Chemistry: A Molecular Approach (4th Edition)

I expected it to come damaged or ratty; after all, it is a rented college book. However, it blew expectations completely out of the water. The book was almost completely clean, with nearly no markings inside the book. No water damage, no mold, no ripped or torn pages. Two thumbs up.

As someone who has always done poorly in Chemistry, I was hoping this book would start from square one to help me out in my intro Chem class. Alas, I was disappointed, and this book assumed a lot from its student readers, which made a hard class much harder.

This book was used for my general chemistry course. The book does a good job of explaining concepts and giving examples of recently discussed concepts with great illustrations. Sometimes the questions in the chapter review section are much harder than the examples in the chapter, so they require a bit of thinking.

It was in perfect condition, arrived quickly, and came with the MasteringChemistry card.
This was much cheaper than buying it at the bookstore because this does not come with the Student Solutions Manual (which I didn't need).

The content of the book is great but literally every page was stuck together in increments of 4-6 pages. So some of the pages ripped while trying to get them unstuck. Took about an hour to unstick every single page trying to ensure the other pages do not rip.

When I got the book, the spine was basically ripped. I have to be so careful when I'm using it because the book can literally fall apart. I can't put it on my seat while I drive even or it'll rip apart. I rented the book, they better not charge me when i return it because thats how i got the book

For those of you wondering whether or not this is a chemistry book. I can assure you, it is a chemistry book and functions like any other book filled with awful things. Buy this and have nightmares of carbon bonds attacking you. Forget about having a good nights rest after this book.

This text definitely beats the Zumdahl book, Chang Book and many other texts. It makes the material decently easy to understand. There are a few points in every chapter that can befuddle -- I suggest getting another text to supplement.

It is quite useful and informative. Good for a Chemistry class textbook. Typical university intro to chemistry class textbook. I don't have any experience with other text books but I like it. The textbook is a little too detailed and provides excess information but with many colorful images. Not really much on examples or how to apply the equations in the book to help with the mastering chemistry. The mastering chemistry taught a lot more and great practice, sadly with each mistake points were taken off and it was VERY particular. How useful it the Mastering is, depends on your professor and what she bases off of. Mine had her own problems and wording and used the book as additional information from what was taught in class. Useful to some extent for studying then, I guess.
Shipping was fast. And at a reasonable price compared to most university bookstores.

Books are expensive. They're probably part of a racket publishers are running. They change editions every year and shuffle a few words around. I saved HUNDREDS buying books like this on the store. The best part is that it was good for two Chemistry sections

Majoring in Biochemistry. This book has been my main source for learning chemistry, even though university uses another text. Sample problems worked are worked in minute detail, leaving out nothing on approach and solution. Molecular illustrations really help understand the why's of chemistry, thus greatly reinforcing learning process. This book's explanations of thermodynamics helped me do well on ACS test and ultimately raise my letter grade up one letter. I have three chemistry texts that I used and this one was by far the best. Wish all texts were written this way.

Absolutely do not buy!!! It advertises how it comes with an access code and ebook when it did not. I was extremely disappointed when I got this in the mail since I needed it for assignments. Do not buy or rent (you can not rent access codes anyways) it is falsely advertised.
