Brittany Lucas tries to recover from a disappointment in her personal life and her father's reaction to the incident. She flees to a ranch that borders to the Rocky Mountains National Park, where she starts training a wild mare. One night, on her way home, she is surprised by bad weather and decides to camp outdoors. All of a sudden she spots a man who searches her belongings. Is he the poacher she has heard rumors about? Ranger Joel Morgan currently investigates poaching incidents that take place in the National Park. During one of his patrols in the National Park he comes across a young camper who shouldn't be in the Park. Maybe this is the poacher he is hunting? Soon Brittany and Joel find out that they were both wrong with their assumptions. But who is the poacher? And what are they going to do about the attraction they feel for each other? Especially since Brittany is only temporarily on the ranch and Joel will leave the National Park after this case.

There was some back and forth between the main characters before they figured out how to react to the pull they fell for each other. Usually this isn't my favorite concept for the start of a romance, but I have to admit that this wasn't done too badly. Brittany seemed to be a likeable heroine. However, I expected some kind of show down with her father, especially because he and their relationship where more than once mentioned.

Joel was a more complex character. Again, reference was made several times to his bad relationship with his mother and girlfriend and I would have appreciated some kind of closure before he moved on to the relationship with Brittany.

The story line was straight forward and simple. Don't expect any twists or turns. To create suspension, the author introduced many subcharacters who acted as potential villains. Not a bad idea but sometimes this created more confusion than suspense.

Generally speaking this was a nice, simple and unproblematic read that lead to a rewarding happy end.

This was a romantic story with lots of action. Poachers in our National Parks was amazing. To know hoe hard they work to protect animals and people. BRITTANY and JOEL'S romance is something I want to follow.

I like the way this writer writes. The characters are likeable and even though there is romance it leaves a lot to the imagination, not smutty. The story kept me interested. Will enjoy reading more of her books.

I really enjoyed this story. The book has the right amount of villain, suspense, romantic vive, a bit of macho bossing around of a strong women. A happy ending with the villain defeated and man and women wake up to love.
