bit frustrated by the way the series stretches things out -- I get the same way when a TV show takes 5 episodes longer to do its "big reveal" than necessary. There are TV shows where the characters don't learn their lesson week by week -- where they fall back into similar patterns as if the last episode didn't exist. That's what is happening here -- both in terms of their personal lives, and in terms of not quite figuring out the mystery. Shepard needs to work on that.

When I first saw the title of this book , I thought it might have played a huge part on Emily as the foursome and Ali's nickname for Emily was Killer - as in Ali's personal defender or as we read in the series -pitbull. Killer in a way was a very exciting read as we discovered the truth about Spencer's birth -though unfortunately it seems that Spencer is about to get duped as her so-called birth mother Olivia runs off with Spencer's money. Has "A" caused Spencer to lose everything she ever had and it seems that Ian Thomas may not be dead as Spencer begins to recieve IM's from Ian's IP Address. Aria has moved back into her father's house with Meredith after an awkward incident with her mother's new boyfriend Xavier and has got a new love interest in her life - Jason DiLaurentis - Ali's brother. However is "A" happy about this or does she plan to ruin and uncover Jason's past as it seems Jason and Officer Wilden were buddies in high school and hated Ian Thomas . Emily after deciding in Book #5 -Wicked that she wasn't a lesbian but more bisexual , has a new boyfriend Issac but will it last as it seems his mother is trying to stop Emily from corrupting her son , when Emily recieves threatning photos - is it the work of "A" or Mrs Colbert ? Hanna , still struggling with the fact that her mother up and left to Singapore and that she has to play happy families with Kate and Isabel - her father's new family . When Kate and Hanna decide to go for the same guy - Aria's little brother Mike Montgomery - who will win in the end ? Killer is also like the previous Pretty Little Liars books ends in a Cliffhanger - this one though is exciting as it ends with Spencer's barn going up in flames and the foursome finding a girl who looks eerily like Ali in the woods. What's going on in Killer ?

As usual, with the rest of the books, this is a wonderful read. The new A is more bold in their actions than the previous A. Not only that, this A isn't in the book as much as the old A. Instead there's a stalker that stalking the girls. Now, is the stalker A, or is the stalker something else that the girls have to deal with.

Emily - She is still coming to terms with her sexuality. She's the only character that I really feel sorry for and like them most. All of what happens to her, really isn't her fault, as is with the other girls. I feel that she's really the only innocent one of the bunch, and the most likable. She has to deal with someone she really cared about, and how they are acting now. Is this person, her friend still, or is the friendship over.

Aria - She has to deal with her mom's new boyfriend, and has new problems with him. Again, what she has to deal with is sort of her fault, but not all of it. She hasn't learned from her past. As the saying goes, if you don't learn from your past mistakes, you're doomed to repeat them. Aria also has a key to Allie's past, something that she hasn't told her friends about. She also has dealings with Allie's brother, and is could have horrible results.

Hanna - I do sort of feel sorry for her, but she's a victim of her own actions. She's wanting to be so popular, she can't see who really likes her, and who is setting her up for a big downfall. This shows how self centered she really like. She even says, "I"m Hanna, people have to like me." Also, she is locking horns with her stepsister, and she has no idea what's coming.

Spencer - She's heading down a tragic road. She's found out something about her past and her family that will change her life. She's so wanting a new family, that she's not stepping back and looking at the big picture. She's shunned people around her, that have her best interests at heart. She wants what she wants, and nobody will tell her different.

We also have the part about Ian. Where is he? Is he really guilty? What evidence does he have that will not only clear his name, but change the lives of the girls forever, and not in a good way.

The girls have to take a hard look at those around them. Some of the people they trusted, isn't acting in a trusting way. Could it be A getting closer? Also, is A working alone? Some secrets are uncovered about characters that makes myou question their actions.

