What an incredible start to a series. I pre-ordered this book and intended to begin it when I woke up. However, it hit my kindle at midnight release day and I made the mistake of starting. Could not put it down - read straight through. The story grabbed me right from the start. The characters were interesting and fun. No spoilers in this one -sorry. The writing was excellent. I am looking forward to the next book.

Doting Daddy's a State Senator and 'perfect' daughter Jordan's the apple of his eye, in this Wizard of Oz with a twist mix of urban and epic fantasy, that starts in Virginia and ends up with Jordan in Oriceran, after passing through a portal in a locket that once belonged to Jordan's missing mother, whom she's never given up hope of finding again one day.

Along the way, Jordan's helped by Sol and later Toth, winged beings who are among the least peculiar of some of the other creatures and events that befall Jordan on her quest.
Can she ever get back to Virginia? What happens to her in the city on Oriceran? Who are her enemies?
You'll become totally immersed in this novel which is book 1 in the Revelations of Oriceran/The Kacy Chronicles series by the wonderful Martha Carr, A L Knorr and Michael Anderle, (despite the sudden small cliff-hanger ending) and look forward - as I do - to the next books in the near future.
Definitely one for the bookshelves of fans of supernatural alien/human romances and epic urban fantasy stories. Enjoy the series from the start and tell all your friends too - they'll thank you for it!

While not normally a fan of fantasy stories, I gave this one a try because of the Orcerian world introduced by Martha Carr. I wondered what aspect of the story would relate to the universe......I was surprised to find myself invested in the story spun by the author. Initially I was not that interested in a poor little rich girl whose mother had disappeared, but after she fell through the looking glass, so to speak, she began to become a person, not just some two dimensional character walking through a stylistic countryside, bumping into mythical monsters and slaying them with a wave of her hand or blink of an eye...Jordan became a realistic person, sometimes stumbling and recovering and yet displaying a resilience that was both realistic and admirable...I will buy the next book, and I urge you to get this one and begin an amazing journey with Jordan and her new friends. I finished it in one reading.

Thank you Abs, Martha was right, you are bringing fun and joy to your writing. This is a fun series to read, and you both are officially on my list of "Authors Who Kept Me Up All Night" along with all the Kurtherian Gambit Gang. Keep the fun flowing!

I was truly captured by this authors words as they created a movie in my mind. Sometimes l'd go back and re-read a scene just to make sure l had it right.
So much detail, l could even feel the lush green grass in the yard behind the house and see the Oaks thick limbs. Then the story opens to a whole world ......you will have to read it to find out

Great story. Jordan is fabulous. Sol and Toth are an enjoyable pair of male, winged warriors: one's wings feathered and the other's skin. While much of the story centers around action, Jordan's character brings a significant amount of humor as well. I look forward to the following stories.

A wonderfully written piece of fantasy. Loved reading this book and had great difficulty putting it down. A very nice start to this series. Can't wait to read the next book.

I received a complimentary copy of the book but my review is completely voluntary.

I love this world! The beginning was a little slow and trite but the story more than makes up for it. I look forward to seeing what happens next. The characters are full and the action is cool. Magic!

I loved the storyline....the idea of going through a portal and ending up in an alternate universe is a dream! The only thing that really upset me was the way this this abruptly ends. I look forward to reading the rest of this series!

I enjoyed the story, however the conversations could have been written better. When two people are talking there should be no need to repeatedly write. Said Jordan, said Sol, said Jordan, said Sol other then that, great start of a series, I await the second book.
