Susan Wilton is an admirable heroine, demonstrating resilience, strength, and compassion. Even after being jilted she holds her head up, continuing to teach at the village school. When the position of nanny is offered to Susan, in the Duke of Lennox's home she accepts the position.
The Duke has retreated into a world of hard work, still grieving for the wife he lost in childbirth. Susan' entrance into his home will of course bring transformation. not just for him but his daughter as well. I enjoyed the story, and the author's descriptive, clean sweet style, creating an entertaining regency romance.
I read an ARC of this book.

A sweet loving story with heart and caring. Hanna has really brought us a wonderful historical romance with a whole lot of great characters. Susan A young woman left at the alter she is determined to get on with her life as a school teacher but she is soon approached with a interesting proposal. The Duke of Lennox John has been distant from his daughter after his wife's death and his aunt believes it's time for some help. Soon these two start to feel something between them. Can these two find happiness? I really enjoyed this book and recommend it. I voluntary reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This was a very sweet regency romance. Poor Susan, jilted at the altar and resigned to life as a spinster, does not become reclusive and bitter. Rather she remains a gentle, caring woman and eventually becomes governess to sweet Elizabeth. I was enchanted by the story, especially when Susan finds herself courted by not one, but two men. The story kept me turning pages, eager to see how the story would end and hoping for everyone's happiness. This is a clean regency with lots of romance but low heat factor and no sex.

I loved the real warm characters that were each and everyone believable. When Susan is left standing at the alter on her wedding day, I wondered how she would move on. She is a strong, brave and caring young woman who comes into her own as she seems to be unlucky in the world of romance. Her relationship with the Duke and his daughter is a beautiful and touching story. Of course every story has to have its villians, but even those are redeemed by the end. It was a wonderful novel that I read straight through, and I have found another author that I greatly admire.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book...I really enjoyed the leading lady in this book..she was real...level headed and sweet...strong and determined...this was a sweet romance, but do not expect the typical hearts n roses...this lady has a head on her shoulders and a brain in there lol..an enjoyable read..I read it in one sitting because I just wanted to know what happens next :).. What was great is that at the end of the book, there is a link to an extended epilogue which was an awesome round up, and added so much value to the already great ending

First I want to offer my apology to Hanna Hamilton. I was part of the ARC team and had yet to leave my review.
I really liked this historical story of love lossed, fear it will never come again and finally finding your true love. Two lost people afraid to open their hearts again. I will admit to crying every time I read the happy ending.
Historical writing is difficult yet I found myself in 1800 England. The manners, description was on point.
I wound highly recommend this reading for all writers classes especially high school level.

This is a historical romance featuring Susan Wilton as the nanny to the five year old daughter of Daniel, the Duke of Lennox. After being left at the altar five years earlier, Susan had resigned herself to a life of spinsterhood. Things took a turn when she met two dashing men at a friends wedding. One was a dashing naval captain and the other was a Duke who hired her to be his daughter's nanny. Both men are attracted to her, but no spoiler here. This is a clean Regency romance with a happy ending. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is a historical, regency romance that is also a torn between multiple suitors, romance. Left at the altar, Susan is delighted to be offered the job as nanny/ governess, to a sweet, lonely, little girl. Very soon, Susan finds that not one, but TWO men, are actively courting her! Well-written with well-developed characters, this romance has excitement, drama, betrayal and twists to delight and entertain. This sweet, clean romance is sure to engage readers who enjoy regency romance.I received this book as an ARC and I volunteered this review.

This romance story set in the 1800's is delightful! I really enjoyed the details that the author included which gave added insight to the lifestyle of that time period. This book is well rounded, being set in the village of Ash London, Bathe, and on the Dukes own lands.
I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and recommend it to readers of historical romance. You will find that the author has done an excellent job in researching not only the places, but also the speech and mannerisms of the people who lived there.

I really enjoyed this book with the pleasant surprise of the extended epilogue. I lwas drawn into the book by all of the charismatic characters (had a hard time liking Fitz but she won me over in the end) & was torn between John & Daniel but loved the way it turned out. I have enjoyed all of Hanna Hamilton's books & am looking forward to more in the future!