That being said, there are sill a TON of questions that haven't been answered. A lot more that can't be addressed here. I don't want to give away any spoilers. Trust me, there's a lot that we don't know, and I can't wait to find out.

I just have to say, on how this book end.....OMG!!!!!!!!! Holy Frick!!! When I read the last sentence, my jaw hit the floor. Trust me, once you end this, you'll be running to get the next installment.

This series is such a page turner. I pretty much read one book in a sitting. This is such a great series. I can't say enough good things about it. Start it, you won't be sorry.

KILLER (#6 in the Pretty Little Liars series)
SARA SHEPARD
YA Mystery
HarperTeen

Rating: 5 Enchantments

KILLER, the latest installment of the Pretty Little Liars series, takes its readers on a rollercoaster of a read as the girls find Ian's body, but the moment they bring Wilden back to the scene, Ian's body is gone. Now the girls are being called liars by both the police and the press and no one believes a word they're saying. Even as the new `A' texts the girls, no one wants to believe that the girls are in any danger from anything but fear of being out of the spotlight. But are they crazy or is the newest `A' actually trying to help them solve the mystery this time? With a jaw dropping ending that almost seems impossible, fans of the series will delight in the newest addition to the series.

Pretty Little Liars is my favorite YA mystery series, hands down. KILLER is a fast paced, riveting read with characters that've grown over the course of the series and new secrets and scandals being revealed around every corner. As the girls discover and remember more about the night Ali died, the more things point towards Wilden as somehow being involved, but how and why? How can they possibly trust the man who seems to haunt all their memories?

Aria's struggling not only with moving into her father's new house with his expecting girlfriend as a mean's to get away from her mother's boyfriend, but also with the fact she keeps bumping into Ali's older brother, Jason. Is it her or is there something going on between them? Surely the rumors about Jason hurting Ali all those years ago were just that. Rumors. Spencer yet again feels the major outcast. Not only because of her possibly being adopted, but because she's the one who first found Ian's supposed body. When her family's home is vandalized because of it and her parents ostracizing her for it, Spencer decides to find out where it is she might belong and answers the e-mail from her possible birth mother. Hanna's forced friendship with her soon-to-be-evil-stepsister isn't working out like her father would hope. And after Hanna blurted out what she did about Kate in the last book, it seems Kate's out for revenge. But Hanna knows how to play that game too. Emily's dealing with her own relationship troubles, especially when her boyfriend's mother seems to hate her. When her boyfriend won't believe her, what's a girl to do, especially after finding a photo in their kitchen with her head cut out. That's not typical friendly mother behavior. What I loved best about KILLER was how the tension never seemed to let up where the mystery was involved and how everything led up to the big party at the new hotel, a place that ends up harboring a very big secret. As all the clues start to fall together, the girls find themselves in deeper danger then they could ever imagine. One of the best scenes in the book is when aria is lured out to Jason's apartment, only to almost be attacked by a dog. When she has no other choice, she's forced to break into the apartment, only to discover what may be the biggest clue yet.

I started reading the Pretty Little Liars series earlier this year. Each book ended with a cliff hanger and I couldn't wait to read what happened next with "A". I enjoyed these books so much, I read them consecutively. The only problem was I had to wait a few months for Killer's release.

Now that I finished Killer, I have to say I was worth the wait. It immediately began where Wicked concluded: the night of the Rosewood Day benefit held at Spencer's house. Spencer discovered Ian in the woods and when she later returned with the police, Ian was gone. He simply vanished. (I don't want to say more to prevent spoilers). While the police continue to search for Ian based on the details provided by Spencer, Aria, Hanna and Emily, they begin to wonder if these four girls fabricated their stories for attention.

