I really enjoyed the middle books of this series as the characters grew and the women became more participants, than things to be saved. The story was engrossing and the world created really amazing. But this last book really left a bad taste in my mouth, the main reason is the treatment in this book and a previous one, of women who have been broken by horrific abuse, the lack of empathy was a bit disturbing, and the final treatment of the ex, reminded me of the excuses many men give when abusing their wives, they deserved the abuse, because they were bad people.
So while I enjoyed many other parts of the book, I had continued issues with the treatment of women in this book, the constant references to their body parts, and the callus cruelty displayed throughout the story.
But this last book... was well very disturbing.

As in previous books, the "easter eggs" abound; you get some old eggs "hatching", but then there's a whole new clutch! If you know mythology (and not *just* Greco-Roman), you'll have a leg-up on parts of the story- but don't get surprised when things get a little...wild.
Team Temple takes on its biggest task to date; get a balcony seat for the big picture!

Once again the magical mayhem in this book is very nearly non-stop. If you haven’t already read the first six books in the Nate Temple series, you will want to do so before you get into this one; otherwise you will have a hard time figuring out what is going on. That’s tough enough anyway.
Over the last four books – maybe five – Nate has been pitted against more and more difficult magical foes. Each time it has seemed as if, once he has defeated this foe, the biggest source of his troubles will have been eliminated. Each time, it has turned out not to be the case. This time is no exception.
At the end of the previous book, Tiny Gods, Nate’s former fiancée acquired the magical object she needed – the hand of a god, I think, to waken a minor god, and did just that. At the end of that book it appeared that the war that would ensue from that action would begin before the end of that day and things would be very bad for everyone when that happened.
When we get to the beginning of Wild Side, it is ten months later, and the war hasn’t happened yet. But it is still expected any minute. Nate has gathered all his friends, and even most of his acquaintances at his home, Chateau Falco, where they are keeping an eye out for the worst. Nate’s spiritual brothers, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, have turned him down when he asked for their help with the war. So, what’s a Wizard to do?
Even Callie Penrose, from the companion Feathers and Fire series has come to help. But when it turns out that Nate’s next step is to visit the land of the Fae – again – he doesn’t take Callie. Instead, he takes Ashley the werewolf, Tory the beast master, Carl the Elder, and Sir Muffle Paws the cat. When they arrive in the land of the Fae all of them are different. Wilder. Especially Nate, who becomes a creature named Wylde, sort of a Fae caveman type. Their task there is evidently to incorporate their wild aspect with their regular selves to become stronger without totally giving in to anarchy. This is less of a thing for Carl (who actually seems to become a little more human) and Sir Muffle Paws (a furry warrior called Talon in his Fae form). But it is very important for Tory, Ashley, and Nate.
They return to their normal world after maybe a day and a half in the land of the Fae, only to find that it has been seven weeks and the war has actually begun. And Nate is warned not to participate, except for some very specific targeted actions. Much of the point of the war is for his people to show they are competent to defend themselves without constant assistance from Nate, or they will be subjected to repeated attacks by the forces of – whatever.
One of Nate’s tasks is to kill the Greek Goddess Indie awakened. I just want to state for the record that, as Greek deities go, I don’t consider Athena to be a minor deity. Just sayin’.
The end is left a lot up in the air. People are missing. People who should have been more reasonable are tricked into not being reasonable. And an old enemy, long thought to be dead, reveals himself by betraying Nate and everybody. Maybe he is the source of all the trouble all along?

Shayne Silvers' The Wild Side is indeed a gloriously "deathly hilarious" novel as promised. This seventh installment of the Nate Temple Supernatural Thrillers might just be the best yet (a very high bar, indeed). Your laugh, you'll cry, you'll cringe - all at the same time while having a blast reading this novel. It's plot is wonderfully written and the already superb characters somehow get even better. I know, too many superlatives there, but frankly this book deserves it. My one recommendation is that a new reader start with book 1 as the prior books in the series are really great and will definitely enhance enjoyment of this one. As for this one, you most probably guessed that I highly recommend it.

The Nate Temple series is outstanding to say the least! Shayne is a writing wizard! The way the stories just captures your imagination and transports you into a world that Shayne has created for Nate and all his shifter, magical friends is just wonderful! One click if you haven't already, but don't stop there go back to the very beginning you won't be disappointed, every book in the Nate Temple series is outstanding! Wild Side was such a fitting title. Nate definitely has to call to his wild side to get out of the world of the fae. It was so good, just when I think he can't top his last book Shayne does it and he does it with ease. I can't wait to see what he has planned next for Nate and his friends! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading this arc.

