WOW WOW WOW, this book keeps getting better and better! The first was really good but this one blow my mind. From page one till the last one was awesome, a book that you can't put down till you finish it. And I love even more Alexis cuz she's not weak like the usual women in the books, I like that she fights for what's right, Tristan!! I love that guy. Can wait to read the next one I know that it will awesome!

When I got this book I wasn't expecting anything. It was free and I was looking for seething to kill the on the bus. I finished the book in a day. I couldn't put it down. After I finished the first book I found myself back at the kindle store purchasing the series. I can't wait for the next book.

With a great cast of characters existing in a well wrought world, this is a series that is hard to put down. This one was slow in a couple of places, but necessary from a character building perspective. I really thought the first was more young adult (which was fine), but this straddles the line beautifully. An all around great read!

Purpose started off for me just tearing me apart. Its Many years later from where Promise Left off. Alexis is truly living my worse nightmare. Though her hope gave me Hope so I kept flipping through the pages. Needing to know Good Always Wins. This was just as great as the first. Leaving me with wonder, and awe.

This whole series is phenomenal. Make sure you start at the first one and go through. Alexis and Tristan and fully developed characters that sometimes frustrate you, but always intrigue you. You'll love Kristie's writing, and her ability to surprise you throughout the series. Highly recommend!

The book had me hooked from beginning to end. It's a book you want to stay up all day and night to read and ignore the outside world for. Just when you think the book will slow down, bam, you get more action thrown in your face. The characters are well developed to the point that you feel their pain and struggles. I love this series, it's wonderful.

AWFUL AWFUL BOOK! I thought Promise was so much better than this mess. Oh yes, it was most definitely a hot mess. I did not even finish the whole book I was so disgusted and just wanted to pull my hair out everytime Alexis and Tristan talked.. Ugh!
I wasted $4.00 on this trash and did not even understand its "purpose".
So Alexis is a 27 year old woman who has a 6 year old son that she completely neglects because she misses her "sweet" Tristan. This girl is wallowing in self-pity for SEVEN years! The first 25-30% of the book is about Alexis crying herself to sleep each night, talking to her other "selves" and mouthing off to her mother who is pretty much raising her child because she just can't be "bothered" with him. She actually teaches her child to be violent when kids at school talk about his "absent" father. UMMM well, he is ABSENT! No one knows where he is and he suddenly appears out of thin air. (WHAT?!) Where did he even come from? Couldn't Kristi have gone more indepth about Tristan's whereabouts? Anyway, back to my ranting, the other 25% of the book is about Alexis being a dumb stupid bitch and going out to get herself caught by Daemoni because she just cannot live without Tristan any longer (umm hello? she was without him for SEVEN years). This girl does not take the time to think about what her stupidity will do her child, she just acts. HMMM. Then Tristan returns after seven years and we find out that he had been watching her for a week without her knowledge (CREEPY). Then they have sex and more sex and more sex for another big portion of the book and THEN they talk about their child (WTF?! REALLY?!) who does this?! The first thing they should have done was talk and find out what had happened and then get their son. These two idiots should not have had a child, poor kid is hardly mentioned in this book, the sex goes more indebth than he does...sad.. The sex scenes are too much like Twilight sex scenes (Bella and Edward...Edward breaking things and leaving bruises on Bella) (Tristan and Alexis mating like a bunch of rabbits and breaking furniture and bruising each other). Alexis is a clingy and whiney character and I did not care for her at all, and Tristan is a weird and creepy stalker who does not grasp the role of fatherhood. I really liked Owen, the only character I can stand.
I just cannot bring myself to read this book without getting pissed off. Kristi, nice try but it just did not work for me. Did I read the wrong book? A lot of reviews said it was good but well, no it was not.

After seven years of having your soul mate taken from you, what is a girl to do...
Alexis has spent the last seven years without Tristan. She has been in a downward spiral since Tristan was taken from her. The only things she has in her life is her family, her mom, son and grandmother, and her writing. She has mood swings and is having a hard time figuring out if she is dreaming or if things are a reality.
She is encouraged by her family to keep writing her latest book. However, she thinks she imagined being threatened by a vampire that reminds her a lot of the character in her book. She needs time to be alone. She needs Tristan!
With the Ang'dora fast approaching, Alexis has a choice to make. Which Alexis will come out Good or Evil? Once her transformation and receiving of her full powers is complete, some long awaited answers are finally given to her.
This book answered a lot of questions left over from the first book. I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

The more I read of this series the more I love it. Even though not much was explained of Alexis' history in book one more is brought to light in the second instalment.
Alexis struggled after Tristan's absence believing he wasn't dead when everyone else believed he was. Not only that but to discover she only had a son when the Amadis needs a daughter put even more weight on her shoulders. Between her depression and multiple personalities she is ever changing but there is more to it than that.
When Tristan finally returns things start to take effect in their lives with the daemoni. Now more then ever they want Tristan and Alexis and have been making their lives even harder to start over after Tristan coming home.
I can't wait for more to this story. It gripped me and pulled at my heart from the beginning and I know there is so much more to come.