Like the previous novels, Killer begins with a flashback. In this flashback the reader learns how the four girls became friends with Ali. Emily, Aria, Hanna and Spencer all have the idea of stealing Ali's piece of the Time Capsule flag. This is a tradition at Rosewood Day: the principal cuts the Rosewood Day flag into pieces, the upperclassmen hides the pieces around town, while the teachers post clues to their locations. When someone finds a piece, he/she can decorate it. When all the pieces are found, the flag is sewn back together and is buried in the Time Capsule. The students who find the pieces are known to be legends in the school's history. The twist to the game is another student can steal a piece from the original student who found it. Which is what Hanna, Emily, Aria and Spencer plan to do with Ali's piece.

This flashback is significant to the story. The reader learns what REALLY happened to Ali's stolen flag piece and why it's so important to her disappearance and death. As each girl continues to receive threatening texts from "A", they decide to investigate the events leading to Ali's death. As they dig deeper, they stumble on a new twist that will erase everything they knew about their friendship with Ali.

What makes this story so addicting to me is how the Ms. Shepard uses the girls' individual stories to add to the mystery behind Ali's death and "A's" hold on them. Each girl struggles with a secret, insecurity, problem, etc. "A" sends them text messages to manipulate them into doing what "A" wants by threatening to expose their secrets. Each girl discovers more clues about their friendship with Ali. The reader can't help but to wonder are these legitimate clues or just part of "A's" game? It's so hard to tell, but that's what keeps me reading. I WANT TO KNOW! The twists and turns are plenty in this series and just when the reader thinks he/she knows what will happen next, guess again.

Killer's ending took me by surprise! The cliff hanger was shocking and left me speechless. Of course, I had more questions and wondered did THAT just really happen or is this just another twist? Again, I must wait to have my questions answered. Heartless, book seven, will be released in 2010. Killer is a must read for fans of the Pretty Little Liars series.

Call me a fan! I have fallen even deeper into this series and with each book, I can't wait to find out more clues to eithe confirm or deny my guesses. I think I could be close, but really I have no clue and I love it.

The writing has been so addictive. It is easy to slip into the story after reading a book between and I found myself immersed in the hunt for A and the killer. With each book, I hope to be closer and then at the end I find myself no closer, yet no further away from the truth. As stated before, there is some repetitiveness to each book because as the story develops Shepard repeats clues from previous books, but it can be easily bypassed.

As I still haven't started watching the series, I am intrigued as to how close to the characters they follow and if the intricacies of the story are apparent on screen. Maybe a show I will check out soon, but I definitely want to complete my reading before I begin my viewing.

I think this series can be enjoyed by all ages as the mystery is the heart of the story. As they are high schoolers, the drama is obviously at that level, but I don't think the story is any lower due to their ages.

"...Killer, gets better. A is back and the creepy factor starts to come back, although never quite hits the mark. The story really goes back to alternating views and we really see the girls as their characters again. I start to remember all the things I enjoyed and envied about them previously and also, the habits they have that really drive me crazy. Like Spencer's horrendous family & Hanna's aggravating family. The poshness. Everything. It comes back in this book and I liked it.

Overall, I am glad I am back into the series and although, I don't think these books are as good as the original four; I cannot wait to continue reading them..."

There is something VERY rotten in the Philadelphia Main Line Suburb of Rosewood.

Dramatis Personae:

Alison DiLaurentis, 13, was a bright leader of a girls' clique. The members of said clique were more like satellites than actual friends as Alison's approval tended to give her peers a social leg up. She has been discovered murdered some 4 years after the summer she completed 7th grade in Rosewood Day, a private school on Philadephia's Main Line. She, along with her satellites drop designer names at the drop of a designer hat. Alison goes missing the summer before she starts 8th grade and is later discovered to have been murdered.

Spencer Hastings, along with the other satellites discovers she has good reason to want to dim the sun around which she revolves. She tends to sputter. In an earlier installment, readers learn that she has had a history of blackouts. Her older sister, Melissa, favored to the point of excess and indulgence treats her like dog droppings. After she comes clean about plagiarizing her older sister's economics paper, she is further ostracized by her own family. To make matters worse, her grandmother does not include her in her will. The old bag stipulated that only "natural born grandchildren" stood to inherit from her vast fortune. That raises the question - is Spencer adopted or is the old bag just as unloving as her son and daughter-in-law? Remember - Spencer did describe her as not being kid friendly in an early volume.

