A typical Maisie Dobbs mystery, which I thoroughly enjoy. This one was a little more difficult to follow, but she does a great job of making you feel part of that period of time. The characters are well developed and the plot moves successfully. I would recommend this book for historical novel and mystery combined.

I VERY MUCH ENJOY READING THIS SERIES. NOT ONLY IS THE STORY INTERESTING BUT WE ALSO GET A GLIMPSE INTO HISTORY IN A WAY THAT IS NOT DRY. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK BUT WOULD ADD THAT A READER SHOULD START AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SERIES WITH "MAISIE DOBBS".

I love the Maisie Dobbs Novels! I always learn something, and they hold my interest from beginning to end. I'm just dreading running out of new ones to read. Hopefully there's more coming from this author.

From the very first Maisie Dobbs mystery, I have thoroughly enjoyed them. This may have been my favorite, though. Having always been fascinated by maps, I think I was intrigued by the title. However, the characters in the story, the relationships Maisie has with the recurring characters as well as the new ones, the development of the plot kept my attention long after the title.

I read all of the Maisie Dobbs books by Winspear. This book is better than the previous ones, as we see Maisie grow and learn more. It is about human relationships and their power over all of us. In addition, of course there is the mystery! The mystery has several disconnects, and I plan to reread the book to see if there is any more information than I saw in the first reading. First Rate!

I'm happy to say that Jacqueline Winspear's latest Maisie Dobbs novel does not disappoint. The murder investigation is exciting and keeps the reader guessing. But the continued character development and the unfolding of the lives of the central characters makes Ms. Winspear's work truly exceptional. I can't wait for the next installment!

Once again, Jacqueline Winspear has taken Masie Dobbs to a deeper level. I've been reading the series since this past summer, and have devoured all of them at least once!
I miss living with Maise in London and taking the journey of discovery to unravel the mystery. This one I could not figure out who done it.

Her characters are well developed and their humanity a link to the readers own feelings. There are many philosophical themes that are so relevant to the human condition. Wonderful historic information. Heart warming. Got to love the characters!!!!!

The book kept my interest and I looked forward to picking it up when time allowed. I enjoyed the story, however every once in awhile there is to much details about nothing pertaining to the story. Even thou these books are fiction, it has given me more site of what happened back in the early 1900's. When you compare todays women with those back then, it is amazing how far we have come.

This was a continued excellent mystery by Winspeare of Maisie Dobbs. Historical, suspense in every chapter, a great inside view of
the English gentry living vs the poor and struggling people which included returned soldiers from WWI in the 1930's.
This and the other eight books in the Maisie Dobbs series in my opinion are as great a read as the Agatha Christie mysteries.