Grief is a powerful feeling and mixed that with your body changing and it can be explosive. True love conquers all and in this series so far it truly proves it with time and distance to together again. Alexis is just going through the motions for the 7 years that she feels part of her soul and heart is missing, raising her little boy and writing her books. She feels as though she is losing her mind with the things she keeps seeing in her dreams and awake. She is feeling like she can't distinguish real from fantasy even when she starts catching glimpses of her one true love Tristan. Stranger things start happening and quite a few things come to light and more secrets are kept until finally everything changes. Kristie Cook has done an excellent job so far keeping me in her world and not letting go. I can't wait to read more from this series.

Purpose is even better than the book that came before it! If I could give this book an infinite rating, I would. In Promise, Kristie Cook showed us the joy and happiness of first and true love. But in Purpose, she shows us the opposite; the heartache and despair left behind when that love and hope is taken away.
It's been seven years since the Daemoni attack that took Tristan away from Alexis. It's unknown whether he's alive or dead. The only things keeping Alexis from plunging head-first into darkness are her son Dorian, her writing, and the thin ray of hope that Tristan is still alive; but that hope is dwindling.
When the Daemoni threaten to take away the only things left in her life that are keeping her going, Alexis travels to the one place she believes still holds a strong connection to her lost love. With the Ang'dora fast approaching, the battle of good versus evil not only against the Daemoni but within her own mind, and a battle against the one opponent she could never kill, Alexis will have to find the strength to save herself and those she loves.
As I said in my review for Promise, I love how Kristie makes her characters so real, but it's the emotion of the characters and the story that stands out the most. I don't think I've ever read a book or series that made me feel as much as this one does. The emotion rolls right off the pages and wash over you. There is no way you could feel nothing while reading this book.
In Purpose, Alexis is lost in the despair and heartache of Tristan's absence. Hanging on the edge of sanity, her mind has fractured to help cope with the loss: there's Almost Alexis who is close but not quite Real Alexis, Foggy Alexis who keeps her in a state of numbness, Swirly Alexis who mixes fact and fiction, Psycho Alexis who lashes out at the slightest provocation, and then there's Evil Alexis who is her own Daemoni side whispering evil in her ear. If not for Dorian and her writing, she would surely have given up hope. But now with the added threat of the Daemoni, as well as the Amadis, threatening to take that hope away permanently, Alexis is more determined than ever to hang on no matter what. So she travels to Florida where the beach house Tristan built her is located, hoping that their happy memories will help strengthen her resolve. While there she makes an unexpected and unbelievable discovery, comes into her powers as the goes through the Ang'dora, and once again has to battle the Daemoni.
Her son, Dorian, is such an adorably sweet little boy. Already coming into his father's warrior strength, and possessing his mother's fierce protectiveness, Dorian is wise beyond his six years of age. He also holds Alexis' great capacity to love. Having never met Tristan, and because of Alexis making sure that Dorian knows who his father is and that he is loved by Tristan, Dorian is able to love and miss this father. That love causes him to get into numerous fights at school when the other kids say horrible things about Tristan. As a very young boy he has a strength of character that I can't help but admire.
There is so much more I would love to say about Purpose, but I really don't want to give anything away and spoil the story for anyone else. Where Promise ended bitter-sweetly, Purpose finishes on a much better note. I'll leave this review with this thought: The best kind of true love is born from adversity and hard work and is fated to last forever.

Purpose packed even more action and romance than was in Promise and I loved every minute of it.
I'll try to get on track and get the sexy pictures out of my head. I also don't want to spoil this book for people who may not have read Promise yet. Purpose starts out in the present-day and we learn what Alexis has been forced to deal with over the years. She is in a dark place and her emotions jump off the page. It's easy to see how badly she is suffering and Kristie did an outstanding job at depicting this dark time.
We get a more complete look into the world of the Amadis and Daemoni. More questions are answered and the history is explained which opens up this series for what will come up next. I do have to say that I fell in love with Owen in this book. His kindness and compassion was amazing. Owen would have to be one of my all-time favorite side characters and he came around at the perfect time for Alexis.
Purpose started off with drastically different emotions than what we experience while reading Promise; with it's hope of new love and romance. We had to get through the clouds in order to see the sun and oh wow, did the sun come out! Parts of Purpose brought tears to my eyes and other parts ..."rocked me like a hurricane"....(you will know what I mean after reading the book). It was like being on a rollercoaster until the very end.
I never thought that any other book could make my heart pound like Promise did but I was wrong. Purpose exceeded all expectations and presented a story that kept my emotions on high-alert. A true masterpiece that will appeal to all paranormal romance fans.