Aria Montgomery had been having an affair with her English teacher, Ezra Fitz. Her theme song is Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher." Back in town after a 3-year stay in Iceland, Aria reluctantly re-enters Rosewood Day School and the consequences of her father's infidelity. Aria's mother re-admits her into the house upon learning Aria knew about the affair even before the family left for Iceland. Her current boyfriend is someone named Xavier whom Aria meets at an art showing. Xavier hits on Aria and, much to her great chagrin is her own mother's online date! Xavier continues hitting on Aria, who moves in with her father and his pregnant fiancee, Meredith. Her brother Mike, some 2 years younger remains with their mother. Aria has a tendency to reach into her yak-fur bag, a security blanket she brought back from Iceland.

Emily Fields, a reknowned swimmer has finally become open about her sexual orientation. She has broken up with her partner, Maya, who is now living in the DeLaurentis house. In the previous installent readers learn along with Emily that she is bisexual. She meets a very kind boy named Isaac at a church social and in time enjoys a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship with Isaac.

Hanna - a former fat girl now a bulimic femme fatale has survived a lot. In an earlier installment, she was run over by a car; discovered what "fake friending" means and learns that popularity is as shifting as the shadows that stalk her and the other 3 girls. Her ulta-kind (or to use a word that crops up a lot in this book, "uber") boyfriend, Lucas stands by her side until she makes an accusation with devastating repercussions. Her own father all but ousts her from the family as well and his favoritism towards his stepdaughter to be, Kate is sickening. Kate is sneaky and conniving and Hanna has to be on high alert around her at all times. Kate puts the moves on Aria's brother, so Hanna decides that Mike is the ideal date for her.

In this book, the girls see a dead body in some neighboring woods. They believe he is Ian Thomas, one-time boyfriend of Melissa Hastings and the first boy Spencer bird-dogged. Ian Thomas was charged with Alison's murder, but was he really guilty? And is he really dead? And what became of the body found in the woods that was presumably Ian's?

The girls feel they can turn to no one but each other. Spencer has the worst of it as her own family steps up their emotional abuse. First, her car is taken without her knowledge and consent. To make matters worse, the woman she thinks of as her mother makes snide comments and tells her about "a wonderful new invention called the bus" and if she wants a car, she can go get a job and buy one. At that point, Spencer decides to seek out the woman who claims to be her natural mother. Is the woman called Olivia really who she says? Is Spencer really her child? And when the old bag made out her will, did she exclude Spencer because someone other than the two women on her list of possibilities is her natural mother?

Hanna and her stepsister Kate step up the bitchery and backbiting. Hanna's father appears to have replaced Hanna with Kate as a daughter and continues to rebuff Hanna and support smarmy Kate at all times.

Plot twists crop up and keep readers guessing. Aria seeks out Alison's brother and discovers that he, along with Officer Wilden whom readers ran across in the earlier volumes are high on the suspect list. Danger and mysteries interlock and readers are in a race to the final page - who is this mysterious A who has been stalking them by sending them texts and e-mails outlining their darkest secrets? And what, if any involvement do Alison's brother and the officer have in the set of mysteries?

Readers will be eager to read the next installment. Maybe a tad cliche, but still a guilty reading pleasure.

**Spoilers from previous books*

Killer is great at developing the girls' individual storylines but I felt like the mystery of Ali and A take a back seat for most of the book, which I didn't like. Another weird thing is a plotline involving Emily and her boyfriend's mother, it seemed like it was supposed to go somewhere but didn't.