The title pretty much tells the story. It doesn't begin to tell the twist and turns. I'm still trying to decide how I feel about Susan. She seems to lead guys on and I felt like she deserted Daniel. I know she loved John. I get it. Then Susan is so good to Elizabeth, I want to like her. I need another day to process my feelings on Susan. John is great once he stops ignoring Elizabeth. Good characters. I certainly have my thoughts about each of them which means they were brought to life. I do wish I felt more passion between Susan and John.

Beautiful Regency Romance! Susan has a problem. Her heart is pulled in two different directions: on one side, is the warm, dashing Naval Captain and on the other side, a handsome, charming Duke. Enjoyed how Susan went back and forth in her mind trying to figure out which man to choose. The suspense kept me hanging on because I liked both men. The journey to happiness was pleasant, adorable and entertaining with a shocking twist. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.

This was a wonderful story. Susan was the oldest sister yet she remained unmarried. Then her groom stood her up at the church. But she was a wonderful caring woman. Through a series of events she ends up as the governess for the 5 year old daughter of the Duke. Throughout the book she is a bit conflicted as a Naval Captain and brother to her best friend begins to court her and she finds she also has feelings developing for the Duke. Great characters, story and interesting events. Very enjoyable read.

A wonderfully written story about a Duke who lost his wife during the birth of their daughter Elizabeth and the governess who makes him want to love again. Ms. Hamilton did a great job with this book the characters are true to life. There was some fun and joyful moments , Elizabeth is so cute and was so happy with Susan. I loved Susan and John (The Duke) together and enjoyed reading about their developing relationship. I voluntarily received an advance arc copy for an honest review.

Susan is a proves to be a very capable women who decides to live her life out as a spinster due to being left at the alter. When the Duke of the brother who jilted her to offer a position as Governess/nanny she accepts. This is a great read that I just couldn't put down.

Readable, straightforward story with no struggle, no examination of the finer feelings, no concept of the restrictions and duties of social class, and no historic roots. The Monarchs mentioned did not co-exist with trains and platinum. The characters lack warmth and depth and act with no consideration for the feelings of others. Still recommending because many readers will not be picky and will admire the heroine as she chooses only the best of what life lays at her feet, which is everyone's fantasy.

This was my first time reading Hanna Hamilton and I really enjoyed this story. A not-so-typical romance between a Duke and the young woman who eventually becomes a governess to his daughter. Both Susan and the Duke have some past issues that are still affecting them in different ways, and I liked how we get to see the evolution of maturity for Susan's character throughout the course of the book. I'm looking forward to reading more from Ms. Hamilton in the future.

This sweet and clean regency romance focuses on the simple country life. It‘s not your typical story of a girl in trouble forced to become governess. It’s the romance of a country girl and a duke. I enjoyed reading this book which could catch my attention without spectacular or scandalous scenes by describing the simple pleasures and the not so simple troubles of country life. ***I have received an ARc of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I voluntarily agreed to read this ARC A lovely sweet romance or should I say romances. I watched how Susan's character grew from being a naive young lady to a strong willed women through the choices she made in her life. Susan was jilted by Simon her first love and seemed to be confused as to what she really wanted from a relationship however she had a few beau's fighting for her affections and a career as a school teacher which she loves. but when she changes careers and finds herself governess to a young and bright girl Elizabeth, Susan also finds herself attracted to the girls father John the duke of Lennox but also has a young captain her friends brother Daniel wanting her affections of course love never run some smoothly and they are a few issues in between

This was an interesting read. There were twists and turns in this story. Some are unexpected and others are not. The Duke and Susan meet at her wedding. She has been stood up. They meet again at her sister's wedding. She runs into her old boyfriend and makes a new one. The Duke is living with his own demons and his daughter is paying for it. Susan is a teacher in her village but, desires to do more. The story is engaging. It is a worthwhile read.

Such a beautiful story, I love Susan's resilient, courageous spirit. John may be the Duke of Lennox, but he's still a man, and both he and his daughter Elizabeth need her spirit in their lives. There is some question about where she will go one her path to true love, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Susuan has a loving heart, and it's wonderful that she finds the love she deserves. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

I love Regency romance stories and thoroughly enjoyed this one with great characters, romance and intrigue. Susan had several chances at marriage, but ended up with the best one. She was fantastic with Elizabeth and they all made a great family. I believe this is the first book I've read from this author, but I plan to read more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy and highly recommend it to lovers of this genre.