If you loved Promise, Purpose will rock your socks off!
Alexis is so stressed because Tristan is still missing. Her son and writing her novels is the only thing keeping her sane. However, that is starting to disappear. She starts having horrible nightmares, hallucinations, and burst of energy. What could it all mean? Alexis has never lost faith that Tristan is still alive, but those she loves around her, are starting to have their doubts. Alexis is afraid if she loses that hope, she might turn to her Daemoni blood that is coursing through her.
The Amadis council is not helping starting to pressure her to have a daughter. How could she ever be unfaithful to Tristan?
Owen, her faithful protector, feels so much guilt for coming back without Tristan. However, he is always there for Alexis when she needs him.
With her family in danger of the Daemoni, Alexis decides to do something drastic. Could this save all that she loves?
Purpose takes this story to a completely new level of action, heartfelt emotions, and loyalties. OMG, it was so incredibly good, I find myself stuck for words to describe this intense story without giving away spoilers. I laughed, I cried, oh boy, did I cry. In addition, for me as a reader, when an author can make me cry like that, that in itself tells you what an awesome writer Kristie is. I was there in the battles. I felt the emotions. And the story alone is so attention grabbing; it's difficult to put down.
Even the evil characters of the Daemoni are so interesting to learn more about.
Trust me when I say you MUST read this story. It is so addicting you just cannot get enough. Which is a good this because the next installment of this series, Devotion, is soon to come out!
Be Strong, and read well my friends!

First, I would like to thank Kristie for providing the e-book copy of PURPOSE for this honest review. I really enjoyed PROMISE, but PURPOSE blew me away. The writing is more developed and eloquent and I can see the author's development within the story.
As PURPOSE begins, 7 years have passed since the end of PROMISE, and the whole tone of the book is different. It's darker. Alexis is still depressed, which if you ask me is totally to be expected. To me, this made her more human. She has always wanted to be more "normal" and, in a way, her depression and reaction to the events at the end of PROMISE do that. It's a real struggle to heal from that kind of loss, especially when you don't know what actually happened. Not to mention, the kind of connection that exists between Tristan and Alexis is, well, intense and far deeper than anything imaginable to me. But Kristie has developed and explored this connection so well that I can imagine what that connect, and subsequent loss, could feel like and fully believe Alexis's reaction. And I'm much more impressed with Alexis! Although she struggles desperately with the depression and feels like she's losing herself, she's able to dig deep and find who she calls "Almost Alexis" for her son, which I find a strength in and of itself. While she is falling apart and wants to lose herself she fights. But not only for Dorian, but for Tristan as well. Which is what is at her core, Alexis is a fighter for those she loves most, THE PROTECTOR as Tristan has called her. I think Kristie did an amazing job showing Alexis's feelings. Her pain is so raw and real that, as the reader, you can feel it. I wanted to cry and scream with her.
What I like most about PURPOSE though, is that a lot of the questions from book 1 are answered. Yippee! My biggest question from PROMISE, although it probably was semi irrelevant to most, was who attacked her and who protected her at the very beginning. And we learn the answer! Also, Alexis's history, painful truths, choices between good and evil, and Alexis's purpose are revealed.
PURPOSE is my favorite in the SOUL SAVERS series so far. I look forward to the events to come in DEVOTION, and more of Alexis and Tristan's story.

Purpose was a great continuous on from Promise, filled with lots of action, suspense, heartache, and twists and turns Im sure the reader will enjoy.
After 7 years Alexia is still lost, lonely and her heart still broken, she continues her writing, just hanging on by a thread. Dorien is ALexia's only reminder of Tristan and she must continue on with life to be a mother and the writer she has always wanted to be. Dreams continue to haunt her and she is not the Alexia she use to be.
I wont go into much with this review as I dont want to include spoilers, but prepared to be enlightened and given alot more meat in this sandwich,. We find out more about the Amadis, Alexia finds out she is not just unique..... traits and insights into the past, and information into the world in which Alexia is now a part of.
Kristie has continued on her characters from book one, giving us emotions and characteritics Im sure that you will be sniffing over and characters you will enjoy. The love between ALexia and Tristan has grown, if anything I find them more in love.... The heartache between the two was well put forth and I was unsure if this love was going to live - last - ......
I enjoyed the storyline, the way in which it progressed, I read this in record breaking time, straight after Promise. I really enjoy it when I can jump from one story to the next. This story contains explanations and insight into why Alexias writing was a much needed part of her life, and how the Amadis became about. An interesting and intriguing concept for sure.
This read was a rollercoaster ride filled with emotions, action, suspense, love and the world of the paranormal we all enjoy to read. I eagerly the next book to find out the secret behind Dorien not being able to lead, and what challenges they have ahead of them.