Embrace the world of Master Nate Temple and it will...Blow. Your. Mind. If you could imagine the best things of The Avengers, 300, Lord of the Rings, Supernatural, and Harry Potter (as an adult with even cooler friends), you might come close to Nate's life. The Wild Side is the best of the series so far. There's more fun, heart, family, laugh your ass off, general craziness, and "we bring the terror" moments to date. Nate's got bigger and badder enemies, some new, some old.. But to be fair I don't think that description comes close doing Wild Side justice. I felt like I was on a boat in a hurricane, before being tossed overboard, and arriving suddenly on a tropical paradise. Only to realize I was on the menu for the savage locals. In order to survive, I had to become the chef. Shayne Silvers is now my favorite author. I'm honored to have received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily posted a review. After all, if he writes it, I will read it. Master Silvers, take a bow for a standing ovation!!

There is nothing more jarring than a writer that doesn’t stick to the lore, cannon, of their world. Shayne does this exceedingly well in EVERY book he has written. His characters are compelling and relatable. The books are just the right length but with enough background/“fluff” information to keep the storyline from stalling. I don’t want to give any spoilers as his books are must reads, but all I’m going to say is F***ing Carl!

Shayne has done it again! Meet Nates Wylde side. In this one Nate and a few friends go to the land of the Fae. Where they get in touch with their wild side in order to fight the big bad coming afterward. Suspense, mayhem, murder and more in this gripping edition of the Nate Temple Series. Keeps you wanting more.

Again and Again Shayne leaves us wanting more and more. With plot twists coming from the first book to the series!! As one plot line closes 2 more open. You WILL NEVER look at the Gods the same way again. Think you can figure out the ending of a book before you actually do? THINK AGAIN. Shayne is the MASTER Temple and making you re read a book 4 times or more and you will still have missed something
Definitely a must HAVE SERIES

Wild Side is the highly anticipated 7th book in the fantastic Nate Temple series. There is a good reason why people who know good writing have been waiting for this novel, because Shayne is simply the best author in the game. His command of the written word is unequalled by anyone currently writing. He can blend action, humor, magic and add a splash of drama to create the most compelling fiction around. This book is fast paced, the jokes flow freely, and the magic crackles from the pages, you should read this book. But first you should read the first 6 if you have not already! You will not be disappointed.

The book intrigued me when the author was nominated for one of my Best Indie Titles of 2017 awards on my author blog, and the author was nice enough to share the story with me for a review. I know this is book seven and I haven't read books 1-6, but I enjoyed it. It started off strong, with a fast pace, and there wasn't a need to be familiar with the other books, but I think I’ll need to go back and read them all as a series. (I love reading series from beginning to end, almost as much as I love writing them). Anyway, in the middle it seemed to slow down a little bit but that didn't take away from the story. It was filled with action, twists and emotions than ran high. A great story, with wild and amazing characters.

I've been following the Temple Chronicles for a while now, and I have to say that this installment blew all others out of the water. Without giving anything away, things take a huge turn here. It's still the world and the characters that Shayne made us fall in love with over the first six books, but everything is also different. The stakes are higher, and the plots run deeper than anyone (even Nate and Co) could have guessed. And yet, looking back, this is exactly where everything else was leading.
In a way, this installment feels like a second beginning. All of the events from before weren't ends in themselves, but a means to prepare the characters for what is coming.
I thought Shayne had hit his stride before, but Wild Side is on a whole new level. Whatever caused me to struggle with Tiny Gods is gone. I finished this one in less than four days, and it's the biggest installment yet!
There is some crossover with Shayne's newest series, Unchained, and I do recommend reading Feathers and Fire between Tiny Gods and Wild Side. While there are no real spoilers, Nate reflects on some things that happened in Unchained, and you will want to read it anyway to get the full story.
All in all, be prepared to fall even harder in love with this crazy world Shayne is revealing, and all the characters that inhabit it!

This book was different from the previous books in ways. Oh sure you had Nate and co fighting and deciphering cryptic messages. However, we take a journey and start to see some of old Nate peep through again. Along with a new Nate, Ashley, Tory and even Mr muffle paws.
The author does a good job of keeping everything straight somehow. Weaving a complex world of stories into a seamless timeline of events. If you've read my previous reviews, you know I've been hoping that Callie and Nate get together. They don't in this book, although we do see her some in this episode, but it was enough to get me even more excited for the next Callie book. (Come on April!)
Off to read the next one.

If you enjoy reading and feeling you are there in the story, you need to read Nate Temple. The characters are strong, funny, and real. In this book, Nate has my favorite things: Callie, the horseman, and Fae. And I can't forget the Greeks, Grim, and Dragons; everything you could want in a story. So fall in love with Nate Temple and his friends. You won't regret it. One of my favorite authors. He can write anything and I would read it. I give this book 5 stars and if I could give it ten, I would.

I first met Nate Temple on accident- through Callie Penrose. After I finished her initial foray , I just had to know more about Nate. What was up with his world he couldn't tell her about? Mysteries annoy me.
I have never been so glad to be irritated by a book in my life. (Which is not to say I didn't enjoy her book- I did) I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Even when I had absolutely no idea what was happening- Nate's mind is full of twists and turns and makes these incredible leaps of logic leaving you gasping for breath at the starting line, wondering how the hell he managed to get to the end of the race already. I'm very impatiently waiting for the next installment. I can promise you will not regret falling into this very entertaining ( and surprisingly educational) rabbit hole.