Sweet Regency romance. I really liked this book. Characters were believable. Situation was plausible. The Duke is still grieving his wife, who died in childbirth. He is ignoring his daughter. His aunt maneuvers him into hiring the daughter of a local squire to be the child's governess. Oh yes, the Duke's younger brother left her at the altar five years before. You can imagine the rest but I recommend you read it.

After receiving this ARC book, promising to leave my honest feedback. This is the first book I have read from the author Hanna, n I mus say how very much ch I enjoyed it. The characters make you feel like your apart of their family. And even though they are very wealthy, they are very down to earth people. After reading this story, I have experienced many different emotions on all different levels.

I always love a good historical romance read and The Governess Who Stole My Heart is no exception. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. The story kept me involved from the very first page to the last. I am not such a huge fan of love triangles because I feel they are overdone. This one didn't bother me that much. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical romance books.

John and Susan’s journey to wedded matrimony was an absolutely charming and delightfully engaging regency romance.
Hanna Hamilton is a new author for me and I wasn’t disappointed by this story, she writes from the heart with captivating characters and secondary characters who steal their way into your hearts.

An enjoyable engaging story. Easy to read, smooth and full of descriptions and relationships. Well written, My first read of this author and I like it and would seek more of her stories. Likable but not perfect heroes and heroines and support characters. Lots of little plots brought to conclusion. Angst. And necessary to me a HEA.
Great reading 356 pgs. for 99 cents. Close my mouth.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from HiddenGems and voluntarily gave my review. Author Hannah Hamilton has brought to life another sweet charming book from the English Regency time period. In this quaint but sometimes antagonist story she blends her characters with vivid description adding great detail to the storyline to bring it to a satisfying conclusion.

An enjoyable enough read, but did not steal this reader's heart. While there really couldn't be anything else added to this story without turning it into a messy jumble, it still feels as if something is missing here. The characters are likeable, but don't have much depth to them. It's a sweet story with a happily ever after.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This story was easy to follow and I enjoyed it’s development. The characters were well written, and showed their emotions. It took Susan much confusion before she was able to make a decision, though when she did she was very decisive. I thought this book was unpredictable I totally recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reviewer Copy of this book. The story of Susan and John took a long & winding way. There were a lot of stops & at one point I did not even know who Susan was going to end up with. However it wasn't dragging & a lot of surprises come up which makes you want to continue reading. No steamy scenes but good old romance.

What a role reversal - always read about the groom left at the alter never the bride. All the feelings of the character were so strong as a reader I felt the pain of humiliation she must have felt. Plot was well done and kept me turning pages - looking forward to more from this author! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

I really enjoyed the story of how Susan overcame disappointment to find love in the end with John. Even her runaway groom Simon is redeemed & finds love with Fiona. The only part I didn’t like was how poor Daniel was dispatched to leave the way open for John, I would have liked him to find love. It was however a good read and would recommend it to everyone who enjoys a regency romance.

Hanna has done it again! I totally enjoyed this book but of course Dukes are my favorite. I thought the storyline was interesting and the characters were also. Of course there's always a wanton woman after the Duke. Will she pick the captain or the Duke read to find out.I voluntarily reviewed the arc copy of this book and I'm glad I did

Very clean historical read with a young women's heart experiencing love 3 times in different ways. A young women who's heart knows what in wants in teaching and love. A Duke who loved & lost a wife, pretty much abandoned his child. A wonderful, loving & caring Aunt. Family values, friends and new acquaintances all blended in.

I really enjoyed the author's previous books, but this one not so much. I was bothered that different aspects (her working as a teacher, the very contemporary way of speaking between Susan and Katherine) were not Regency. Whereas I could not put down her previous books, I struggled to finish this one. Maybe I prefer more conflict.

I took a chance on this book because the customer reviews were so high. Perhaps the reviews were so good because the reviewers don't read well-written books? The characters were colorless and boring. The plot went nowhere. I kept reading just to see how bad it could get.