One thing I liked about this book is Hanna's relationship with a younger guy (wait til you find out who!), it was pretty cute and just made me smile. Another interesting switch that happens in this book is the police and also the media start to doubt and also suspect the girls are telling the whole truth, could they possibly have a hand in this mystery? Since they really can't get the police to help them anymore, they sort of have to take matters into their own hands, and there are dangerous waters ahead.

So while not my favorite of the series, it's essential to move the plot forward and also get some more into each of the girls personalities.

KILLER is the sixth novel in the PRETTY LITTLE LIARS series.

The story starts off with the girls discovering what they believe to be the dead body of Ian Thomas, the accused killer of their childhood friend, Alison DiLaurentis. The girls hear a snap in the woods and quickly go for help. But by the time the cops show up to investigate, there is no evidence of a body. Nothing remains in the space where Ian was moments ago.

From this point on, the rest of the story is downhill for Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily. Soon, the girls are branded as liars and can no longer go to the cops for help. Besides, Detective Wilden is acting suspicious. The girls uncover a connection between the detective, Alison's brother, Jason, and Ian Thomas from high school. How deep is the connection, and could there be a cover-up of some kind?

Throughout all of the murder drama and hunt for Ali's killer, the girls struggle to move on with their lives. But just as with the police, there are complications.

Spencer is positive she's adopted and is determined to find her birth mother. Only, once again, Spencer is taken advantage of. Emily has a new boyfriend, but his mother obviously hates her. Hanna is in a battle of wits with her step-sister, Kate. They are fighting over Aria's younger brother, Mike, and Hanna is determined to win his heart. And a chance encounter with Jason DiLaurentis rekindles the crush Aria had on him when she was younger.

KILLER is one of those books that is setting up the reader for what is to come in future installments. There is a lot of stuff going on throughout the book, yet it seems that none of it gets resolved by the time the reader gets to the final page. It will keep the reader anxious for the next chapter and frustrated that the next book is not available yet.

The final note from the ever mysterious "A" at the end of the novel sums the book up nicely... "The questions are probably killing you..." and "It's enough to make anyone crazy." Need I say more???

Don't worry I'm not going to spoil anything...but I gotta say I'm not all that surprised with how this one ended. I sorta saw it coming...of course I haven't read the next book net, so who knows if things will be changed around again.

After the last book I wasn't too sure where this one was going. But it was pretty entertaining. It raises a LOT of new questions, especially at the end of it. It was almost confusing for a little while, but it all came together at the end. I gotta get my hands on the next one ASAP. Still curious how this is going to span a couple more books though.

My first reaction the end of this book was "WHAT?!". It amazes me how the author can pack such a punch. I have to say I really did not see this twist coming. A lot of clues have pointed to the twists and turns of the plot so far, but I can only think of one that may have indicated this turn of events. Needless to say, get to the end of this book!

In some cases this series may be having the same effect on me that a lot of TV shows do, the story is starting to get a little outlandish but I still want to know what the outcome finally is. Basically its a story I would Tivo and come back to later, not a show that I have to watch at the specific time is comes on.

Spencers story line touched my heart the most. To think that her "supposed" birth-mother is a con artist, gold digger who prays on young women looking for a family. I deeply hope her birth mother wasn't part of the scam and that she is her birth mother. Injustice to children is probably the #1 thing that bothers me, and makes me want to stand up and fight for these children, even if they are fictional.

All in all, I will continue to recommend this series to my friends and you :)

Okay, i loved the book. I liked the story for Emily (i thought the gay-thing was boring after a bit in the other books, so i liked the last two better) and Hanna (finally more interesting than the bulimia/criminal record thing). Spencer's (who buys real estate without checking it out first and then is surprised by being screwed over?) and Aria's (Jason? god, she was dumb) stories were a bit irritating, honestly. And the ending? Shocking, maybe, but i knew it was only a matter of time before that was used. I mean, that was a little dry as well as over-used in these kinds of books. I think it was a grasp to make it more interesting, and it didn't work for me. She should have been able to do a good job without resorting to that. (I personally don't think it's back from the dead for the character at the end. I'm leaning toward, like, twin or something no one knew about.Or freaky mass hallucination. [Wouldn't be surprising, these girls are seriously beginning to lose it.])

