WOW! I absolutely loved Painter and Mel's story. Ups and downs, twists and turns, loads of alpha-male-hotness, strong female character, love and some REALLY hot sex - what more can you ask for? I can't think of anything...

Read the series, in order - it's AMAZING - and worth any price...

Another great book from Joanna! I love the world of the Reapers MC and glad Painter had a book. Reaper's Property with Horse and Marie is still my fave of the series, but this one is right up there close to it. I want more Reaper's and Silver Bastards!!!!

Awesome addition to my collection of the MC books by Joanna Wylde. Hopefully there are others in the works. You get caught up in the stories so much that sometimes you just want to slap someone, or shoot them hehehe!

I enjoyed this story after feeling like I waited FOREVER to read it! I got mad at both Painter and Melanie, but together they worked well. The beginning started a little slow, but after about halfway, it really got rolling and I had to force myself to put my kindle down and get some work done.

This is one of my favorite series. I recommend this book and the Author. I think Painter is one of my favorite people in this series. I wanted him to find his woman and be happy. I loved the way they had to work through all the shot thrown at them. Can't wait to read more of this series.

Joanna never disappoints with her MC stories. Painters story was just what I expected. He and Mel didn't have an easy go of it from day one, but they eventually work things out to become the family that they both needed.

Reapers Fall really focuses on the relationship struggles of Melanie and Painter. These two had a hard time keeping it together. As you know Painter has been sent to prison to serve out the sentence he earned doing club business. Even though they had brief interaction before he is locked up they feel a connection and write to each other while he is away. Melanie is trying to start a new life by focusing on school, home, and even dating, but she can’t stop thinking about Painter and the connection she felt.

After Painter is released it gets messy. Painter drove me crazy because although he wants her doesn’t feel good enough. He can’t make up his mind on claiming her or leaving her alone. Melanie wants Painter but is tired of his games. Their story was like an uphill battle with Painter always ready to do what was required for the club even if it landed him in jail. Then Melanie receives some news that makes her afraid of the other shoe dropping and has to decide if she can live his life.

I really liked Melanie up until a certain point and then I wanted to strangle her. I understood her fears and why she kept putting up roadblocks to a point. But in the end I felt Painter PROVED he could be what she needed and it all became too much.

I loved the growth we got to see in Jessica. I know in previous books people couldn’t stand her because she was a hot mess, but she has grown into a better person.

All in all I really enjoyed their story. I am hoping another Reaper is getting a book because we got quite a bit backstory for another one.

This was a really good book! I really enjoyed Painter and Mel's story. But i want to know what happens with some of the story line with the other club. Hopefully the next book will fill us in about it. Overall it was a great story.

Love the alpha males and the independent strong women, realistic and entertaining, looking forward to Joanna Wylde's next book.
Especially enjoy the series, being able to catch up on characters from earlier books in the series.

Ms. Wylde's research into the MC cultural is evident. She brings a depth and empathy to her characters. It's not an easy read sometimes, the subject is corse and the lifestyle hard but the loving is so good.

As usual, Joanna Wylde does not disappoint. I've been waiting for Painter's story. His character has matured, hardened some, but now we get some depth and understanding. Mel is still innocent, but strong. The writing is excellent. It's hard to write characters like this and still make them likeable, loveable even, but JW has done it again. This entire series lives in my head, tangible, organic, and powerful. There is a glut of MC romance lit on the market now and none of it even remotely compares to the Reapers series.

JW's Reaper series has ruined me for all other MC romance. Others simply don't compare, with their stereotypical biker speak, unintelligent behavior and ridiculous insta-love plotlines, their ignorance of actual biker culture is evident. The amount of research clearly put into this series has added a level of believability into the stories, yet she writes the softer side so very well and makes it work for romance. Painter's story might be her most edgy one yet. Less softening on the edges, bolder language, although his passion for art glimpse you into his heart in a different way.

That being said, Reaper's Fall isn't my favorite of the series, even though Painter is one of my favorite characters. Mainly because there was too much conflict between the main characters, which took too long to resolve, primarily due to the length of time that Melanie was willing to hold a grudge over one mistake that Painter apologized for repeatedly with words and action. I would have liked to get more time with them as a couple, and see how their relationship looked without angst. I thought it was inconsistent with his character that Painter would allow it to go on that long, although I suppose the point was that he was trying to be the stand up guy so she could have a normal life, but when the rubber meets the road he couldn't handle her with another dude and had to be provoked into manning up and claiming her. I did like the backstory of the conflict with the other club and how that resolved and wound into the Painter/Melanie plotline. Yet another Reaper woman using firepower!

