This is probably my favorite of the original four (yeah I know it was originally a triology but by the time I got to it in 1997 there were four books). I can't believe I have never reviewed this till now.

I really enjoyed this series and each book just keeps getting better and better. I love the whole love triangle of two vampire brothers and the beautiful young girl torn between them!

It inspired me to write a vampire novel myself, THE DARKEST HOUR about a love triangle between a human, a vampire, and a beautiful young woman.

Did you really think Elena would choose Damon? Well read and find out how much better this whole love story bacomes, and who the other power is. And just wait for the tramtic ending. You would hae never guessed.

though it has been over seven years since i first read the vampire diary series, the fury stands out as the most heart breaking and poignant of the books. The author did a masterful job of keeping the reader in suspense of the final outcome in the struggle between good and evil. Yhe author also does a wonderful job with the characters and the situations she has created, endearing the most unlikable character to the reader and creating such an atmosphere that the reader at one moment may cry then laugh at another

This book is filled with action, vampires, and romance. this love triangle [elena, stephan, damon] can have a little problems with brother to brother, if you know what i mean. it's like deja'vu to both stephan and damon. who will elena choose the good boy or the bad boy. good who knows how to control himself. or the bad that just goes with the flow, when he's around girls. read the book to find out.

This is one of the best "conclusions" (I put this in quotes because there IS a Vampire Diaries #4, but this was the conclusion at the time) that I have ever read and I've read a lot of books. The character of Damon was the most defined in this book; now, if I could only find a copy. . .

evil as cold as ice is controlling the inhabitants of Fells Church. no one can escape it's pain and loss. Elena is trying to adjust and the others are learning to but none of them are in any way prepared for what hits them.

the story here moved better. there was more of it, more depth of character, dialogue, thought. it's pleasing to see the way this has moved along.

Kept my interest throughout the book. I just love vampires that have morals, kindness, and sucking all your blood. I have read the entire series and, apart from trying to keep the characters and their sub-plots straight, especially after the main characters entered the underwold, I found it easy to sit and read for hours at a time.