Entranced from first to last books. Characters I've never before encountered, and fascinating twists on ones I thought I knew. Only a hint of romance that furthers the plot without sidelining the story. Incredible battle scenes, secrets, nuances, surprises.
But PLEASE get a copy editor that knows the differences between "and me" and "and I." And when to capitalize nouns or leave them lowercase. Distracting to an otherwise smooth read. A few other things missed in the copy edit arena, but that seems typical for ebooks.

IF you haven't started this series yet, YOU SHOULD...This is one of the best series I have read in a long time. If it were a screenplay, it would outdo Game of Thrones....BELIEVE IT!! THIS AUTHOR is amazing...the characters are fabulously complicated, and eerily real...you can FEEL what they are feeling, and literally SEE what they are...this is turning out to be on hell of a ride, INTO THE WILD SIDE! I think we will soon find out WHAT NATE IS BECOMING, and what the "next phase" is going to be. THIS SERIES is by far my favorite now...NO OFFENSE, JIM BUTCHER, I STILL LOVE YOU....but SHAYNE SILVERS is just so damn good...that now HE is my favorite writing Wizard...keep up the great work, and I CANNOT WAIT FOR DECEMBER for the next book!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!

Well Nate Temple fans, Shayne Silvers has been back to work, and he presents us with Nate's newest adventure. A Greek God has been awoken, and to save the world, Nate must destroy this God. But with one is it, and how do you kill a god? To find out, Nate and company take a harrowing journey to the land of the faerie. There he must learn to get in touch with his "Wild Side" without losing touch with his humanity. The book is filled with the characters and snark we have all grown to love. The only downside to this story, is that you have to wait for the next one.

Very satisfying! Loved Nate getting his Wylde side on... Didn't think it was possible for him to get any more badass! Kind of felt sorry for Indie at the end, but Nate stayed stronger than I would have. I'm glad he and Callie seem to be connecting. Just what he needs and deserves; love, understanding, acceptance... and another HOT BABE! Too bad about Matthias, I thought he was finally going to get some peace and happiness in his life. We'll just have to wait and see what fate has in store for the Mad Hatter!

Shayne Silvers continues to top my expectations. With an absolute and immutable refusal to devolve into the tired pattern of redeeming every loss or making everyone "good" in the end, he takes us on a rollercoaster of adventure as our favorite wizard Nate Temple sets out to once again do the impossible. I can usually pull out one line from a book that is my favorite--I cannot here but only because there are just too many. If you haven't, start at the beginning of the series and grab your absinthe and popcorn--you're gonna need them!

I have absolutely loved the Nate Temple series- I hope it continues! I do have to say, if I am honestly reviewing this book, that it is my least favorite in the series so far. It ended well, the last third of the book was amazing, but the first two thirds seemed to be primarily inner monologue, which got somewhat tiresome.
Don't get me wrong, it was still a fantastic read, but I hope Shayne gets back to more action and less thinking about action!

Ermagerd. Because Nate OBVIOUSLY didn't have enough insanity in his life, he gets to find out about another aspect of himself now. I continue to be impressed by the talent of Shayne Silvers and his ability to draw me into a story that has more twists and turns than a rollercoaster ride on steroids. Yet again, we're left wanting more. At least he writes fast.
Also, loved the Bonus Callie Content.

Shayne has outdone himself this time! The twists and turns in this book alone will leave you breathless. I didn't want the roller coaster of emotion to end. Shayne has an amazing way of bringing his characters to life. I love all his books but this one was everything you look for in a story! Read it you won't be disappointed!

In this book, similar to the Dresden files, Nate Temple has to get in touch with his alter ego. This alter ego is a crafty, war hardened, with magic unlike anything he has even experienced. Him and his vagabond team traveled to the land of the Fae on a quest to kill a God. This is the best in the Temple series yet. It take the power of Heaven and Hell to bring a God down, will Nate be able battle the forces within to achieve his quest?

Loving this series! There's humor, action, heartbreak, and lots of magic. There are so many LOL moments (literally). The pace is non-stop, much like life. This book is special to me because Mate has some hard truths he has to face, like letting his friends stand on their own and putting to end some of his own mistakes.
Also nice seeing Callie from Feathers & Fire series.

Once more dear friends Shayne Silvers leads us into the breach of our mundane normal lives with another absolute jewel in the magical crown of the Nate Temple series. With each successive story he manages outdo the one from before. Wildside is no different......there is laughter.....tears....and you may want to throw your tablet but will just catch yourself. A master storyteller that is honing his craft to a fine edge.....no one can work that nerve like Shayne Silvers can work that nerve....enjoy!