So yea, i really liked the overall story, but it could have been better. A is getting less interesting though, and these stupid girls keep alienating/ignoring the advice of/being bitches towards their boyfriends. Psh. But the author is good enough, and the storyline is rich enough, that the book was still great. I had my favorite parts. And i had my i-want-to-strangle-these-characters moments.

Buy it :) (btw, it says kid cuz i'm not over 13, i am 13. using a parent's account. but i don't want you to think i'm a 9-yr-old reviewing it.)

A much up turn for the 2nd half of the series. I thought Emily's gay think was getting boring in Wicked but has refueled its interest in Killer. Hanna interesting with her sister Kate rivalry for Mike, her criminal record. Not to mention the return of Hanna having Ali appearing to her in her dreams again like after the car coma. Spencer stealing real estate is only over shadowed when there is no record at the apartment house of her mother. Even Aria digging into her boyfriend's past is fantastic. There is a new A in town now that the old one is dead and this one's mystery messages are even more difficult to figure out than the original.

This series NEVER ends. Don't get me wrong, I love these books, but I am just ready to find out who the killer is, etc.

I thought this book would be the end, but no...

Other than the fact that the series now feels like it is just dragging on, this book was really good. Sara Shepard makes the series so complex, it makes you think. I love it. I love that there is a series about a murder, but it's also about upper class teenage girls. I like all the side plots and secrets the girls each have.

This book is by far the mist confusing of them all. Who is the new A? Is she on the liars side or not? Interesting questions to decipher. Don't know how I'm going to be able to wait until morning to read the next book! Addicted to the series. Love ha Sarah Shephard

I am in love with this series so I can't really say anything negative. However! I was sadly dissapointed after waiting a year to read the next installment and nothing of value happens.
Shepard adds new twists from characters but in reality it just seems like she doesn't know who the killer is nor how to end the book!

My daughter has absolutely been mesmerized by these books. She is able to use these for her reading requirements in school. This isn't her typical type of book she likes to read. She likes it because there is some mystery, a lot of unexpected things, and it keeps her guessing -- in other words -- holds her attention. She fights for reading time!

This series is truly amazing. Just when you think you have things figured out, WHAM! A new twist is revealed. I think I read this book in one sitting; that's how good it is. Another thriller from Sara Shepard. If you've not read the entire series, I strongly advise you to. Oh and the cliffhanger?! I think I literally gasped out loud.

This was one of the best books I've ever read. You can never guess what's coming next. Of course, don't try to read this book until you've read the rest of the series, you won't understand anything that's happening. I definitely recommend this series to any teen mystery lover.

This is by far the best book in the series. Sara Shepard knew excactly where to end the book, leaving everyone hanging, ready for whatever comes next. I finished this book in about 6 hours, and I can hardly wait for the next book!

wow. this is the most stunning and exciting and stunning one yet. sara shepard is truly a great writer and has out done herself. i absolutely love this series and love this book. one of the best in the series. romance and love heats up and dies down and the new A is heating it up with mystery, suspence, hints, and questions that keep you wanting more. but at the end of this book you ask and wonder, does Sara Shepard know how to and this book? Or will she keep trowing shockin and full of action at us. i give this 2 thumbs up ad recommend this for everyone.

Bad words, worse values, sex, lying, girls fighting over boys, drugs, alcohol, and brand names permeating nearly every sentence. Not only does the book "Killer" convey countless bad messages, it is horribly written! The titles of the series and this book gave me sufficient warning about the quality, but I had to find out for myself, so I read the whole thing (a painful process).
Please RateBook 6), Killer (Pretty Little Liars