MY REVIEW:
Purpose picked up where Promise left off so well. Again, I was SO GLAD I had it by my side when I finished Promise. I am EAGERLY awaiting Devotion in Feb 2011 and Genesis, a Novella available Oct 19th 2011 in ebook form!
Alexis is getting through life without the other half of her soul. Dorian keeps her busy and so does her writing. They keep her grounded and from falling over the edge completely.
This book was INTENSE! The imagination of author Kristie Cook is outstanding. I love the paranormal aspects that Author Kristie Cook brings to life not only in her book but through the writing of Alexis.
In Purpose, Alexis must find her PURPOSE. She must choose...Heaven or Hell. Happiness or eternal sorrow. Will the good in her overcome the demon blood or will the evil conquer all?
The action, love, devotion, back stabbing, friends, foes and everything in between is so prominent in this book. Alexis discovers a side of herself that she never knew existed. Boy is it one heck of a side too!!
When you have paranormal creatures of all types going up against each other, whose side do you think they will take? I PROMISE that PURPOSE will give you a thrill as you read to find out and more!!
(Again...I keep my reviews very spoiler free so I am holding a lot back on this review. I really highly suggest you read this ADULT series)!!!

Alexis is left reeling from the events in book one and has become a shell of her former self. Her only piece of light is her son, which brings her Daemoni side forward. As events unravel, she is left with many choices, some easy, some very difficult, but there is one thing she refuses to let anyone convince her of, that Tristan is truly dead. She learns more about the supernatural beings around her, more about her self and more about the destiny of her people.
This was a well written book, with lots of twists and turns. I enjoy how the story is unfolding, the relationships between the characters and the cliffhanger endings. I listened to this in whispersync version. While the narrator did a decent job of utilizing tones and accents for different characters, I was a bit annoyed that Alexis is made to sound like a 12 year old. Sex scenes in the voice of a 12 year old creep me out. Overall, I give this 4 fangs because aside from the narration, the story line was great.

Its seven years later and still no sign of Tristan. Alexis is now a published author with several books under her belt and a son to raise, but she's never given up hope of her soul mates return. Will Tristan ever return? Will Alexis finally go through the change and become an Amadis? Well you will have to read the book to find out won't you?
The books in this series keep me coming back for more. This book started off a little slow for me, but I was too curious to quit reading and my perseverance paid off. Once the action started, it really didn't stop. Many questions were answered, and many more came up in there place. I can't wait to read the next book.

My Thoughts:
My first thought was absolute avarice! I was positively gleeful to find out what happened to Tristian and Alexis. I wasn't quite crouching over my Nook, and hissing "My precious" like Gollum in LOTR, but that's highly likely to happen when I get to Devotion. As you can see from the previous posts, my obsession this week has been the Soul Saver series, beginning with Promise and also including Genesis, and Purpose does not disappoint!
We pick up with Alexis seven years later, where she's barely hanging on. She's become a successful writer, a mother to their son Dorian, and an occasional lunatic. The pain and anger she feels is palpable. Tristian has not returned as promised after sacrificing his freedom to the Daemoni save her and her Amadis family, nor has she gone through the Ang'dora, so she cannot go after him. Her ability to produce the needed female offspring to the matriarchal Adamis royal line is brought to the forefront and it's time to let go of Tristian or tumble over into the abyss...
Or option three! Tristian could come back and we watch them kick some serious ass together, show those Twilight weenies how to REALLY break a headboard, and finally become a family with their son.
While I'm on the subject, can I just say, Kristie Cook is as masterful writing fight scenes and heart-breakingly beautiful personal truth moments as she as at writing the love scenes? WHEW! I mean it was getting hot in here! I'm just so over the moon with this series. When I say I couldn't put it down, I really couldn't put it down!

