I have read this series before and decided it needed re-reading...so I am puchasing used copies from Goodwill agencies via the store to re-read and have to re-read again in 7 years when I have forgotten the plots! the one advantage to aging is being able to re-read books because you have forgot the plots!

Preston and Child are uniquely adept in writing a superb mix of history, mysticism, suspense, science and compelling characters. Reliquary is a fantastic follow up to Relic, the Mbwun Beast thriller also starring Margo Green and Agent Pendergast.

The authors of RELIC brings another spine tingling page turner to their readers. The same cast of interesting, and we'll fleshed out, characters are all present and joined by Sergeant Hayward, a smart and welcome addition. Don't be surprised if you find yourself reading well into the night.
The Monster of Florence :: The Extraordinary Journey of John L. Stephens and Frederick Catherwood :: The Collapse and Revival of American Community - Bowling Alone :: An Appreciation, Brief Edition- Standalone book :: Tyrannosaur Canyon (Wyman Ford Series)

Pendergast, the amazing character in some of Preston and Child's novels is great to follow with each new book. The audio CD versions of the novels are a great way to revisit the novels and the characters in those books while driving on long distance trips or just around town. Excellent stuff.

I just recently started reading Preston and Child books. In the last 2 weeks I have read the Relic, Reliquary, Cabinet of Curiosities, and Still Life with Crows. These really are great books and during down times at work and when relaxing at home really keep your mind going. I highly suggest reading these.

Excellent. As satisfying as the last 2 times. The extraordinary research and accurate science and history are rarely paralleled. Intelligent and engaging as the people who read and enjoy this book. l have no idea what other people read, but as Oscar Wilde said " I have the simplest of taste. I am always satisfied with the best".

This is the second Pendergast story and the sequal to Relic. If you like a good mystery suspense story you will love this story. Lots of twists and turns and a great story. I would highly reccommend it. You will find yourself wanting more.

Pendergast as a super cop works. Pendergast as a super- hero becomes cartoonish and unbelievable. I have read many of Mr. Prestons books and I have enjoyed them all. I just don't agree with the direction he is going with the Pendergast character.

Douglas and Lincoln are masters in creating a story and Character (Pendergast), who carry's you step by step into a chilling, Sherlock Homesian thriller with action, suspense, humor, all the essense of a not to be forgotten reading experience.

Where Relic leaves off Reliquary takes over. If scary novels bother you I would not suggest this book as bedtime reading. But, if you enjoy a great story which you can't put down, Reliquary is right up your alley. Enjoy.

Love the books and Special Agent Pendergast.
No matter whether they are predictable or not....a little too far out there or not.. he is just a great fictional character.
The second in the series - if you are just starting keep reading.
Hard to top Relic though!!

Pendergast is the most intriguing character in these novels. As always, Preston and Child surprise and delight with the character and his plethora of devises, cunning and intelligence. Will read anything that has Agent Pendergast in it.

A necessary evil. This sets the stage for the rest of the Pendergast novels. A huge amount of time and pages are wasted describing every inch of the sewers, each ladder, drop of water, smell, rust, turn, darkness on and on and on.

The story is not a rehashing of everything Relic. The story is new and fresh with the same familiar characters. However, points in the story seem a bit slow and I found myself board. Other parts of the story are extremely page turning. I would recommend reading it if you like thrillers.
