I've always loved Winnie the Pooh, ...so I browsed around in the book store and ran across this book. When I opened it, I couldn't put it down. Who would have ever thought that inside a sweet children's story could be so much depth? Benjamin Hoff is a genious. He takes me down a river of patient thought. You'll love this, no matter where you are in life. A "have to read it at least once" book.

I found this book to be very helpful in explaining "The Way". Among other things it gives an excellent and simple understanding of the three teachings of China. The three masters written about were Confucius, Buddha and Lao-tse, author of the oldest existing book of Taoism. The author uses the characters out of Winnie-the-Pooh to demonstrate the three teachings with the emphasis on Taoism which may produce the best opportunity to achieve harmony with all life while honoring all life. It is a hidden introduction to the ECK, the LIght and Sound of God.

A decent philosophy book that teaches principles of Taoism by making examples of Winnie the Pooh characters. It seems a little heavy on drawing contrasts between philosophies which was a bit distracting. Anyway, it was a nice easy read at a cheap price

Skims the surface of taoism, some of the descriptions and explanations of taoist concepts are good, many are vague. The winnie the pooh analogies often don't seem to fit the points and it feels forced ( very un-taoist ). Still there are some good basic introductions to the concepts of 'inner nature', 'the uncarved block', wu wei, and etc. If you're new to these concepts are have forgotten them, this is a good place to begin. As we know we must begin at the beginning, and a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.

I loved this book. A fun and insightful read about personality types as depicted by the characters in Winnie the Pooh books. The used copy I purchased was in great shape. Sad to say, I think I am more like Rabbit than Pooh, but certainly trying to evolve into seeing the world more as Pooh does for a happier life.

Back when I wanted to learn more about Taoism and was struggling to learn about its concepts, I came across this book. The use of Pooh and his adventures turned out to be an effective way to learn the principles of Taoism. I was at an age when I questioned and challenged everything that seemed wrong in my life. It certainly has helped me to find my inner peace.