By chance I found Promise on the store and started reading having no idea exactly what the book was about. Much to my surprise it was a fantasy much like the Twilight series I'd read, but found Ms. Cook's to be much better with her fantastic imagination that shows in her writing. I had no idea that it was a series and was pleased to find the second book PURPOSE right away.
With this second book Purpose, Ms. Cook's writing and descriptive adventures of the Amadis, Daemoni and all the characters in her book seem to jump at the reader with the amazing fiction that flows through this book. It's colorful and like you're actually experiencing the action and pain right along with Alexis and the other characters. The battle scenes between good and evil are phenomenal. It's so realistic that it leaves the reader anticipating how the story ends. Will Alexis find her soul mate and love of her life, will she win the battle and choose good over evil, will she find out more about her purpose and secrets that only the Amadis can tell her? Once started, it's hard to put the book down and leaves the reader wanting to know the answers and more page after page.
I have to give this 4 stars and will definitely continue reading Ms. Cook's works and look forward to the third in this series.

Kristie Cook has the ability to write in a manner that you can actually feel the emotions of Alexis. You feel the love between Tristan and Alexis, you feel the grief that Alexis experienced while Tristan was gone. You feel her anxiety and all of her emotions. There are very few authors that can do this.
Purpose brings to light Alexis's purpose and you learn more about her family and history. You learn what is in store for her.
Alexis is experiencing great grief with the absence of her love, Tristan. The birth of the child is not enough to help her to maintain. She goes through an extremely difficult time and almost sacrifices herself.
You need to read the series in order so that the story flows. I really enjoyed this one and I will definitely be purchasing the entire series. I am hooked and these are hard books to put down. This book was a wonderful escape from my reality.

Kristie has done it again! This is the second book of her Soul Savers Series and now I can not wait to read the third! Kristie has managed to add even more depth to her characters and their story. Not just to the main ones, but the other characters as well. Even in a paranormal world life is not a bed of roses and Christie explores a good array of emotions throughout. I look forward to reading more about Alexis and Tristan's fight, but also to learn more of Owen's story as well!

Kristie Cook blew me out of the water, again! The book starts out as good if not better than Promise. Alexis' character has grown and developed so much. She is so heart broken and with Kristie's writing she makes it feel like you are going through it with her.
The book starts out about seven years from Promise and although it is a long time Alexis doesn't change as a person. I felt the pain Alexis had and the love for Tristan felt just like mine to my husbands. Hope is a magical thing and in life there is ALWAYS hope, to see Alexis' hope for Tristan is just inspiring. Alexis keeps it together long enough for her son, it is what we do for our kids.
Alexis goes through so much change in the story I feel she becomes more cynical at times but here is where I find another love, Owen. His relationship with Alexis is messy and so much more going on. I personally would like to have seen a lot more of Owen.
This book brought us Dorian and he is amazing and edible. He was written in very well as Kristie Cook has a fantastic style of writing. The writing of Dorian was faultless, his relationship with his mum crutial yet realistic.
I couldn't put this book down and after reading this I instantly downloaded the rest and the Novella. I was looking for excuses to go to bed early to read.

I really liked Kristie Cook's first book Promise and was excited to start reading the second book. I started reading it Monday evening late and I had severe difficulties not reading it throughout the whole night. I got my sleep and finished it on Tuesday. I loved this book!
Purpose starts 7 years after Tristan had to leave Alexis. They had a very short honeymoon, which was interrupted by Daemoni attack. Alexis is still waiting Tristan to return. After 7 long years, her mind is getting very tormented and dark. She is not willing to believe that Tristan is dead even though for 7 long years she has not seen or heard anything about him. Even when she sees a video of somebody killing Tristan, she still has faith that Tristan will return.
The pressure from outside to Alexis for moving on gets bigger, the council is still hoping that Alexis will also give a birth to a girl who could take a lead of Amadis. Alexis only wants Tristan.
I loved the way writer developed Alexis' character. Alexis grows stronger as a woman, as Amadis. I loved the way the writer described Alexis' internal dialogues and that writer showed Alexis as a complex person with many aspects. I loved that there were several Alexis - the good, the evil, the confused, the foggy. It showed her like a real person with human feelings, doubts, pain and love.
Dorian was absolutely adorable, so sweet and sincere. The scene when he meets his daddy was heartbreakingly beautiful. It made me cry.
I also loved that we got more to know about Owen, I think it was interesting part of the plot.
The only thing which seemed little flat, was the description Tristan gave Alexis about what he did these 7 years. It sounded too easy, too flat. Luckily it didn't ruin my opinion of the book. Tristan made it all good at the sexy and hot parts of the book :)
Ending of the book was interesting. What will happen to Dorian? I would love to know. I am really hoping that the writer will continue writing about them.
Absolute 5 star book!!!!
