Positive self-talk is one of those things that is free! All you have to do is notice when you are having those negative thoughts, and then think about what it is that you want instead. Doesn't that sound simple? Well it isn't if you are used to constantly telling yourself things that work against you. Shad Helmstetter will help you stop those negative, self-defeating thoughts and teach you what to do instead in this quick read! I think everyone should read this book because most of us are our own worst enemies when it comes to thinking that we cannot accomplish our dreams. I feel so fortunate to have this book in my library. I have leared so much from Shad Helmstetter!!! Pick up this book today and learn how you can change your thoughts to change your destiny!!

The best book on affirmations i have been able to find. If you want to do affirmations, only want to buy 1 easy to read and follow book - this is it.
If you have more time you may want to also read The Power of the Subconscious Mind, a bit older but very good too.

Even a dedicated self-affirmer can benefit by reading this book. Highly readable, excellent examples and solid action plans for establishing new self-talk habits. I expect to revisit this text as a "refresher course" from time to time and am recommending it to friends who are feeling "stuck" in their circumstances.

Excellent work; looking forward to reading some of his other works.
It is amazing how many topics Dr. Helmstetter spoke to which I either experienced personally or helped coach others through. On your way to becoming a truly limitless person, take this book along with you!

This book has given me a different perspective on life and has opened my eyes to see that I am my greatest enemy. I definitely will be assessing how I talk to myself going forward and put my selftalks in place. Thank you Dr. Shad for these great words!

I read the book many years ago and have practiced the principles daily since. Decided to reread the book again recently and enjoyed it thoroughly. Came up with some new, relevant self talk statements to fit my current life circumstances. I would, and do, recommend this book to everyone and anyone.

I have read this book several times yet each time I learn something new. My own "old tapes" have been replaced with "new quality tapes" which serve me well in all walks of life.... emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually. This self help book is a treasure to me.

This is a deceptively simple book that posits that our subconscious mind is a computer that will execute whatever program that it is given. The book then teaches principles by which the reader can change his or her infernal programming. Drawing on cognitive psychology, the hook is both helpful and current.

I am personal development book junkie! I can't get enough of reading anything that relates to self-help. This book did not disappoint. It was recommended by a business mentor of mine. Our words are so powerful. I have to constantly stop and remind myself of that daily.

Eliminate negative self talk by replacing it with thoughts that launch you into your destiny! Get an understanding of why you haven't been able to achieve what you know you can and learn techniques to overcome it. It's an easy read, what's challenging is committing to the process until you see your goals manifest. Wish I'd known of this long time ago.

This book must be the foundation by which all self improvement must be built. This gives practical guidance and clear direction as to what to do. You must be willing to believe that you talk to yourself everyday and that most of what you say to yourself is harmful to you, your goals and your dreams. I fought against this for a couple of years, but now I believe and put into practice the concepts of this book. I recommend this to anyone humble enough to believe they can always improve themselves. Here is another tool to do so...

A very well written book with practical examples in a well written, thought-out process. If it has not been done already, it should be updated to illistrate modern tools and resources (seeing references to "tape recorders" gave me the chills). Great book and very much worth reading.

EXCELLENT !! EXCELLENT !! EXCELLENT !! I remember Jim Rohn making a statement in one of his lecture's where he said "Who has you talked into what your doing". This book really helped to shed light on the subject of where do we get our information from.

Life changing book. I definitely pay more attention to what I say to myself to bring out my full potential but he says the same thing over and over again and tries to sell you his $200 self talk product half the book which is why I didn't give it 5 stars but I would definitely recommend this book.

Whatever book you're reading now, stop reading it and READ THIS BOOK FIRST. I have been involved with one of the best businesses in the world and part of what makes this business great is their partner company that does all the mentorship programs. They make me not only a better businessman but it a better person...... overall as well. Through them, I learned about Dr. Shad Helmstetter's book. This book "What To Say When You Talk To Yourself" is definitely a LIFE-CHANGER. I started to notice the changes right away as I was reading this book. I have ALOT OF BOOKS in my library but this is the first book that I have finished from cover to cover. That speaks volumes...... as I always had a problem with procrastination.... (as well as other problems of being disorganized, having low self-esteem/confidence, being too negative and too hard with myself). But Thank GOD I found this book, I know for a fact I will get better (or what this book recommends saying "I AM getting better" because now, I know where to start. All of us need to start with the right mindset. It's funny that I've always told my son that famous quote "WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character, IT BECOMES YOUR DESTINY." Whatever book you're reading now, especially if you're like me who likes to buy self-improvement books and never get to finish or implement them, STOP AND READ THIS BOOK FIRST. Change your thoughts, change your destiny!!!! (Thank you to one of the best mentorship programs in the world, Britt Worldwide for recommending this book and thank you so much, Dr. Helmstetter for writing this life-changing book.)

There was so much good information, some I didn't know I was already using. It did make me more aware of negative talk... We all seem to do it more than we think. I didn't like how it ended and wished it gave more of examples of positive talk or it should've ended when it gave the steps of creating positive statements. Everyone wanting to see what's holding them back, should read this book.

This book is a goldmine. Better, this book is priceless. It is accessible and digestible. Changing your self-talk will change your life, but here is the key difference: once your mind is restored, your life follows your mind's lead. There is no forced change, or external motivation in this book. In fact, it will teach you to be your own greatest motivator. Give it a read, and give yourself an internal make-over.