Reaper's Fall is another example of well developed characters and a storyline that is believable and raw while still being heavenly enough to satisfy my need for that romantic ideal. Life can be messy, especially for Bikers and people who choose to live their lives by their own rules, and the writing doesn't ignore that, but I still believe in love, and Reapers Fall hasn't forgotten that either with this newest page turner. JW has mastered the genre and I can't wait for more!

Wow! Joanna books just get better and better. I love every part of this book. How Painter and Mellie relationship grew over the years despite the rough patches Mellie was going throw. The co-parenting partnership. But most of all how so many previous characters show up. Double fist bump Jo! You rock!

A favorite romance subgenre of mine is the so-called MC genre. For some reason, I like to read about tattooed, bad guys living on the edge. One of my favorite series in this genre is “The Reapers MC Series” by Joanna Wylde. Reaper’s Fall is the fifth book in the series, and I’ve been waiting for it a long time. It’s not my favorite Reapers MC book, but I’m definitely not disappointed.

Melanie Tucker isn’t lucky in life, her mother has abandoned her when she was a young teenager, and her father is a mean drunk who’s out of her life. London, the aunt of her best friend Jessica, has taken her in, becoming some sorts of mother to her. Melanie is an innocent girl and has nothing to do with the world of biker MC’s. Through Landon’s relationship with the president of the Reaper’s MC – their story is told in the previous book in the series, Reaper’s Stand – Melanie meets Painter, one of the club’s protectors. She’s warned by a lot of people to stay away from him, he’s too dangerous for a girl like her.

“You ignored me when you got out, you made me c*** last night, and now you’re sticking your hand up my shirt while you’re telling me I deserve better. Have you ever considered seeing a shrink? Because I think you could use one.”

Levi ‘Painter’ Brooks is a rough, strong man who is living the dangerous life of an outlaw biker. He’s a patched in member of the Reaper’s MC and acts as a protector to his MC brothers. Besides being a fierce biker, Painter earns money with his art, hence the road name Painter. He knows he’s not a good man, and he knows he should stay away from Melanie – she is too cute and innocent for a man like him. But after a year of writing letters to each other, Painter can’t stay away any longer and comes to stake his claim – and Melanie lets him.

“Men built all kinds of crazy fantasies on the inside— always fell to s*** when they got out again. Mel was just another b***h, one with too much baggage. I didn’t really want her. Sure as hell didn’t need her. Right. Who the f*** was I kidding?”

Reaper’s Fall follows the lives of Painter and Melanie over the course of five years, parts of them spend together, but for most of them they are apart. They share a daughter, they love each other, but along the way Melanie loses her faith in Painter – he will always place the MC before her, or so she thinks. The early days of their relationship are good, you can feel the mutual attraction between Melanie and Painter, you can see them working to give it a real chance. A decision made by Painter and the other Reaper’s members changes everything. Melanie is left behind, giving birth to their daughter while Painter is in prison. When he has served his time, she wants nothing to do with him. When they finally get back together, Painter and Melanie have a chance at their well-earned Happily Ever After.

I enjoyed seeing the characters from the previous books in Reaper’s Fall. I‘m glad Jessica has gotten herself together, has left her destructive ways behind, and is living a normal life now. A lot of the inner works of the MC world are shown through Painter’s eyes. I don’t have any experience in this lifestyle, or know criminals, but it feels realistic and not over-the-top. However, the one aspect I didn’t like in the book was the fact that for a long time, Painter and Melanie are not together. I wish there would have been more time when we see them reunite and build a life together. Also, Melanie holds one hell of a grudge, I understand her, but she knows what she’s gotten herself into starting things with Painter.

“I’m not running guns, I’m not selling drugs. I paint f***ing pictures, and then I sell them to rich a****les so they can brag about my ‘primitive art’ at their cocktail parties. I’ll take their money with a smile, pay my club dues, and then I’ll always come home to you and Izzy. I love you.”

Although I wish things were different, that Painter and Melanie both made other choices and reacted differently, I still enjoy this story very much. I give it 4 stars.

I absolutely love this series! It has all the criteria a great book needs.....the feels...the emotions...the drama...the angst...the love. The best part of these books is the family...they are a unit. Mel and Painter were perfect for each other even if it took them awhile to get there. It is so realistic that one decision could change your whole course in life. Actions speak louder than words....so true and in this case it proved to be perfect! Can't wait for more Reapers!
